  1. "Shaka covered the spread" after a loss isn't going to get you far.
  2. Feels like a must win for OU at home tonight. If they can’t beat TCU at home not sure they’re gonna find 7 or 8 wins in conference play.
  3. Yup. Texas doesn’t have a freak athlete on the roster and both those guys are freaks.
  4. Yeah, but that’s why the AP Poll is worthless. It has zero value and why I’ve wondered team accounts tweet the AP Poll rankings vs the NET rankings. One of of those matters and the other doesn’t.
  5. BWG really does suck. If Texas went 2-0 with 2 quadrant one wins in the same week with Shaka, he would be celebrating on Twitter and telling Texas fans “see you can’t do better than this.” BWG’s tone is completely different after every game with Beard and it’s to the point it sounds like he’s actively rooting against Texas. He’s a hypocritical bitch.
  6. That's pretty much everyone in college basketball this year outside of like 2 teams (maybe).
  7. I think On3 consensus is the best moving forward. It's the only site that utilizes all 4 major recruiting sites (I.e. Rivals, 247, ESPN and On3). Unless I'm mistaken, the 247 composite doesn't calculate the On3 rankings yet. I think that's problematic moving forward because On3 is stealing a lot of the best talent and will have the best recruiting site soon. Similar to the Rivals to 247 transition with Shannon Terry. https://www.on3.com/db/arterio-morris-7681/industry-comparison/
  8. These are the few teams I looked at really quick. Texas has a better resume (or at least comparable) to these teams from that list. Texas: #17 NET, 3 Q1 wins, 7 combined Q1 and Q2 wins. Davidson: #46 NET, 2 Q1 wins, 3 combined Q1 and Q2 wins. UCONN: #16 NET, 2 Q1 wins, 6 combined Q1 and Q2 wins. USC: #27 NET, 2 Q1 wins, 6 combined Q1 and Q2 wins. Ohio State: #21 NET, 3 Q1 wins, 5 combined Q1 and Q2 wins. Michigan State: #18 NET, 3 Q1 wins, 9 combined Q1 and Q2 wins. They also have a bad loss in quadrant 3.
  9. For anyone interested...... On3 has Arterio Morris ranked at #11, Dillon Mitchell at #12, and Brumbaugh at #78 in the new recruiting update.

  11. People are drastically undervaluing the wins Texas has based on the quadrant system. This is now 7 after the Tennessee win. The problem is people don't know what qualifies as a good win based on the quadrant system.
  12. Lol almost every ranking system has Texas ranked near 15. Kenpom #15 NET #17 T-Rank #13 BPI #17 Sagarin #16 The only real outlier is KPI at #37.
  13. Yeah @Catdaddyhorn brought this up earlier in the thread. The OU team a year after Trae Young went 7-11. I think there's a good chance of it happening again this season.
  14. It's a common theme on twitter and not just Longhorn fans. I think you would be surprised by how many average fans don't understand the difference.
  15. I've seen HS players with more technical ability than Zardes. This dude gives me the major sads.
  16. I believe he had injury issues but he definitely played in enough games last year where the RS shouldn't be in play. So it has to be the Covid redshirt designation I would think.
  17. Lewis is a beast but he's a RS FR. He already looked like a monster before Shaka.
  18. I need someone to explain this one to me. Texas is 46th in offensive rebounding percentage and 201st in defensive rebounding percentage. What's the disparity here? My only thought process is Beard's defensive scheme leads to issues on the defensive boards but I'm pretty sure Beard's defensive rebounding numbers weren't bad at Tech (need to go back and look though).
  19. Yeah, there are going to be a few Big 12 teams with bad conference records. There is no chance the NCAA committee is only taking 4 or 5 teams from the best conference in the country when the PAC sucks, the ACC is the worst it’s been in years, and the big 10 isn’t as strong as it normally is. A couple sub .500 Big 12 teams are going to make tournament.
  20. Yeah, you arguing “we wouldn’t know the result for Shaka at Texas with transfers” is really a nuanced position with 6 years of data and no tournament wins.
  21. T-Rank win percentage for the final 10: @ Tech 34% Iowa State 73% Kansas 63% @ Baylor 23% @ OU 50% Tech 63% TCU 83% @ WV 66% Baylor 49% @ Kansas 34%
  22. Yeah, but the same is true of half court defense. Tennessee hedged hard all night in the half court with those athletic guards and we didn't have the athleticism to beat them off the dribble. Tennessee had the same amount of success in half court defense as they did with the press but the turning point was Tennessee started making shots on offense. I'm not sure it's IQ as much as Texas simply doesn't have any special athletes at guard. Regardless, there are multiple ways to give Texas issues with our guards. My personal opinion is I would try to limit fast break points with Texas because they struggle to score so much in the half court. The press would probably give Texas issues but it would also lead to easy buckets. I think Texas would take that trade off.
  23. Yeah, but you can generate the same result against Texas in the half court. Tennessee bothered our guards just as much in the half court by hedging hard all night. We don't have guards that can beat anyone off the dribble. Pressure doesn't have to imply full court press. Texas turns the ball over just as much in the half court as they do when teams press. For a team that already struggles offensively in the half court, turns the ball over a lot, etc my guess is they would love to get a few easy baskets from full court pressure.
