Fire Kyle Flood
This will be the first real litmus test for Sark.

This is who Steve Sarkisian is.
I'm talking roughly equal talent. If you want to split hairs, tOSU was more talented than Texas last season. To be clear, I'm not happy with the results this season. Not addressing the OL in the portal was inexcusable. Does that mean we burn it all down and go after the newest shiny object? I'm not there yet.

This is who Steve Sarkisian is.
Aside from the first UGA game, every game we've lost the last 3 years has been in the margins. Some of that is on Sark (goal line playcalling comes to mind). Some of it has just been bad luck (Auburn choking in the SECCG). I wish he were Saban but he's not (neither is Lanning btw).

So he wins when he has a clear talent advantage and has mixed results when he doesn't. Sounds familiar.

What makes Lanning "the guy" again? Doing the cutthroat thing while coked up on the sidelines? He and Sark have roughly equal resources and neither have won the big one (although Sark has come closer). Barring the wheels completely falling off, Sark has built up enough good will to be here at least through 2027. Doesn't mean there aren't better options out there (there usually are), but that's the reality.

Predict the rest of the season
The OL isn't getting fixed unless they open the transfer portal mid season.

Texas O-line talk
Crazy they thought this group was championship caliber. We needed 5 transfer DTs but not a single OL?

2025 Game Week 5: Texas at Florida
Isn't that kinda the whole point of having a staff?

Could this be the craziest coaching carousel of all time?
Never said anything about the deep south. But yes, NC is obviously a southern state. Anyway, what Cignetti has done at IU is more impressive than anything Kiffin has ever done. He seems like a complete douche, but most good coaches are. Hopefully he stays in the B10.

Could this be the craziest coaching carousel of all time?
Saying "States on the periphery of the south that have pine trees are The Deep South" implies that the entire state of Texas is the deep south, which is not at all what I said.

Could this be the craziest coaching carousel of all time?
Not at all what I said.
-
Could this be the craziest coaching carousel of all time?
I'm referring to states areas on the periphery of the south where people might actually debate the question (Texas, Oklahoma, Kentucky, etc.).
-
Could this be the craziest coaching carousel of all time?
Louisiana isn't the deep south but Kentucky might be? You're overthinking this. I have a very simple rule: are there pine trees? If yes, you're in the south.

Oregon at Penn State NBC
Just prior to the interview. He was 100% coked up.

It's been discussed here that Lanning comes across very Herman-like. I think we've found the common denominator.

Arch Manning: Scores every way possible
Second play. Probably would've been blown up against better competition.

Tell me about ou
That was fun. I'd rather have another national championship though.

Tell me about ou
Leach and Briles both ranked us 5th: https://www.espn.com/blog/big12/post/_/id/1143/usa-today-coaches-poll-raises-a-few-eyebrows

Tell me about ou
Didn't Leach rank OU several spots above us, giving them the fraction of a point they needed to play in the B12CG? I've never understood the love affair with him on Texas message boards.

Texas Football 2025 - Seven Win Steve Rides Again
None of it matters. Go 11-1 or 10-2, we're in. Go 9-3 or worse, we weren't winning the title anyway.

SEC Catch-all Thread
Seems pretty even year-to-year. I like it.

Texas Recruiting Notes 2026: Boulevard of Broken Bagmen
They've had swamp ass their entire lives.
-
SEC Catch-all Thread
They'll still be playing teams from talent hotbeds more often than not. The schedules will have zero affect on recruiting.

Nebraska is Hopeless
Seems like NIL would give them a lifeline. Why else would anyone go to Nebraska?

This is who Steve Sarkisian is.
Don't think they've gone under center all game either. Who knows if any of it makes a shit given the opponent, but it's pretty clear they went back to the drawing board after UTEP.
