  1. This is crazy talk, if he stays healthy he will get PAID.
  2. You want to put a surly flag football game together and find out?
  3. I know some of you have never played football before, and the expectation is that WRs are supposed to catch everything thrown their way, but when you take reps from your QB all week long and then the game comes and his ball placement is completely different it throws you off. Being that everyone is "dropping" passes I think that is part of the issue here.
  4. Y'all keep putting this on Sark but there were open WRs all game. Execution is the issue, not play calls.
  5. Romance wasn't the fastest player on his team(Jamaal) and I'd take Worthy over him too.
  6. Some of you live in a world where once the ball leaves the QB hands whatever bad happens is everyone else's fault when it comes to Ewers. This offense has too many weapons for the offense to struggle against teams like Rice, and Wyoming. Even if we are running the most basic offenses we should be scoring at will and we aren't because Ewers just isn't consistent. He has bad mechanics and doesn't go through his progressions/read the field well at all. Starting to believe he just isn't that guy.
  7. I'll pay more attention during the upcoming draft next year but outside of a 5 star mention here and there I don't remember recruit rankings being a talking point. I've seen the articles, but those are more for the recruitniks. Casual fans don't really seem to care come draft time.
  8. Makes no sense to me. I don't remember recruit rankings being a talking point at any point during the NFL draft. I doubt very seriously many people go back to see what these players were ranked after being drafted.
  9. Shipley and moreso Cosby were basically grown ass men in their tenures here. They were both nails though. Same with Duvernay, they all seemed to catch everything thrown their way. With that said none of them were as naturally gifted as Worthy and despite the drops he'll likely finish top 3 in most WR stats in only 3 years and that's with him only getting really good QB play atmost 1 1/2 of those years. I get it that some of you don't care for him but he is definitely top 3 imo.
  10. Never said anything about a glaring weakness. My take is while I’m happy he hit on the deep balls there is still room for improvement. Both Worthy and AD made really good catches but had either one dropped those people would have come down on the respective receiver when Ewers could have given them much easier passes to catch. My take is I'd much rather him work to get better on his placement on deep balls instead of having the WRs have to make difficult catches as the former will increase the success rate. We also saw a number of "drops" throughout the game and I'd wager it's because those balls weren't being placed where they normally are during reps. I suspect the Bama WRs were able to make a number of difficult catches because that's what they are used to in practice.
  11. I believe one person said it was an awful pass, just about everyone else is saying he could have made it an easier catch for his receivers. This reminds me of last year when some had their criticisms of Ewers after the OU game and were told to shut up because he played a great game and then those same issues became more present the rest of the year. I’m glad he hit on the deep balls but I hope he continues to get better.
  12. Jerrin’s biggest mistake on that bomb to Burton was flipping his hips and losing leverage on staying on top of Burton. He had inside help from Crawford so there was no real reason to react to the inside move from Burton in that manner. And if Milroe wanted to try and place that ball perfectly between them then good luck with that, but you take that instead of letting him throw a layup.
  13. This was issue #1 for the Milroe camp. And this was issue #2 Both played a part in him decommitting

  15. Maybe you don’t fully understand what you are reading. I stated in my initial post on the subject the throws were an improvement and then someone replied and said at least one of them was a perfect throw.
  16. I don’t think you fully understand what you are watching. Worthy had to make a tougher catch but in both instances there was enough green grass for Ewers to make easier passes for his WRs to catch instead of the tough over the shoulder grabs. There is more to throwing a good deep ball besides leading the receiver. Again a prime example is Milroe throwing to the open space on the Burton deep ball instead of throwing it on a line and Burton having to turn up his route and make and over the shoulder grab.
  17. The deep ball throws for TDs were an improvement but they weren’t great and certainly didn’t make it easier on the receivers. As someone pointed out the throw from Milroe to Burton is what those passes should have looked like especially the first one to Worthy. Ewers seems to throw them right at his receivers instead of in the open space for them to go get. But whatever works, I guess. Also that pass that Mitchell dropped was late allowing time for the DB to recover but Mitchell should have still snagged that one.
  18. Anybody know why Catalon only played like half the game.
  19. It’s a 4th down thing to prevent intentional fumbles and it’s not specific to QBs.
  20. That was fun. Without reading this thread I bet a bunch of you pessimistic ass pussies conceited the game when we went down 16-13. Hell of a game and I wouldn’t even say that was our best effort.
  21. More Baxter and Blue and less Brooks please. Sark is calling a great game, drops by Worthy, Brooks, and a terrible missed block by Sanders is why we don't have 20+ points right now.
  22. Look for a note to come out this week, that the staff hasn't given up hope on Corian Gipson, and there is growing confidence we can flip him down the line.
