It's not the deep bench that it used to be but remember Jerry Seinfeld is still working and taking out young openers on the road with him.

Nick Kroll, Iliza Shelsinger, Dan Levy, the two women from Broad City, the incredible Mr. Gary Gulman, Ari Shaffir, et. al.

I used to wonder why there was this 'inside' joke on late night shows that Jews were the funny ones (I'm a quarter Jewish and a quarter funny).  But when I got older, I met a lot of Jewish writers and comics and realized that it wasn't a stereotype or an insult, it was a reality.  And there's running jokes as to why they've been funny from the Borsch Belt to the re-establishment of Israel to Mel Brooks to SNL.  Sorry Christians, they're just fucking funnier than the rest of us.  But there will absolutely be a huge gap left when folks like Mel Brooks and Larry David are gone.  They were the brilliant ties from the bygone era and the modern era.  But as has always been the case, some  new ones will pick up the mantle and carry the humor torch forward into the darkness.  But to your point---in our lifetime, maybe due to production platforms/show-runners or whatever, we will probably not live to see another universe as hilarious as Seinfeld/Curb.  Glad I was around to see all of it, glad to know so many funny Jewish people, glad they let us in on their twisted sense of humo

First concert I ever saw.  I was probably 4 or 5 years old.  It was at an outdoor bluegrass festival in Eminence, MO.  Even at my young age it was clear he was a badass.

Yeah, my daughter noted yesterday in a discussion on family genetics that our French ancestry (remember, my mom was a coonass) was specifically Parisian.  La-de-da.  I am quite fancy.

Of course, last night, going through a bunch of stuff, I found out that a GGG uncle of mine was big-shit in Mexico back in the day.  He was born in Texas in the early 1800s (that's right, "Coahuila y Tejas" was the state back then).  Ended up being Mexico's ambassador to France trying to talk them out of their Maximilian bullshit (didn't work, obviously).  And lots of other notable offices.  But, to confirm that he was indeed a member of our family, he "died penniless."  Yep, the bloodline checks out.

I don't have to tell you that poverty stalks the streets of Paris.
    Yeah!
Families don't even have enough money for bread.
    - No. - We are down to almost nothing.
Last week, I myself ran out of wool.
    - We have no rights. - No.
    - We have no say. - No.
    - We have no dignity! - No!
We are so poor, we do not even have a language.
    Just a stupid accent.
She's right! She's right. We all talk like Maurice Chevalier.
