  1. This is the twitter pic of the kid. He will fit in well at A&M. Nothing says "aggy rich" like flashing the big bucks on camera. Grab a stack of $1s, throw in a $20 or two, and you too can scream "redneck rich." It is as if this kid was destined since birth to experience the "opulent wealth" that characterizes Texas A&M, "the wealthiest public university in the known galaxy®!" He might as well already start picking out that tract home in Katy. He's a 2.5 gpa, a couple of trade school-level classes, and a few televised nut squeezes away from a Texas A&M diploma. Hell, this kid might even be silly costume and jizz jar material. You know - "elite aggy." On a slightly different note: "There are lots of Aggies who are terrible people. Mond isn't a terrible person but deserves some criticism. Giving a pass to someone just because they went to the same school as you is ridiculous. You'll find that out there first time someone uses their ring to con you." https://texags.com/forums/5/topics/3141360/replies/57482968 aggy self-awareness.
  2. It's essential in aggy culture to have low expectations in life.
  3. He's come a long way since his boyhood home in Appalachia. He had a cement pond back then, too. His College Station home captures the essence of life in West Virginia, except that West Virginia has fewer raw sewage spills. Trivia fact - Jimbo grew up about a 40 minute drive from where Nick Saban grew up as a kid. That's his mom. I'm pretty sure he took the job at A&M because aggy women reminded him of his mom. Just taller. aggy women are, on average, closer to 5' tall. I think Jimbo is about 5'2", so his mom looks to be about 4'8". Those velcro sweatpants Jimbo is wearing look like they are from the kid's section at Walmart. Jimbo personifies aggy culture in this picture. If only the house was a tract home in Katy (obviously, Jimbo had some aggys handle the landscaping). Jimbo not wearing a hat. His mom giving the aggys the "FU" by putting her foot on the grass.
  4. Jimbo not only gets to hang around town, his job is to essentially "swing for the fence" on every pitch. Every season he helps push the "roller coaster of hype" and when it falls off the tracks, they blame a call or two on a random ref who did nothing wrong, UT Austin (always), they turn on their "hero," and proclaim "wait until next year." Wash, rinse, repeat. Since 1894. Think of the aging slugger. Jimbo was hired by John Sharp personally to play designated hitter. Jimbo wasn't hired to be the Bobby Bowden of A&M. He was hired to be their Hero! Jimbo's job is far easier than people imagine. He knows he doesn't have to do the work of a Scott Frost, Chip Kelly while at Oregon, or Dabo at Clemson. No one is asking Jimbo to "climb the stairs" one step at a time. Jimbo doesn't have to put the effort into maintaining the level of facilities, asking donors for money, actually competing for recruits. None of the stuff that really challenges head coaches. Jimbo is guaranteed. We all know his actual job is to "push the roller coaster of aggy hype." Few people knowledgeable about college football or Texas A&M expect Jimbo Fisher to last 10 years at Texas A&M. We all know he will never work as a coach again after A&M. Jimbo is running out the clock on his coaching career, swinging at the fence but not building the program, and aggy doesn't have a clue about the long-term forces at play. Hell no! Swing for the fence every season! Buy the trophy now! Exhaust the financial goodwill of the alumni base! If a program has the money to throw at facilities, that approach can get you to a chicken sandwich bowl in the good years, and playing in the First Responder Bowl in the tough years. Which is exactly A&M's track record.
  5. They don't know their place. They fully believe they are among alabama and lsu and not SC and arkie. Personally, I do not consider a given college football team to have "been in the hunt" for the national championship if they didn't at least finish .500 in conference play. Most legitimate teams at least accomplish a winning record in conference play. 5-3 in the S!E!C! gives a team the right to claim to have been "on the verge of winning it all." I challenge anyone to offer a legitimate metric for "extreme excellence" in college football lower than a winning record in conference play. It is beyond generous to equate "above .500 in conference play" with "excellence." I'm trying to shade the argument as much as anyone ever has to A&M's favor, while keeping the metric one that can be legitimately defended as "reasonable." It has been a quarter century since Texas A&M has had back-to-back seasons with a winning record in conference play. The aggy alumni and supporters have completely lost touch with the concept of establishing reasonable goals toward building a competitive program and holding people accountable for achieving those interim goals. Step-by-step is how success is generated in any large-scale endeavor. I think even Jimbo has lost contact with the concept a "building a program" and instead has fallen into "the trap of unending futility" which is the belief that somehow Texas A&M is "different" in a way that allows them to just "find" championships, not having to build toward them. Programs perpetually struggling to finish above .500 in conference play have a consistent and easily identifiable problem - lack of leadership. aggy will never break out of their cycle of perpetual struggle until and unless they have a sharp change of leadership (swidt?). The change would need to be cultural. They would need to accept they actually have to work toward building something, and to admit their previous "savoir as hero" culture that expected just "one final piece of the puzzle" was completely misguided and a product of perpetually poor leadership. Never. gonna.happen. Not only do the people of Texas deserve better than Texas A&M, the people of Texas A&M deserve better than Texas A&M.
  6. Here is a short video off the Vanderbilt website. Vanderbilt endowment of almost $7B (roughly same as Rice). The $ value of research spending at Vandy ("research dollars" being a very important metric for aggys) is equal to that of Texas A&M, College Station. Tuition at Vandy is about $75k/yr. 7:1 student-faculty ratio at Vandy (24:1 at A&M) 6,700 undergrads, 6,500 grad students. Meanwhile, A&M has a 2.5 GPA requirement from junior college for guaranteed transfer acceptance. On a case-by-case basis, students to struggled to barely get a 2.0 at junior college are accepted with open arms at aggy. Which is why they have over 70,000 students. Vandy is (gasp!) ethnically and culturally diverse. Their sports teams actually win NCAA championships. And the aggys think the Vandy crowd was in awe of that which is Texas A&M. Fucking hilarious. They might as well be claiming the guy in the new Porsche was jealous of the redneck's pickup because in his Porsche didn't have as much space to haul cow shit down to fertilize the 'tater crop. No one with even reasonable exposure to the other universities around the nation is impressed with the campus, culture, or quality of education at Texas A&M, College Station. Nor should they be. I doubt any person who attended Vanderbilt wished in any way, shape, or form they had instead attended Texas A&M.
  7. Some of the dumbest people on Earth. The people of Texas deserve better than Texas A&M.
  8. Their most basic problem is cultural. The ”aggy experience” hasn’t changed over time enough to be attractive to a wide base of recruiting prospects. Alienate the mainstream of recruits and you are going to eternally suffer from easily identifiable weaknesses in any major, competitive team sport.
  9. Worry about today’s problems today, and tomorrow’s problems tomorrow. Right now aggy has a huge hole in their athletics department finances (as do all programs). They need to find the money for that before they worry about Jimbo. My guess the the SEC home office gets a huge line of credit against future rights payments and gives each program “advance rights distributions” to provide the money for the athletics department shortfalls.
  10. aggys are evidently struggling with the concept that students at public universities can't be physically abused for amusement of racist rednecks. Some "liberal" is trying to undermine our national defense by keeping the "fightin' Texum negro killers" from practicing "turditions."
  11. “The King” needs a success to justify his fees. “Success” used to be pipelines into major D1 programs. He needs “his guys” to kick ass, but “his guys” don’t always do all that well. Look back to his bullshit on Twitter when Toniel Carter wasn’t getting carried at UT. The same Toniel Carter who transferred to Sam Houston and, against lesser competition, faded into obscurity. But FK didn’t hesitate to blame UT and everything associated with it for Carter’s lack of success. Fuck FK. He sells hope. Often false hope. And blames everyone else when what he should be doing is being more honest with the kids he is working with.
  12. aggy culture is about hero worship. “Bear,” Jackie, “wrecking crew,” “Fran,” “Johnny 8-ball, “the 18” black cobra,” “Chief,” “Jimbo”.... It’s what they do. And when it finally becomes obvious to them (usually well after everyone else has seen reality), they turn on their hero, attaching like Velcro to their next “hero.” Wash, rinse, repeat. aggy’s salvation over the past 10 years is they haven’t been losing to teams they shouldn’t lose to. Their problem has been the inability to upset higher ranked teams. When aggy starts upsetting higher ranked teams more than once every five years, or starts losing to teams they shouldn’t lose to (So Caro, Arky), that is when their fortunes change. Until one or the other happens, aggy will continue to insist “their hero” is the last piece of the puzzle. And cry like little children out of continuous frustration. It’s what they do.
  13. aggy porn. 1936. I think it was homecoming week and they were picking their dates.
  14. I can't get the game on Spectrum cable (according to the guide), but evidently an ESPN streaming service is offering it. Not going to be watching it, although I am curious to see if/ when they start booing Mond and "his type." (it's funny how a white man can commit treason and outright murder in the name of white supremacy and be an aggy hero, but if a black man speaks of injustice or chooses not to play college football for personal reasons, he is a "quitter" and denigrated in aggy culture, but that is for another time).
  15. The Texas A&M "Fighting Negro Killers" have a top 10 team and their fans are scurrying like white mice to find what streaming services are showing their "prime time" game tomorrow night. Seems like a good excuse to revisit the aggy iPhone rant of a few years ago. aggy self-awareness at its best. This is from 2015, when their program was in the middle of a slow, frustrating downward slide that would lead to the firing of their coach and having to take the program in (yet another) new direction. As this wise aggy said "its about the program's footprint as a whole which is more than just wins and losses." And how's that "footprint" treating you these days, aggy? Top 10 and still having to wear out F5 to watch "big boy football." Whoop!
  16. I hope you weren't going for humor there. For some of us, it's still too soon.
  17. I had to post this in the Nebraska thread.
  18. “every single one of the slaves descendants should be thanking their lucky stars that their ancestors were sold to come to America. Their lives would be 1,000,000x worse off if their family tree never left Africa.” https://texags.com/forums/16/topics/3139311/last#last The people of Texas deserve better than Texas A&M.
