  1. Can someone explain why aggy is so happy about this? Are they just wish casting that Ewers is bad and the BMDs forced sark’s hand? seems like it’s backwards since Ewers is the 5-star generational QB that Sark handpicked out of the portal. Not sure sark would be unhappy about starting Ewers? You can thread the needle that there’s I situtional dysfunction so it’s actually a bad thing to start a generational talent, but seems like our entire program is aligned behind Ewers…
  2. Quinn must’ve been barking calls today.
  3. Let FCB post his hit pieces in peace, Sark! Jeez! leavebritneyalone.gif
  4. Sorrell, Finkley, Burke (if he fills out) are your Bigger jack. Ovie, DJ Harris, Tapp, dorbah are your smaller Buck. Ojomo, Bledsoe, Swanson play the SDE. Walton is a buck after gaining 20 lbs. Gillette is a Sam in base 4-3.
  5. Alabama runs a 2-4 with Anderson and Turner. talent and fundamentals make the scheme work. Even in the vaunted SEC
  6. Feels like TJ Shanahan is a nice little microcosm of A&M: stumbles out to an early lead through fuckery, puffs his chest out, then proceeds to shit all over himself. They deserve each other.
  7. Well, I guess you should take it as a compliment that your posts are usually substantially more accurate and informative than any Texas journalist, which is why I am latching onto them. It's not me giving your posts power, it's your own credibility. And point taken about my subjective standard. But to be fair, this conversation started with a subjective standard about what info should and shouldn't be posted about recruits.
  8. So to be clearL: you do post non-public info about our coaches and program on Surly, just not the entirety of such info that ends up here?
  9. Fuck Chip Brown has the same "my opinions don't sway recruits, I'm just spilling my thoughts" excuse for the Nik Bonitto situation. Wasn't he just relaying Herman's incompetence? Is it the 'journalist' credential, loose as that is for Texas journalists, that makes the difference?
  10. And what if he comes to a board and sees non-public info about a coach, his sordid past, his slip-ups with assembling his staff, his defensive ignorance and incompetence? If that info is particularly negative, isnt the program going to have to deal with that? Im not talking about college radio and tv commentary, or random posters on this board. I'm talking about posters like you, who are viewed as the most credible and valuable posters on this website, with personal and deep ties not the program and BMDs, and access to non-public info. You have backed up your ostensible insider status with evidence and accurate prognostications, for the most part. Your posts have hte most impressions and responses on Surly. If anything, your contributions to recruiting give even more weight to your opinions, even if your actions seem contrary to your words. You can be the judge about whether your opinions on the coach matter, but to me they matter a lot more than most posters on this site.
  11. I have learned things from Surly and CTJ in particular regarding Sark, assuming they are true, that I have never seen "publicly" on twitter or elsewhere. These go beyond "we lost 6 games and Kansas at home." Things like, the incompetence and timeline of his hiring of Mike Stoops, his total lack of understanding of defenses and defensive coordination (as relayed by people within the program), the lack of consensus for his hiring in the first place, the true depravity of his alcoholism and days at Washington (even his favorite type of tequila and associate nickname). There have been similarly non-public info about recruits: Jaydon Blue's "opt-out" excuse for quitting the team and then associated attempts to get back on the team, Evan Stewart's drug test as the reason for him not participating with the team. Neither of these were particularly bemoaned.
  12. Your point wasn’t about protecting the privacy of recruits, it was the consequentialist point of ‘airing that info could cause the recruit to not go to Texas.’ Which I agree with. I don’t understand why you’d be ok with pushing a recruit away by synthesizing all of the negative data points regarding our head coach into a conclusive “he sucks”, but then be worried about some non public info about that recruit coming into surly being the cause.
  13. 1) since when do you care about airing negative recruiting narratives that could affect recruits considering Texas? Isnt telling everyone who will listen that ‘our coach is an incompetent loser who will never win more than 7 games’ going to affect recruits?
  14. If I’m Addison And there is a substantial lack of promises kept, I’m opting out and heading to the draft healthy. Teams are desperate for elite WRs.
  15. Best parts: 1. the solution to negative media coverage is “get more Aggies on the media.” Just need more loyal party members to echo the ministry of truth, is all. 2. The cognitive dissonance of trying to abide by jimbos “we didn’t pay players, we don’t really even have NIL” with “why are we so behind on NIL, we have the most money”
  16. After 6 months of telling everyone and anyone in earshot that sarklossian and his merry band of loser fuckwits are quite possibly the most incompetent, useless, pathetic group of failed-upwards coaches that had ever been assembled, having committed coaching negligence so egregious so as to border on criminality; after six months of repeating this, the chant has become so effective that surlyans are now convinced that Mike Fucking Stoops would be a step up in coaching accumen. Bravo Dr. Frankenstein, look upon your monster. Contortions too horrible for human eyes to behold.
  17. Criticizing someone for “not being the sharpest tool in the shed” with a quasi-illiterate post is always fun
  18. So we’ll win in spite of Sark with recruiting and offense, even though recruiting and offense are the main things Sark brings to the table. got it.
  19. This is like suggesting that North Koreans are free to say anything they want because whatever they say will be what Kim Jong Un wants them to say.
  20. You are absolutely dripping with “Sark hasn’t done anything good” bias if you believe both that: (1) Kelvin banks would automatically be AT LEAST a 3-year starter at Bama and UGA, and (2) Banks couldn’t be “just a functional online man who can help make our line average” as a freshman on par with other portal options. I understand you’ve got your hill of we suck and all of our good players are transfer risks because sark sucks so we’re fucked either way, but come on dude.
  21. So Sark didn’t address the OL at all because his #1 OL recruiting class won’t contribute this year, but also one of his 5-star OL recruits would be a at least a 3-year starter at bama. Makes sense. got it.
