Dunno how it is in New York, but here in California, the question is NOT "do you know nothing," but rather "can you set your biases aside and be fair and impartial."

    Correct.

Unless there's something from social media or otherwise that indicates a clear bias, the magic words from a juror are "yes, I can be fair and unbiased."

This is all correct. I am not a lawyer, but I did get called for Jury Duty in Manhattan.  Still pissed it wasn't for this one, but whatevs.  In London avoiding the circus.  Trump Tower is between my house and my office, and the barricades have been up all week.

Is leasing always bad? I haven't really heard the arguments and I've never leased a car but I have been curious about not "owning" a depreciating asset.

Leasing is better than buying a car every 5 years.  Assuming like most people access to a vehicle is a necessity to you, don't think of the car as the asset, the asset is not having to pay for it.  Of course that means being seen around town in an older vehicle, and a lot of people see cars as status symbols rather than a functional tool.

Lot of cases, especially relating to tax treatment, where a lease makes sense. Especially for business owners.

In our personal case a few months ago, we leased a PHEV Jeep Wrangler in order to get the full $7500 EV credit, and then bought it out as soon as we could get a payoff from the leasing company. That's thousands of dollars in our pocket thanks to leasing

If you are not going to drive a vehicle in the ground, and are going to want a new car every 3-5 years, a leasing structure is not a bad way to do it, especially since you generally get favorable cash flows vs. buying to own.  Also, leasing is an easy answer for a business owned becuase then you just deduct the lease payments vs. depreciation (or mileage depending on how you work it).

Anyway, back to the discussion of what a piece of shit Elon is.  He really, really is.

100% on the football fatwa, nobody disagrees.

penelopewitherspoon has dished out 5114 negreps in total.

    Felix has given 4240 negreps.

VRHorn has given out 2477 of them.

Safe sex has done it 2457 times.

JimmyJames is a piker. He has but a mere 2259. Most of them directed at me LOL.

For some of these people, they are doing like ten negreps per day every fucking day of the year for years on end.

Bottom line, your query was correct.

Whiney cunt is both whiney and a cunt, discuss.

Sorry you get called out on being full of hate and supporting people who support treating anyone who isn't a white male as second class.

It's funny that the main people who complain about rep and the Cloak Room are our right-wing posters who are totally cool with the destruction of the Republic and absolutely hate being called out for it.

Got damn that’s a lot of hate..  I love Penelope’s travel posts and never had a problem with her, but I’ve seen a lot of random negs towards her in the travel forum for no reason.  While cloakroom might not be the leading board in negs, I bet most of these people’s negs were gave out in cloakroom or stemming from it.  The random negs on normal posts in other topics start somewhere and end up elsewhere and they go both ways.  To me it’s crazy posters carry a feud to other topics but it happens all the time.

Thank you.  I keep the negging in the Cloak Room and rarely will have one outside of it.  Some posters here need a safe space and can't take any sort of criticism.

I am fucking stoked to be on that list lmao. You losers care about meaningless internet points way too much; it's fucking pathetic.

My only regret is that I'm not #1.

  5. Lol at grown men acting like babies over internet reputation.  I neg trolls and shitty people because they honestly aren't worth the effort or my time.  I rarely neg outside of the Cloak Room unless it's Helo and his Yankees worship cause fuck the Yankees.

The entirety of Cloak Room regulars, so that query would take too long/time out and crash.

    You are an idiot.

imagine that your direct supervisor at your job tells you that you and one of your coworkers are going to be competing for a promotion, and that the winner of said promotion would be whoever made the most sales.

you continue to come into work every single day with your head down, consistently doing your job and making sales. meanwhile, your coworker has stopped coming into work altogether, other than to take his morning dump and steal the newspaper on his way back out the door. your direct supervisor is now repeatedly reprimanding your coworker for this frankly unbelievable behavior while you continue to do your job every day making sales.

they day of the promotion comes, you are excited to receive the promotion, when suddenly, your boss’s boss- a man who has gone out of his way to be a total POS to you on multiple occasions, a man who wears his personal hatred of you with pride- shows up and says, “your coworker is getting the promotion, and i have some new rules for you to follow, and if you don’t follow these new rules you’re fired.” are you seriously trying to tell me that you would just take all of this stride, shrug your shoulders, and accept it as if it was just some totally reasonable and simple request? i don’t think so. not even a little bit.

Lol.  Jesus, you are a fucking beating.

No, thank you. I'm not sure whether new construction in NYC has all those earthquake protections, but I'm pretty dang sure most of the older skyscrapers don't. And I certainly wouldn't want to be in one of those already wobbly super-skinnies.

I am more laughing at the reactions of everyone.  My colleague was freaking out.  I lived in California, so I have been through them before.  This was just a little rumbler.  4.8.

I take a cab when I can find one.  Generally cheaper than Uber.
