  3. I was referring to the Cubs, not the Yankees.
  4. Make that my last three posts that have double posted
  5. It was working fine for me earlier but my last two posts have double posted. Maybe need to add that delay between posts to prevent that.
  6. Tearing down to rebuild isn’t just a small market strategy. One of the most valuable franchises in sports did it too.
  7. A court of appeals just determined Asia was significant enough to overturn his conviction so its tough to say she doesn’t mean shit.
  8. A court of appeals just determined Asia was significant enough to overturn his conviction so its tough to say she doesn’t mean shit.
  9. The Rangers and Astros are usually in the 10-15 range in revenues and are closer to the last place franchise than they are to the top 5 (Yankees, Red Sox, Dodgers, Giants, Cubs).
  10. Yeah, a trial 18 years after the fact is far from ideal but it's a lot better than letting someone continue to rot in jail despite not receiving a fair trial.
  11. MLB is just a totally different model from the NFL and the NBA. The goal of the NFL is to get every fan to watch every TV slot. The goal of the NBA is to get fans to watch their teams on local TV and to also tune into 3-4 national games each week. Neither of those really work for the MLB. For one, there are 2430 regular season games (as compared to 256 NFL games) so nobody is watching every MLB broadcast. There's really no such as an big MLB game prior to September. MLB also doesn't have stars in the same sense than the NBA does that get people to tune in to those national broadcasts. Mike Trout may be as good at baseball as Lebron is at basketball but if I watch a random Cavs game, I'm going to see Lebron touch the ball 80-100 times. If I watch a random Angels game, I'm going to see Mike Trout take 4-5 at bats and make a couple of plays in the field. The MLB model is not to develop a national fanbase but to develop 30 fanbases that watch their team's 162 games and anything else is a bonus.
  12. There’s no debate. The law is clear that when the Constitution says person, it means persons and when it says citizens, it means citizens.
  13. Discounting the inclusion of anyone renders the process unconstitutional. The point is to count persons, not citizens.
  14. Yeah, Austin Country Club moved from Hancock to Riverside in the late 40’s IIRC.
  15. Looking south from about Airport at I35 being built in 1954. The red arrow is pointing to what was then my grandparents’ house on 43rd, which backed up to the Hancock Golf Course back nine before it became Hancock Center.
  16. He carried Mike, who is about as athletic as Derka, to the final in his very first season. He also finished 2nd to Jordan/Sarah in Exes II and won 4 eliminations to make the final. He's definitely been more bark than bite recently though. I think partly that's because he's taken to a strategy of trying to just draft behind Bananas basically and seems to do just enough to survive without whining. He was also medically DQ'd from 2 of his last 4 seasons in Bloodlines and Rivals III.
  17. I went to Glass House Tavern last year before seeing Dear Evan Hansen and it was really good.
  18. Even if being open Sundays did not result in an overall increase in liquor sales, some Monday-Saturday sales would shift to Sunday, so any store that closes Sunday would lose revenue to those that don't. I'd prefer liquor stores (and car dealerships) be allowed to be open whenever they want because it hurts consumers but the industries want those laws as they are basically legalized collusion to keep down overhead.
  19. Driving seems a hell of a lot more dangerous than voting. The age to be prosecuted as an adult should also match the voting age.
  20. I also didn’t really get why people loved Ragnarok. Iron Man, Guardians of the Galaxy, and Black Panther are a clear top 3 for me.
  21. Taylor Sheridan is a strong 3 for 3 so far. Will be interesting to see how his first foray into TV goes this summer with Yellowstone.
  22. Yeah, I"m just assuming good defense and a .700 OPS is what he is at this point. At least until the defense fades as he hits his 30s.
  23. Citizens means citizens. Persons means persons. Article I, Section 2 says apportionment is to be done by counting the number of persons.
