  1. A person witnessing the shooting would have seen Rosenbaum chasing Rittenhouse, eventually catching up to him, and then Rittenhouse shooting in self defense. So they probably would not have been trying to detain Rittenhouse as a murderer.
  2. Is this a real question? They both think they are heroes and are trying to play hero. How they are thought of after is entirely determined by who the person fleeing with a gun ends up being. "Good guy with a gun" is fucking stupid.

After the Mexico game, I'm curious to see where Reyna fits. He doesn't fit the mold of what Aaronson/Weah were doing at all. He also can't cover the ground in the middle like Musah/Adams/McKennie. I'd be interested to see Reyna as a false 9 to see how that looks. It's obviously overthinking things to leave him out of the lineup when healthy, but he's not a clean fit into any of the roles the looked really good against Mexico.

Sure, he's more of a wingback than a true right back. But the only time he's ever played any position for club or country other than right back or right wing back has been taking advantage of his versatility out of necessity because other options were unavailable, not because right back is not his position.

His position is very clearly right back. The only reason he ever plays left back for the US is because we have way more depth on the right. With Scally potentially able to backup both sides and Vines healthy again (and the Cannon/Reynolds/Moore right backs not looking as great at the moment), Dest hopefully won't have to move back to the left for a while.

Richards didn't start and Scally didn't even make the bench, so I'm not sure you can give the fanbase credit for clamoring for the lineup that started tonight. There was zero chance that Lletget, Acosta, or Roldan were going to start in this game. This was also essentially the same lineup as the Costa Rica and Jamaica games from last window
  7. Is part of your argument really 18 = self defense but he's 17 so it was murder? Because that makes zero sense. This is an "interesting" case in general because clearly Rittenhouse seems like a shitty person and he's being backed and lauded as a hero by a bunch of shitty people. At the same time, his actual actions here where he shot and killed people were in self defense. Should he have been there? No. Should he have had a gun? No. Was he attacked and then shot in self defense? Yes. Should anyone out there think he's some sort of hero? Fuck no. But he's almost definitely going to get off any murder charge and I have a hard time understanding people who have watched all of the videos of the incident and believe otherwise.

Do people really believe stuff like this? Berhalter is the least experienced person involved with the team with his 17 year playing career mostly in Germany (12 years with the national team) and 7 year coaching career before getting the USMNT job? I get that Herculez Gomez said this, but it's fucking stupid.

If Acosta does anything but just lose the ball starting a counter, there's a numbers advantage on the left side (which was specifically called out in the video). We all know that Lletget does not have the ability to run at that defender one on one. I would argue though, that trying to have Lletget take on a defender to create a two on four with Weah is way less dangerous that getting the ball back to the middle to overload the left side which is what he ultimately tries to do. His decision also didn't kill the play. It's not an "oh MLS players can't think" but Acosta just fucking up which he did over and over in this game and should have been pulled at half instead of being moved into a more advanced position.

    USMNT 2021

This is a terrible video to illustrate the points he's trying to make. As the dude says, even in the US's "slow" play, they are setting up a dangerous attacking chance with a numbers advantage. That just gets fucked by Acosta's awful touch. The whole "see, this is what you get with MLS players, they play slow" and then contrasting this play with a play with involves two MLS players playing big roles? Lol, that uh, doesn't demonstrate that point at all.

I get what we're trying to do with squad rotation and don't entirely hate the lineup we put out (though I'm surprised Pepi and Roldan didn't start, and don't understand Moore over Yedlin at all), but all 5 subs seems like they were pre planned with that rotation in mind and there was zero response to what was actually happening on the field (other than maybe Adams coming on at half). Acosta was the worst player on the field, Bello doesn't look like he belongs on this level (though that's more of a player pool issue), and Lletget was completely anonymous but those three all played 90. That's not how any of this should work even with the reality of heavy rotation. That last 15 minutes of us just booting the ball with no plan while Panama wasted time (even the ball boys running away with the ball?) was a fucking beating to watch.

    USMNT 2021

He was a starter for the USMNT until he got hurt. He's obviously going to have to prove he's back at that level, but it would be shocking if he never saw another meaningful cap even with the increased competition at his position.
  13. Mexico started 7 of the same players they started in the Nations League final. The US had one starter from the Nations League final. Yeah, "Mexico C team", right...
  14. His defender isn't beat. Yueill is stationary with the defender running to him with pressure. Yes, part of the problem absolutely is that Yueill is not a good enough player than running with the ball is a realistic option there.
  15. I don't think Yueill trying to go from a stop to take the ball upfield with a defender who already has momentum running at him is a good idea that is going to lead to any positive outcome. The correct play to me looks like playing the ball to Zimmerman who then has the entire field in front of him, instead of back to Robinson. The lineup was bad but if the idea is to rotate the team a lot for the first two games and then put together a real "top" team from what we brought in for the Canada game and knockout stages, it's not awful. If we rotate the next game and then come back to essentially this exact same lineup for the games that matter, yep, it's going to be bad.

    USMNT 2021

It's honestly hard to believe how stupid you guys are @Napoleon and @ztejas after I have explained exactly what happened. Go to the video @Napoleon linked above, go to 3:18 in the video, set the playback speed to .25, and make it full screen since you are both fucking blind. Watch player #19 on Costa Rica. Watch him entirely miss the ball, kick Reyna (looks like it was actually closer to the ankle than the shin), Reyna take a hop not putting weight on the leg that was kicked, jump into the other Costa Rican player, and then go to the ground holding his ankle/leg that was kicked. No flop there, you are just morons.

    USMNT 2021

You are talking about what happens after the dude kicks through his leg. Yes, after the Costa Rican player misses the ball entirely and kicks through Reyna's leg, he awkwardly hops to the side and into another Costa Rican player. That is after the foul to give the penalty occurred.
  19. goatsaag

    USMNT 2021

Yeah uh... I'm not sure what you're watching. Reyna heads the ball backwards, sticks his foot out to control the ball, and the Costa Rican defender is trying to clear the ball but instead just blasts him in the shin/leg making zero contact with the ball. It's a very clear penalty and there was basically zero argument about if from Costa Rica.

You keep talking about how Pulisic should play the 6 but I'm not sure that you understand what the 6 is. We don't want to pull Pulisic away from the attack.

    USMNT 2021

I've seen a lot of people who want the US to play with 3 (or really 5) at the back, but I just have a hard time seeing how that is going to turn in anything but the US bunkering and hoping to counter. The best lineup involves Adams, Mckennie, and Musah together in the midfield. Pulling on of those guys for an extra center back just isn't something that makes sense to me. If the plan is essentially swap out Yueill for another center back because Adams isn't healthy, ok. I guess that's an option, but I don't see how we'll play with any kind of possession based style in that setup. I would strongly prefer going to a 4-2-3-1 instead of a 5-2-3.

    USMNT 2021

That's what he brings. He gets into good positions at the right times and finishes some of those chances. I don't think he should be a starter and he's might be passed up by enough young guys to not even belong on the roster for the next world cup, but he's not behind that many people yet. But we absolutely need a better plan than Jackson Yueill when Adams is out.
  23. No, unfortunately, people are saying to themselves "THE COVID VACCINE IS GOING TO KILL ANOTHER 30 PEOPLE TOMORROW!" because people are morons who don't realize (or don't care) that Tucker is lying to them.
  24. Should the way he almost folded on the turn impact decision making here?
  25. The validity of the VAERS data doesn't even matter for Tucker's statement. He's just straight up lying about what that data is even supposed to represent. There's no reason to turn it into an argument about the VAERS data or assume that people are making false reports.
