Trump was perfectly happy back in his air-conditioned enclosure playing on his phone.  He wasn't going anywhere near the fray.  First whiff of tear gas and he would have turned on his heels if he even had gotten out of the car.  He had to have the streets cleared of protesters so he could have his picture taken with the Bible.  The scenario you present is indeed terrifying.  But he never had and never will have the balls to put himself in danger of any physical harm or being that close to his ilk when they are all tuned up and shit gets real.  He's not walking in and seizing anything.  He's not willingly going within 200 yards of the Capitol (even riding in the back of The Beast) when that shit was going down.  He's a shit-poster.  He's a meme stock.  He's not Patton or Omar Bradley.

He literally threw a fit when the driver refused to take him to the Capitol. He tried to seize the wheel. He knew his presence would be decisive. When he drives up, the tear gas stops.

What if that SS driver had taken DOtarD to the riot and let him out of the car?

I think we have a crisis of epic proportions.

Are the Capitol Police going to block the President of the United States if he orders them to step aside? Once he is in, would they stop the mob?

Trump makes it to the chamber where the votes are tallied. Do the GOPs unite except for Mitt Romney? They sured backed the SOB when impeached later on.

What does Pence do? I think he resists Trump, but would it matter?

Nancy Pelosi orders that Trump be removed from the chamber. Who tries to do this? There's a mob present.

Trump demands the box of electoral votes or walks to the dais to take them himself. What does the SS do to Senators who choose to physically intervene? Again, the mob presence.

Chaos. The count is stopped. Trump's minions in the Pentagon keep the Army in check. Trump orders the Army to remain where they are. Military mutiny? What happens to Nancy and Pence?

If Trump leads the mob back out, we have less chance of immediate violence. If he tells them to stay, does the Capitol get retaken through military assault?

The world watches what is possibly the end of the Republic of the United States.

Do soft, suburban boys like me take up arms? I doubt it. It's too nice in the living room with your TV and steel-belted radials for the pick up truck you drive to the office in.

Those Secret Service agents were key. A horrible day could have been worse. Far worse.

This goes back to Old Testament times for each of them.

You and I are in agreement on the issues. I just take issue with this line that is often repeated. Jews lived in Palestine prior to the creation of modern Israel. The history of this conflict dates back to the creation of Israel after WW2.

In antiquity, empires were rolling in and out of this area. I'm reading "Jerusalem" at the moment which is a history of that city starting from scratch. Great book. There was no particular animus between what is now Palestine and the different national forms of the Jewish state (comprised of Judah and Israel).

The imperial ambitions and violence of those times were the norm. Sometimes you were on top, sometimes the bottom, sometimes just hanging on.

Again, I agree with where you stand on the issues.

This is an embarrassing proposal that some geniuses on the panel must think is pretty subtle. "You see, we can sanction certain units. It's looks like we're doing something, but we're really not. Nobody will notice. Hee hee."

As a response to "serious human rights abuses," it's a transparent fig leaf placed atop our slavish dedication to Israel no matter what their policies are. We sold them a bunch of 2000-pound bombs a few weeks ago amid the other support for their fake "war" in Gaza. We support a campaign of high explosive bombs against neighborhoods and use of famine to displace an entire population.

I'm thinking Blinken, whom I know nothing about, probably sees this quarter-measure for what it is and how it would play. It's worse than doing nothing. Doing nothing is at least honest even if it's otherwise wicked.

The press ballyhoos this as though the sanctions would mean something. They would mean something to idiots in the press who refuse to think critically. But hey! They got a scoop and have made it into pap for Idiot World. Any moment, the panels on CNN and elsewhere will talk about "signals." What kind of signal is this? That analysis passes as intelligent as well.

American foreign policy is cheap theater entertainment for the masses here. It's worse now that the GOP has decided their interests are more important than the interests of the United States.

    Pathetic.

I'm sorry, but that should be a crime of some sort.  It may be.  Putting jurors' safety at risk seems incredibly dangerous.

It's obvious. It's on the TV. Seems that stuff is irrelevant.

The motherfucker belongs in a cell or home arrest pending outcome of criminal proceedings including what is apprarent treason and insurrection even though we can't call it that because we're the ones constrained by law.

He wanted to be in the lead of the Capitol invasion but was denied by his SS driver.

In summary, execution would be appropriate.

There's some disingenuous bullshit being spouted right now by the media.

ALL Y'ALL ARE REPORTING THE WORK DETAILS OF THE JURORS NOT JUST FOX!

They're proud of that because the information actually takes work to get. It's not important or even interesting to know these things, but boy howdy, those reporters got a scoop!

I get most of my TV news through links on this board. I subscribe to two papers online and receive three magazines. I never have to watch CNN or anybody else. I can only take so much of every news story being boiled down for what it could mean for the election. They're in election mode autopilot.

A huge story about the rise of fascism in America is all around them. No one has covered a story like that before and it's not discussed in journalism school. It won't fit the template of being balanced by collecting quotes from both sides because one side is clearly and dangerously wicked. So it's the same tired talk of the election horse race totally blind to the monster rising from the ground of the infield.

What a tragedy for real reporters. And us.

When I see nonsense like what sheeeeit posted it just makes me wonder how people can be so gullible and dumb.

He's an amateur operative out to help the party. He got the message that this was the way to go after Biden, so he's doing it. Unpaid liar. It's cynical but neither gullible nor dumb.

    It's also despicable.

  8. In an earlier office I worked in, I introduced my self to a woman on one of my first days. She's middle age and working in a cubicle with her framed law degree clinging to the cloth wall. There's the usual tonnage of Aggie stuff around in case there was any doubt (I don't recall where the law degree was from).

"Hi, I'm RomaVicta. Nice to meet you. Looks like you went to A&M."

"Yes, I did, where did you go?"

    "Texas here in Austin-"

    "Ewwwww."

    "- a long time ago."

She got friendlier, and I was never anything but friendly. I didn't say, "you must be a pretty big time lawyer to be working in a state cubicle pulling down middle five figures!"

Like most fellow Longhorns I've worked with, you usually don't know it until you ask or it comes up in some natural context like a discussion of college sports. Usually low key.

I searched the cubicle warren for a Texas Law School diploma, but didn't find one from there or anywhere else. I guess there were none, or they were smart/embarrassed enough not to hang it.

Yep. We haven't done anything to them specifically. In fact, we bent over backwards after their drunken bonfire fiasco to accommodate and they shit on that like the little brother they are. We are the bigger brother who exists and they hate it. Both are allowed to do their own thing and have their own successes. One did and the other didn't. And the one that didn't, despises them for that reason. Had aggy had any sort of success in their history, their disdain for us wouldn't be as much.

OU will always be much more of a rivalry than aggy ever will be. Beating OU means something. Beating aggy doesn't have the same effect. They are just the annoying little brother. Sure, it will be fun to beat them but we have bigger fish to fry. aggy is going to be circling that game every single year. If they go 1-11 but their lone win is UT, successful season for many of their gomer pyle fans.

Yep it's a bigger deal to beat OU, and it's a bigger deal to lose to A&M.

Word is that rehab went well and he is a full participant for practice well ahead of the other QB's for the starting position.  The question is not whether or not he will play another down (he will), but rather how long he will survive behind that O line.

I think an Aggie source that @closetojumping quoted stated that his ankle is still healing which was raising questions about who might start. In fact, as I think about it, I believe it was the head coach himself who said this. Further, medical professionals on this board described how serious the injury and that you don't know if it will heal all the way until it actually does.

I'm not saying Weigman's prospects are dire, but I don't believe they're as assured as you write.

In Soviet USA, National Campaign Office take campaign donations from you.

Sean, we were looking over donations to Trump Truth Defense Fund and see that you have not yet responded. Now more than ever, we need patriots who love America as much as President Trump to stand with him to defend this great country. Make your commitment today to our great country. Tomorrow, I will take the list of donors to the Oval Office for President Trump to review. He will disappointed if your name isn't on the list.

Here is a photograph of President Trump in the Oval Office reviewing the list of patriots who support the Trump Truth Defense Fund.

Cool dude with a good sense of humor.

Sadly, he's neither of those on mass media. He comes across as a humorless homer obsessed with talking about Texas.

"They're kissing their own ass, and that's hard to do." (Regarding Texas from William's appearance on the SEC show) I think he's mastered that himself. It's also not particularly witty. I'm not offended by it, BTW.

These are only “slight misses” and “gaffes”.

How do you feel about the point Biden was illustrating by mentioning his uncle? Trump's stated opinion about losers and his failure to endure drizzle to pay respect to those losers at a ceremony honoring America's WW1 soldiers who died? This would apply to Biden's uncle. You good with that?

Biden should also get some acuity points for recalling that it was the Army Air Corps not the Air Force.

His almost exact words were "he was shot down in new guinea and they never found the body because there used to be a lot of cannibals for real in that part of new guinea"

This is funnier than anything you've posted. You use quotes after you say the words are not exact. I watched the ABC tape, and he says the plane went down in an area of cannibals. His remains were never recovered. Of course, this is just a wind up before he recalls Trump calling veterans losers and letting drizzle prevent him from joining other world leaders at a ceremony honoring America's dead.

Even if we give him him the most gigantic benefit of the doubt in human history

How much of that type of benefit do you give a man who bragged about grabbing women by the pussy, was later found to have raped E. Jean Carrol who was among many women who came forth with stories of his abuse and harrassment, stole from a children's charity, failed at every business he tried, and lies about his devotion to the Bible to vote Trump in as president in the first place?

You can add criminal attempts to sway states to send false electors, a taped conversation of him threatening an elected GOP official if he didn't come up with 11,000 votes, oh! and the fucking insurrection attack on the Capitol. Why don't we throw in stealing and sharing highly classified government secrets and having his son-in-law collect billions from Saudi and UAE?

I guess I should give you the benefit of the doubt, but fuck you and fuck your complicity in destroying this republic.

Negged for the reasons above, of course.

It's okay, they didn't mean to hit a playground. They were aiming at a food convoy.

    Israel Government Press Release:

Tragic. Our hearts break for those dead children. The Israeli ones not the Palestinian ones. It's all about the children; ours.
