  1. If he's doing anything more than asking directions to Blinn, then Elko is staring at a very dark reality that's more like a nightmare. He was told that A&M could pony up to bolster the roster; this suggests (again) that they can't. Bjork, in announcing that they are not an 8-4 program, stated that they would assemble a great staff. They aren't. I'll add to the chorus saying they don't have the money to make a high level assistant coach come work for a schlub who is little more than a highly regarded assistant coach himself. So much risk of landing at a career killer. Elko wishes they were only fucked at corner. Expectations for new coach: Hold the 2022 class together. Keep amazing, stunning, and feared talent on the team in general. Hold a good portion of the 2024 class together. Hire a fabbo staff. Provide the improved level of head coaching that will hold intact the A&M alumni and TexAgs' certainty that for 2024 they are well placed to win the SEC and the whole shooting match. The powers that be made their decision based on those expectations. Here are these upper class twits examining the Sherman tank one of them owns:
  2. Holdovers: loved Oppenheimer: fell asleep, great cast, bloated and confusing film. Compliments to Nolan for his daring. Spirited: abandoned at beginning of third song Love Actually: Become a tradition at Christmas. Great stuff.
  3. The Elk says everything every coach says except for emphasizing how they are going to be a national championship program. They always act like they are already right there on the cusp. They had inspired the fear they so long to inspire. The whole SEC was shaken. Them talking about their natty program is just as cringe inducing as every other way they communicate about themselves. And they're not weird!
  4. Sorry (for you) that you couldn't play at your dream school. Say hi to your pals Drake, LeBron, and whoever else you were star-fucking. I'm sure you're all still tight. Missed you on the Heisman commercials. I'll have to look closer as you're not very big. If you were bigger, maybe you could have made it in the NFL as a DB.
  5. I'm pleased to read this page. We knew our weaknesses with edge-rush and safeties going into this. When they were killing us as we rushed four, I thought, "Why not increase the pressure if you can't stop the completions." Clearly, I'm some sort of football genius because that's what we appeared to do. Pressuring Penix isn't enough, evidently. He forced to leave the pocket or stand in the middle of closing rushers and still found receivers and delivered beautiful passes. Better edge rush and safety play may have blunted their attack. Our problems lie in shooting off our foot on offense with stupid penalties and vulnerability to the blitz, I think. I wonder if Washington saw something about the trajectory of Ewers' passes and actually schemed to bat down passes. Hats off to the Huskies. They hot-dogged it and behaved like dicks, but I compliment their play. So close we were. So promising the future.
  6. Aggie analysis of our game. Carefully curated comparison. I'm sure the world outside of College Station and Katy agrees with this conclusion. The above cuts through and past fluff elements such as conference championships and playoff appearances. I'm sure they will catch up there with Plan 2024 from Aggie Headspace. Interesting hope there, Bill.
  7. If A&M keeps recruiting like this, LSU will be playing for the national championship in no time.
  8. TexAgs will eat that up. No more soft culture! Manly manfulness all around! Elko knows what he's doing!
  9. I must admit to a guilty pleasure in the above. They're not used all the time. Strict enforcement and peer pressure to not use aggy would be too aggy. I now remember a TexAgs post that I C&Ped over here. One Aggie was making a solid argument about something where he referred to us as Texas. The other Aggie, getting his ass kicked, wrote: "It's hard to take someone who doesn't use tu or t.u. seriously."
  10. A few years ago, people on this board insisted that I use aggy rather than the actual name. The Irony Gods were fucking with us. It seems we've stepped away generally. Maybe the dumbest nickname is calling LSU the swamp kitties. It's pre-juvenile. Corn dogs is funnier.
  11. Regarding Ole Miss from Texags. Donations = Money Money = Money I guess he had to fill three slots and only had two items. Their return on their money is well and hilariously documented. That leaves us with Facilities. They are so baffled that the massive investment in a new stadium and player accommodations hasn't paid off. Under Sumlin, they got an upgrade that was first rate. Well that worked, what if we spent $150MM on even better facilities? Everybody will be dying to come here! Maybe, Aggies, just maybe, past a certain point it doesn't matter much. You don't want to have crappy facilities compared to the programs you compete with, but once you're comparable you can relax. But not the Aggies, facilitiesfacilitiesfacilities is another off-the-field achievement they can brag about. 1 This repeated notion is becoming the simple-minded conventional wisdom on TexAgs. All you have to do is let other schools develop them, and, if they become good, you just take them from the portal. Some have suggested that doing almost nothing in high school recruiting would be the smart move. The portal is a player grocery store; just fill your basket and voila! Got yourself a great team. I mean, look how good the portal is working for them now. 2 Translation: We beat them. They did not impress me with their 9* wins. Show me one of their 9 where they were impressive. [Texas is defined by the UH game. Any opinion can be justified with one example!] *I won't count the game where we virtually beat them. Birth of an Aggie fact. I'm just guessing they may be cheating > assertion about cheating > lamentation that nobody will act on this obvious occurence. Answered with congratulations by the first person to host the virus. Now, thank all that is honorable and manly, they have an NIL/College Rules genius to explain the scam: Two things, this guy doesn't get it, obviously, and this is the kind of rationale that has led them to up their own cheating in the past. Sadly for them, that's another tradition that won't do them much good in this new landscape. The unsupported by known facts narrative strengthens: I suspect the top line isn't true, but I don't know. I'm sure someone here knows off the top of their head. Or maybe I should just write I don't know, but I'm pretty sure this is true. Over there, that becomes a fact. Over here, twenty people correct you and a few of them do it with extreme prejudice. At the bottom, a new fact is crowning like a baby-sized turd. Out of nowhere (well out of the vintage where the grapes of sour are stored) comes a goldy oldy moldy Ag Fact:
  12. I think we've carried this conversation to impasse. I appreciate the quality of the discussion, my friends.
  13. You're getting tiresome if you're addressing what I wrote. In fact, you can't break out of the mindset that I decry. I described a disposition where one wants to believe that a fight is between good guys and bad guys. You inferring that I mean to say there are no bad actors on the anti-Israel side is absurd. I've made it clear on this page that the acts of Hamas were unspeakably horrific. If Israel caught those guys and skinned them alive, I wouldn't raise an eyebrow. I'll make my position even clearer: I don't know what the solution is in this conflict. It's complicated and inherent issues such as described by Brisket above may indeed make it impossible to solve through negotiation. I don't know. I don't want the US to have any hand in the slaughter going on in GAZA. Even speaking in terms of being "friends" with Israel or any other nation is a silly notion cooked up for the morons watching at home. We have been allies. Our obligations are lined out by agreements and treaties. If those pieces of paper and that relationship no longer serve the interests of the US, then they must be altered. Our name is tarnished by supporting the corrupt and bloodthirsty Israeli government's slaughter of innocent Palestinians. We should only be offering humanitarian aid. We should never have rolled a carrier up off the coast and stood in that way with Israel. @Brisketexan I appreciate the tone and intelligence of your post about genocide. I think I've described my position for the most part, so maybe we come to foundational point of our disagreement. I will only add that in your description of the two nations, consider the the relative capabilities of carrying out genocide. Israel is an actual nation state with a relatively huge military capablility. Cutting that capability lose to do whatever it may is akin to the US firing nukes after 9/11. Bye, Afghanistan. We can use tactical nukes instead of Hellfire missiles fired from drones. I wouldn't support that level of retaliation. I would be shocked if you would support such a thing. That's what I see going on in Gaza.
  14. Is Israel fighting a state army comprised of a cross section of Palestinian society? If Israel needs to level the place to get rid of Hamas, what exactly would a grass roots domestic campaign of civilians against Hamas look like? It's my understanding that Hamas is not a popular government and its legitimacy, such as it is, relies on an election held 15 years ago where they were not elected based on antipathy towards Israel. Someone here posted a credible polling effort. Palestinians are no more riding with Hamas than Americans are riding with the Mafia or Colombians are riding with whatever cartel is now established there. They have little say. I keep seeing smart people using what appears to me to be rationalizations to support a visceral desire for this to be simply a matter of good guys versus bad guys. I don't believe that is the case in the MidEast at all.
  15. That is an exercise in absurdity. Are we doing okay as long as we're not acting in the way of Iran or Hamas? Is that the standard? None of the named entities seem to care much about the Gazan civilians. Look at all the people on this thread finding reasons to justify what's happening to them.
  16. Well, that's embarrassing.
  17. I had no knowledge of this. I haven't had a convenient Whataburger nearby for quite some time. The World needs Meat Pimp now more than ever.
  18. I talk about no one else. I dream about no one else.
  19. Plenty of all three. With the odor, we're talking the Four Horseman of the Fartocalypse.
  20. There's something creepy and losery about hunting down pictures of this woman (because you found her sexually arousing) and then talking about how unacceptable she is. In the end, you are just talking about masturbating to a photo. I guess it makes the whole thing sorta sad, too.
  21. I launched a life-threatening fart just looking at it.
