  1. It's particularly amusing that they think turning out tens of thousands of Aggie grads proud of being 2%ers will make the world red-ass.
  2. The shoes thing happens in Friday Night Lights. It was moving there because he returns to the quiet empty stadium to do it. It's not a performance for the masses.
  3. He was a great president. He is a good man. I wish that all goes as well as is possible, Joe Biden.
  4. Yep. That's totally different perspective than Incredulity spiking the ball. It was a devastating move. It impacted the election. Still, a large majority, according the votiing machines, shows a public embracing the vile. Or acquiescing to it. Sometimes you call a play that's a disaster. It bears analysis. What is forgotten is that there may have been no effective play to call, only options that still failed. So, in this case, you get wicked brainwashees (to change metaphors) celebrating a murderer because the cops and DA couldn't find a way to convict him or only managed to convict him for an unregistered firearm. Detachment has helped me digest this. It's a hateful pill.
  5. The nodule would make a better president than Trump or you. By the way, how did you view Reagan's clear decline while in office? I know it's not as big a deal as not recognizing a famous movie star. You must have gone bonkers! Thanks for destroying my republic. Don't walk in front of any jet engines.
  6. To be clear, Señor Obtuse, a Biden at half ability supported by a competent staff that cares about the republic is infinitely better than a fucking idiot* supported by totalitarianists dismembering the republic. How bad is it? I'd prefer you as president and it's not close. Well done, fascist. ETA: Also, to be clear, I didn't realize how far the thread had advanced prior to posting. *As described by his first secretary of state.
  7. Looks like Sark is thinking, "what the hell are the Aggies doing on here?"
  8. Yes, but that was before Arkansas swept us. Don't you get it?
  9. Yea, but we got swept by Arkansas which proves that the Aggies, when they're not pressing too hard, are better than us. Common opponent record trumps all, and you can choos which one is definitive! Advantage Aggie
  10. I just don't see tweaking the "message" stems the flow of people wanting to vote for a lying, scamming, raping liar for president. To borrow from Stone's really excellent movie, Nixon, the president stands before the portrait of JFK and says: They look at Kennedy and see who they want to be. They look at me and see who they are. There was some aspiration to the idealized symbol of JFK to accompany the bad aspects of Nixon. Now, you can conjoin the sentences for Trump looking lovingly at his own portrait, they look at me and see who they are and who they want to be. The voters have either spoken or acquiesced. They're redefining USA. There's every reason to think that the successor to Trump might be exactly like him. That seems to be the aim of some posters here.
  11. No. I meant what I wrote. I may be wrong, but never disingenuous. To suggest so is insulting. I mean, if you have a solid grasp of the word's meaning. The millions of droplets you claim are on the internet do not a tsunami make. Alarmists would have us believe otherwise. I'm done. Any more responses would be merely redundant. I conclude that you're an amateur operative working for something I despise.
  12. I've got to say that reaching back 50 years to tie this century's version of woke to the vedy scairy Black activism of the last century smells even more of Limbaugh's delightfully rotting carcass. I'll agree that the current use of "woke," which is more of an attitude than a movement as the fascists claim, does emerge from the Floyd murder/BLM but you overlook the power of Me Too. I'm a little woke and working on being woker. I don't receive a newsletter from some illusory movement. I know of no organization although I'm sure you can comb the internet and find some woke group somewhere that's about as significant as your other evidence. Your study of wokism and embrace of the Trumpist dogma claiming the "Wokies are coming! The Wokies are coming!" makes your intentions suspect to me. Maybe you're adopting that terminology in reference to what the fascists are doing, but your statements seem declarative. You need to believe in a toxic Woke movement as much as the Trumpists need to use that illusion of one to scare voters. They put the phobia in homophobia by painting all of them as predators interested only in sexual gratification. Some of them actually teach your kids!
  13. I just came to check in. My opinion about paradigm shift means I likely don't add much value to the thread. However, I did browse linux examples of supposed representation of the toxic "wokies." One is phone video of a woman I don't know screaming at a man I don't know due to an overaction to a word used in an inane conversation. linux presents another one above. He rants Like his first example of woke-ism, the article from a reputable source that never uses the word "woke," he shares another highly influencial public announcement. Just gaze in awe at how it spread like wildfire to rouse the loathing of whoever linux is talking about. Are you a Limbaugh clone? This was his main technique. Somebody nobody knows or cares about said some crazy shit about how there should be armed negroes at every polling place! The guy's a registered Democrat. Folks, this is what we're up against. Liberalism seeks to turn you all to dependents of the state lorded over by thugs with guns on every corner! You seem to be hunting outrage to generate fear. You say "us" when you mean democrats. I know you're talking strategy to gain power rather than philosophy. That seems to be the way the GOP got where it is today. This will be especially true if we shun the targets of fascist Trumpism which would amount to acquiescence to whatever fate the fascists subject them to. That's capitulation IMHO. I won't be a party to that. The Dems will have diminished what distinguishes us. Should that happen, I'll be like the refugee conservatives on these threads. I'll have no home.
  14. I got a bigger version of the photo now. It's Milton Bradley's Abu Ghraib Twister!
  15. It was torture porn for the masses. Vicarious badass shit. I like the way the documentary leaves it for the viewer to decide. I was persuaded by the analyst and operative who resigned. It's sort of like the death penalty for me. If you could trust those responsible to apply correctly, I think there are plenty of monsters who deserve to die. I'm just troubled by how bad our record is for getting it right. I think the same with torture. It probably can be an effective tool if applied carefully. I think what we get is an American sadist circus.
  16. If they were underperforming, he'd have a point. They're losing. Don't get me wrong, nobody has better losses than A&M, but they are still losses. So, continual losing indicates they are capable of being as good as Texas any year. They use underperforming instead of losing so much that it's like the mandatory t.u..
  17. You guys win. I'm an idiot. Well done. Keep in touch!
  18. I had no idea of my influence or even my place among whatever you think the left is. I've dispensed with great concerns about the next election. It's not really much of a part of the new paradigm. The new paradigm is those destroying the republic versus those who'd like to keep it. I'm on the second side. I know some conservative thinkers here who were once GOPs that feel the same way. Hell, I'm sure plenty of reds, greens, anti-abortion folks are in the group as well. Left and right are way out of the picture. Wake up! Oh noes! Then you might get called woke! Idiot World is winning big.
  19. @linux I'll go dig a bunker in my backyard today!
  20. They also don't have a unified following of hateful zombies anxious for the next idiotic comminiqué to fill the rotten hole where their human brains used to be. They have this: For a war, got to go with the image at top. For a civilization, go with that on the bottom. We're in deep shit!
  21. I did a search in that article for the word "woke." You're applying the notion that allows you to hate to your vision of whatever you think reality is. I have profound objections to grad student thesis/dissertation tyranny over the language. I'm sure one of them came up with the notion of "able-ism." They represent a third party of naive, ivory tower dullards believing they are making a better society by protecting people they never talk to. Retard, a word I love for comedy, is clearly derogatory and hurtful. I'm not sure that "mentally retarded" is offensive or was offensive until the language overlords stepped in. They give us Individual with Developmental Deficiencies which is awkward grad speak. Did anybody bother to talk to that community? That evidently happened with Latinx which came and went under my radar. So yeah, I see a problem with do gooder grad students presuming to explain the world to me. It's not some horrible Wokie crime of the type that seems to get your bowels in an uproar. No intellectually balanced person could conclude from your link anything about being woke. You tried to pull Rush Limbaugh by somehow thinking you justified this bit of hysteria: By accusing a generation of virulent fascism, you show a pitiful imbalance. It's obvious to everyone but you and your fellow travellers, but I'll say it anyway, irony-deafness is a pretty good tell that you're talking to an Aggie, a Rush Limbaugh worshipper, or a Trumper. You sorta lied by saying your link had something to do with defining a wokie party full of evil doers. I won't neg you because it's all so pathetic. Thanks for wrecking my republic. Don't fall out of any windows!
