  1. Been off here awhile. All tests indicated my tumor was confined to my prostate. Had RALP surgery on 5May. Path report came back concluding no sign of anything outside the prostate capsule. Been continent on the urinary side since about 2 weeks after surgery. Just a little leakage on occasion. I only use the little pads for men just in case. Last week or so, I’ve only had to get up once or twice to pee at night. Still waiting for my little soldier to salute again. Doc has me on the Cialis regimen for that. Nerves just being really slow. But it moved a little yesterday. So there was that. On a physical therapy regimen to strengthen my pelvic floor muscles. They are working me over. At least the two PTs I have assigned to me are cute. Thoughts and prayers to all still fighting the fight, awaiting tests and test results, surgery and additional treatments. Fuck cancer! Hook ‘em!
  2. Hate, will do. Thanks!
  3. Thanks, I appreciate your encouraging words. Best wishes for you and yours as well.
  4. Sbbruin, I agree. Not a club to want to or wish anyone to be a part of. thanks for the encouragement. Hook ‘em!
  5. Thanks for the advice. I’ll check into it.
  6. I do live near Katy, just West of Houston. My Urologist is with Methodist, and seems to be highly regarded. Gotta look into getting second opinion with MD Anderson. Anyone that has know the drill about getting in there? I’ve already heard all kinds of stories.
  7. Thanks for the advice. Already researching. I have some background knowledge from my years as an Air Force medic. Seems to be a lot of treatment advances and options since I retired in 2008. Lots of information to dig into and digest.
  8. Well, looks like I’ve joined the club. Got the biopsy results this morning. Gleason score 7 prostate cancer. 68+ years old. Sheduled the PET scan and MRIs already. Will sit down again with my Urologist after the PET scan and talk game plan. Yeehaw……..
  9. Oh, boy…..here we go again.
  10. Just talked to Gabe and bent his ear about reaching a long held dream of mine. Finding and buying my slice of Texas dirt and building a casa on Rancho Dachshund. It didn’t take him but a few minutes to work out a potential plan that now puts that dream within reach. I honestly had begun to think that as I became a member of that august group ( Old Farts Club) that I might not see that become a reality. I look forward to working with him to make that happen. Gabe , I think you are a gentleman and a scholar, no matter what others on here might say. Hook’em!
