  1. Their OL is pretty much the same from last season, and most of those guys had 2-3 years of experience entering last season. So, there really wasn't much talent left to be developed out of those starters heading into the season. As a result, what we saw from their OL last year, which was decent/average but definitely beatable by good defenses, is going to be about the same we should expect for them this year. Expecting that they are going to be better this year vs last just because of more experience should not be assumed. Case in point: Kelvin Banks, Hayden Connor, and Jake Majors from last year. We had seen what they were able to do with 2+ years of experience. Did we get anything significantly better from them last year? No, they all pretty much met expectations that we had seen over the previous years. They had tapped into their potential, and having that experience starting only meant that our OL didn't have to experience some growing pains of having new players there. To sum up my point, no one should expect anything different out of their OL than what we saw last year just because "they have experience." The "experience" resulted in an average product last year, and we should expect average again this year.
  2. Preseason hype for A&M is always a living example of base rate neglect. Ignore everything you know and all rational thought because this year is different because of one marginal change!
  3. Fansided must pay extra for rage baiting articles.
  4. I'm glad knowing that I will live my life never having to find relevance about the team I root for by posting on a rival team's message board. Tech is only relevant when it plays good teams in any sport. Tech will never be more than a one-off trivia question. Enjoy rooting for a program that has been and will always be perpetually nothing. Enjoy wasting your life and money on that. I enjoy watching watching the same thing happen to Tech and Tech fans every year. Just like Aggies. It warms my heart every year. So, I hope you never change, too.
  5. Yeah, "returning" is the operative word here, which more or less equates to spares since a lot of top starting QBs left for the NFL. Basically, On3 needed a cheap post for their socials, so they did some lazy ranking math to make a post, and Aggie McGoober ran with the results pounding his chest about a top ten victory. Reed was #23 in QBR last year as calculated by ESPN. Aggies shouldn't peak at his pass rating. https://www.espn.com/college-football/qbr/_/sort/schedAdjQBR/
  6. Sark and the staff were comparatively behind other programs in recruiting/evaluating the 2022 class even though it was their first full class. Other programs had been on these players for at least a year. Plus, this was the best recruiting class ever at A&M, so the recruiting landscape was in tilt with dollars being thrown around by Jimbo.
  7. The John Mills decommit last class stings a little bit more now.
  8. I propose we offer to Sark the Surly posters that have the highest put on ignore by other posters count as tackling dummies for the rest of fall camp. Hopefully this can help avoid these kind of injuries plus save whatever sanity exists among this community.
  9. Does he have a preseason power rankings article out yet? I'm truly intrigued to read how he justifies putting something like Texas at #7
  10. I could watch those clips all day. We are going to have a deeper, more experienced, and more talented front 7 going up against those same goobs. I can't wait.
  11. Sorry for the derail, but I saw RSJ and I thought Ricky Seals-Jones. https://247sports.com/player/ricky-seals-jones-12471/high-school-17072/ What a recruiting class that was, and much of those guys did nothing.
  12. There are reasons for optimism with Moore
  13. This is where I am at. He has some top-tier skills, but clear question marks about size and ultimate fit. But Texas is in a great position since it is recruiting at a high level that it can take on someone like Kruel to see how he develops and maximize his skills without pining the Edge position's future on his potential development. There is plenty of talent in that room. Unlike years past when the Edge room's potential was largely dependent on the hopeful development of a player like Breckyn Hager.
  14. Why would someone get a tattoo of Brent Venables on their forearm?
  15. If I remember correctly, Bobby stated in a recent C&F segment that Texas should take a TE this class even though they really like Townsend and Winston and things were looking bleak on the recruiting front. His comments this morning about the staff potentially skipping on TE this class is a reversal and telling of how Texas sees the TE big board for this year.
  16. 2026 Edge recruiting summary: Richard Wesley - commit Bryce Perry-Wright - Wesley fills this spot; commit to A&M. Jake Kruel - likely going to OU; doesn't seem like Texas is really pushing here Jamarion Carlton - TBD Luke Wafle - Big NIL from USC; Texas really wanted this one and there seemed to be high mutual interest Trenton Henderson - Big NIL from LSU; Texas really wanted this one and there seemed to be high mutual interest Kevin Ford - Texas really never engaged Landon Barnes - Looks like Texas did a quick eval, but didn't push this spring. Current Ole Miss recruit. Maybe a fall eval? Dre Quinn - Clemson committ; seemed like it might go Texas' way, but decided to stay closer to home. Seems like one Texas will find room for if things change
  17. Besides NIL offer increases, here is my view on how and where Texas might win "hang around the rim recruitments" in 2025: Sell doubt on the football program trajectory / development / head coach stability. These are programs that have coaches who aren't on the hot seat right now, but a rocky 2025 can cause a recruit to question the stability of the program: A&M: Roseborough, Edwards, Krempin Michigan: Malakai Lee Alabama: Ezavier Crowell, Sam Utu, Xavier Griffin Head coach gets fired. These are programs that seem most likely to fire their head coach this year if things don't go well: USC: Mark Bowman, Luke Wafle, Jaimeon Winfield LSU: Jabari Mack, Trenton Henderson Florida: Kendall Guervil Head coach leaves for a new job. Dan Lanning and Ryan Day have had NFL rumors the past few years: Oregon: Jalen Lott Ohio State: Damari Simeon Head coach is a buffoon (Brian Kelly) LSU: Jabari Mack, Trenton Henderson
  18. Point to where there is evidence that Sark isn't building a foundation from HS recruiting?
  19. Ojo. Gerry is reporting $2M over two years from Tech for a player that was "2nd team all district"
  20. The best North Shore players leave Texas to go nowhere
  21. That's insane, but good for him. I would imagine giving Guervil or any of these recruits that kind of money would blow up the budget for our current roster (i.e. pay comparable amounts to current players). I would guess probably cause it to double, which is absolutely unstable. These poor football programs throwing around huge dollars because of the new rev share cap and their current roster is cheap will have a hard reckoning in a year or two.
  22. I got this guys. I am going to get our streak turned around. You can thank me later.
