I believe the point he was making is that because most NORMAL people don't think it's acceptable to shoot people even when they're annoying the fuck out of you.
Pretty easy concept that if you fuck around with enough people, eventually you'll find out. Don't fuck with other people and you don't have anything to worry about.

Easy, their "pranks" are almost all making fun of themselves/each other rather than fucking with other people.

Lulz, person in category of people I despise gets shot so it’s “justified”. Not a good look. Was the dude annoying as all get out? Sure. But whether he was getting converts for the Mormons or selling purple liquid that cleans pans and strips paint, that doesn’t deserve getting shot. No more than the kid that got run over last year. Both perps deserve mucho time in jail.
Have you seen a video of the "prank"? I'm not seeing one anywhere. Can't really comment on it being justified or not without knowing what actually happened.

Public statements vs what really happened are two different things. I don't doubt for one min that Zuck sold/sells all Facebook data. We may never know. Or if their security is so laxed that companies like this one have unrestricted access.
Does anything about this report suggest that this company had unrestricted access? Seems like they just scraped everything that was public. This seems way more "people don't understand privacy" more than "Facebook bad".

if he was anywhere near a good to great coach, they would have extended him right after the world cup. or before it. or they would have re-signed him after negotiating after the new year. or they would have re-signed him after this report's conclusions were released. they haven't. they won't.
I don't think Berhalter should have been hired for a 2nd cycle. He's not a bad coach and he didn't do a bad job with the US. He did perfectly fine and is as good a coach as we've ever had. When he was hired, he had the exact type of resume that we should expect for the USMNT coach. And then he got essentially the expected results along the way (slightly overperforming winning every regional cup, slightly underperforming in qualifying). But getting a 2nd cycle should require more than that so I agree that it's time to move on.
Any time someone talks about how tactically inflexible we were, I really have to question if they even watch the games or if they are just parroting click bait youtube accounts that have been cheering for Berhalter to fail since he was hired. We've tried a bunch of different things tactically and the World Cup showed us varying plans each game. The one part where Berhalter really seemed to lack was with in game adjustments.

1 hour ago, Captain Ron said:I just want to take this discussion on how shitty GGG is a little further:
2022 was the first time that we advanced out of the group stage with a sub 1 goal per game. And we got run off the field against the Netherlands in the R16 game. We had an early chance, missed it (so it goes) and then they dominated that game.
And with our less stacked teams? Let's go back and look:
2014 - 2 on Ghana, 2 on Portugal. Played neck and neck with Belgium and had the ball on Wondo's foot at the end of regulation to advance.
2010 - 1 on England, 2 on Slovenia, 1 on Algeria. Right there with Ghana in the R16 game
2002 - 3 on Portugal's Golden generation, 2 on a damn good Mexico team.
He handcuffed our extremely talented team. I don't get it. He didn't even work to get our best players on the field at the same time. It didn't fit his system.
I get that you hate Berhalter and want to pretend he's the worst coach ever, but you think we got dominated by the Netherlands but that we played neck and neck with Belgium? Come on. Without Howard playing the game of his life, we'd have seen something like a 7-0 score line for Belgium. They had 26 shots on target! I also love the Netherlands game being used against Berhalter when we legitimately played a pretty even game with them, we just didn't put away the chances we got.
Is the only thing that matters goals scored? Giving up one goal in the group stage counts for something, right?

Just keep reading the quotes and it explains it? They were worried about his fitness level. They were also worried about him just walking around not trying at all. It's really not hard to imagine a scenario where both of those are true. There's also nothing mentioning that Gio was expected to go all out in training. The quotes were “walk[ed] around, and mope[d] around the whole time.”, "seemed ticked off”, "did not appear to be trying at all”, and “other guys were busting their tails doing the sprints” while “Gio didn’t do anything.”

it's the most competition TSLA has ever faced. it's one of the more pivotal times in the company's future...and he is off fucking around with Twitter.
how can literally anyone look at his time split and say he is handling his fiduciary duty to TSLA?
If you look at what he's doing at Twitter, seems pretty reasonable that the best thing for Tesla is for him to be as far away as possible.

I may go down in flames, but I'm clinging to my prediction that he's not Gandalf.
Gandalf specifically stated that he never ventured into the east. They could have this go wizard go anywhere. If he's Gandalf, why send him to the one place he made clear he'd never been?
He's a blue wizard.
I'll eat an extra serving of crow, but that's my story and I'm sticking to it.
Gandalf didn't actually say that he'd never gone East in the past. He says "to the East I go not". Maybe they never quite make it "East". Maybe he goes East and we find out why he doesn't go there anymore.

53 minutes ago, shadow_operative said:is there any evidence we've earnestly pursued him? he's way down the pecking order for england, may never play for them, whereas he could have started for us last year and then the next 3 or even 4 WCs as well. guys want to play. i have to think that if we had aggressively pursued him that the allure of being a starter for a good team at the WC at the age of 20 would have been enough to win him over- or that we at least would have heard about said pursuit.
Is there any evidence that he'd pick us? Pefok is probably the most similar to this situation. He wanted to play for France and settled for us once he got old enough that it seemed like it wasn't going to happen. Just based on all of the other dual national stuff we've done under Berhalter, I'd be shocked if we hadn't reached out.

Because he has to actually say yes to playing for us? Seems very likely that his current priority is playing for England. If that doesn't happen fast enough we might have a shot.

It's a January camp for a couple of friendlies where we don't even have a real coach. Having a vet at each spot to help new guys acclimate to the environment is perfect. There should be zero complaints about this.
Soccer fans also get way too excited about people "aging out". Dude turning 28 or 30 doesn't mean he's suddenly trash. It's very unlikely that any of our late 20s to early 30s (in four years) players are going to age out of the pool for the next world cup. They just likely won't be better than the younger talent that's coming up.

4 hours ago, WBT said:We're to the point where most of the national team is getting elite European coaching but we continue to run out mls coaches for the national team. The change has to be jarring and of course the players aren't going to respect them. Hire a real manager.
Is this a problem unique to the US? Our players can't respect an MLS coach, but every other nation can respect a coach that likely came from their national league and has zero experience coaching players of their level? Scaloni had no head coaching experience before taking over Argentina. Tite only coached in Brazil. If you look around at all of the World Cup teams, most of them have coaches that you would likely not consider "a real manager". Guys like van Gaal, Deschamps, and Luis Enrique who have experience at multiple big clubs is not the norm because a national team coaching gig just isn't the goal for a soccer coach.

Gio himself didn't do anything. If they already worked through all his bullshit in camp and are fine with it, it's pretty likely he can work through this.
Claudio is going to have some problems though.

52 minutes ago, Captain Ron said:Look I get Dike was hurt a lot, but why wasn't he seeing time when he was healthy?
Dike was called in to friendlies and the 2021 gold cup when he was healthy. He hurt his shoulder during that gold cup. He could have been brought back in to the end of 2021 qualifiers after having not played that many MLS games since coming back from injury but it's not like he was core to the team at that point. Then he missed basically all of 2022.
The whole "why wasn't this guy called in, he would have saved us!" that has happened in a lot of places after any player who wasn't on the roster scores a club goal (even in a friendly) is fucking stupid. And it's even dumber when the player wouldn't have even been available. It's like people don't actually watch the team or follow the players and just come here to bitch about things.

There was literally not a time when Dike was playing in 2022 to be called in. He played 80 minutes over two games in January, got hurt, didn't play again until he got 12 minutes in July, got hurt, played half of a u21 game in November and then one single minute in the championship before the World Cup. Please complain about him not getting called in.

Obviously a split vote from the players is an indictment on Gio's role but part of a coach's job is to manage egos and prevent situations like this from ever arising. I would like to know much more about this situation before we railroad Gio. Bottom line is, if he was this much of a cancer that they almost sent him packing, why play him at all versus Netherlands. Something is not adding up.
Isn't that Berhalter's whole statement though? There was a problem with Gio. They addressed the problem. Gio apologized. Everyone moved on. All is well. No reason to be disgusted with either of them for what occurred. It's like the situation with Weston last year.
Then this leaks to reporters after the fact, Berhalter's supposedly off the record statement is also released, and everyone makes a big deal out of it. I'm not sure why anyone cares other than to use it to reinforce whatever narrative they'd already bought into.
