  1. I don’t know if you go to games or bother to watch/rewatch the games on TV but more often than not there are WRs open throughout the game. I think Sark is dumbfounded because he can’t understand why his offense hasn’t been able to execute.
  2. The thing that frustrates me the most about Sark is he seems to think his offense is akin to the early 90 Cowboys. Where the defense can know what’s coming but they still can’t stop it. I think he calls plays in the sense where, if y’all execute properly the play will be successful. Which is likely why he called all those zone running plays against UTEP. Trying to force the OL to be able to execute, yet the result was us watching them fall all over themselves. I can’t honestly believe they are executing these plays in practice but maybe they are. But at this point I think there is plenty of game tape and over the next 2 weeks, a few positions should be open for competition. I know Sark treats these games as glorified scrimmages, but he really needs to call a friendly game for what the offense is capable of against Sam Houston so they can have something positive to build on going into SEC play.
  3. He shouldn’t even be put in those situations considering his stature. You can’t make me believe he is executing these blocks in practice. He should be a return guy and a gadget player similar to Keilan Robinson.
  4. I do agree with this sentiment. Maybe they thought it was just because our defense was that good, and would be one of the best they saw all season, and would play better against lesser defenses. Iron sharpens iron etc… Particularly the OL play. If that was the case they need to realize they were wrong and some of those guys just aren’t very good. They desperately need to re-evaluate and figure out what blocking schemes their best 5 can execute well.
  5. I don’t have to pretend. I’ve watched the games and witnessed it. If Arch could get to a 60% completion percentage, make his reads at least half the times, and hit wide open WRs it would do absolutely wonders for the offense. Then we can move on to primarily complaining about how the OL, TEs, or RBs aren’t going to win any games for us. But the QB needs to show up first
  6. I don’t agree that the other issues are greater than Arch, I do agree there are other issues besides just Arch. However the buck starts with him. We need better play from him first and foremost. Just average play from him and we are 3-0 and still ranked #1 in the nation.
  7. I just have a tough time believing a kid from the Manning family is primarily taking his QB coaching from some dipshit named Milwee. And if that is the case, his personal QB coach needs to temporarily relocate to Austin or something. No doubt in my mind the Mannings would already be on top of it if that was the case. IMO the kid has just been a mental wreck. Hopefully he can get right in the next 2 weeks.
  8. If he can’t hire the right people to do this for him now, I’m not sure why we should think him hiring an OC would be any different. Also what OC worth a shit would come here just to get micromanaged by Sark. We hired this dude to call plays, he has brought us back to national relevance calling plays. Rewatching games and watching the all-22 when available displays the play calling isn’t the main issue here. So do we relieve him of calling plays so he can focus more on coaching QBs at the possible expense of the play calling taking a back seat? I’d rather hire a better QB coach.
  9. Play calling looks like dog shit when the TD play is called but aren’t executed. Just yesterday we saw a perfect play call in the red zone only for the QB to over throw the WR. So the choice Sark has is to trust his QB or hope his OL can get the necessary push. Resolving Sark from calling the plays don’t fix either of those issues
  10. We’ve made the semifinals in back to back years with Sark calling plays, and his play calling wasn’t the reason we lost either of those games. Thus far this year the play calling isn’t the problem. The primary issue is the person leading the offense. Unless relieving Sark of calling plays frees him up to go out there and execute for his QB I don’t really get the we need an OC train some of you are on. If anything we need a true QB coach who doubles as a psychologist. Also it isn’t a given anyone can come in and call a better game than Sark.
  11. Yep I saw that too, and there were other plays where Manning just missed his read or refused to throw it. It definitely puts Sark in a pickle. What do you call when your QB can’t execute easy reads? I think he should be prepared to pull him in the Florida game if it comes to that. I am hoping it doesn’t.
  12. I take this back after watching another angle of this play. Wingo did attempt to go get that ball, the UTEP player beat him to it. So back to being a ball Manning just threw hoping for the best.
  13. And while that throw to Wingo was a prayer ball from Manning, I’d like to see him be taught to go attack that ball and catch it instead of waiting for it to get to him. It was 4th and 3 and not 4th in goal.
  14. I think it is to the point he no longer trust his abilities either. But it’s odd he was scared to make that throw to Livingstone but then throws that ball across his body for the interception. He is mentally fucked, all we can hope for is the staff/Mannings can get him right during the bye week at this point.
  15. There would be less gripes about the play calling if the QB play was better. The kid is missing throws he could make in the 8th grade. He needs to stop pressing and relax. I hope his dad and uncles get in his ear about that. And I hope he is throwing to his WRs everyday after practice.
  16. This isn’t texags, I’m sure there was another thread this useless drivel could have been posted in
  17. Key Lawrence is still in school??
  18. Latrell McCutcheon or whatever is still in school?
  19. Do you watch the games? The issues go beyond Sark, execution by the players is a big part of it too. If you’re holding your breath trying to wait for Sark to find a way to scheme around the players weaknesses in the redzone good luck. Everyone needs to be better, this isn’t just a matter of Sark having play callers block in the redzone.
  20. It seems people are concerned about the lack of explosiveness from the RB position, which includes Baxter. We don’t have a burner back there, but I don’t necessarily think we need one for the offense to be successful. They need to average 4+ yards a carry and I think they’ve done that. I thought it was clear Jamaal would be special in high school, oddly enough early on I didn’t think he’d be as good as his older brother but he put in the work, after watching Brooks in his state championship game I figured he would be too.
  21. Not sure I get the complaints regarding the run game. I mean yeah they aren’t Jamaal Charles, Bijan Robinson or even Brooks, but most teams don’t have one of them either. They been steady and very low on the list regarding issues on offense. I think this team is really missing a Keilan Robinson type of player though, which is odd because I thought Sark but a focus on recruiting speed.
  22. I’m pretty sure the answer would be it is something being handled internally. Regardless I certainly hope he is better than Baker when he is able to return.
  23. You can’t make me believe they are ever even successful in practice with the personnel we normally run them with. No hate to Niblett but he should never be the primary blocker on a WR screen.
  24. Not sure I get the Bama takes. They weren’t very good last year and look worse this year. I don’t think that FSU team is very good either. We’ll see.
  25. No I understood it perfectly, however you implied in your previous post the issue is Sark/play call when that wasn’t the issue as you just stated in your follow up post. Arch made the wrong read, he had the underneath route wide open. We have ran that play successfully multiple times over the past few years. One of the two routes are always open, the QB has to make the right read. And the read can’t just be made pre snap. Look deep, if the corner gets depth take the underneath.
