That is the same with our league. 10 and 11 rec league teams still have some decent players and numbers out but once you hit 12 there are about half the number of teams due to kids moving to select teams.
I actually don't have a problem at all with that as by 12/13 kids have matured enough to have an idea who is cut out to play more competitive baseball and who isn't.
I would say that you don't really see who is cut out for more competitive ball until 14 years old.
12/13 is an extremely awkward age group due to the big variety of growth patterns. There are too many physical mismatches with this age group. This really stands out with 7th grade football where there are huge differences in weight.
By age 14, most kids have hit puberty and the physical size differences are not as extreme. Plus the difference between the speed of 14U baseball and the early age groups is night and day despite the fact that 14U has fully transitioned to full size 60/90 fields. By the end of Spring a 14U Majors team can easily go toe to toe with a high school JV team. This is apparent when the 14-16 year olds all play 16U together in Summer ball.
I think kids should continue to play Little League at age 12 and enjoy it as much as possible. A majority of the 12U select kids will not be playing baseball by the time they get to high school. There is no reason to give up community based baseball which is awesome at the age of 12 years old.

Some of the kids they have working the younger leagues just fucking kill me. You can see by the look in their eye they don’t know what the call is sometimes and they just roll out something to move on.
Yeah it's pretty bad when that happens. It's even worse when an overbearing coach seizes the opportunity to bully the kid into favorable calls. I've seen that happen a few times. Then there is the opposite where the kid usually an older one has the "you are in my house now" attitude.

Once they see someone coming for their wealth and the power that comes with it, they’ll seek protection from anyone that can provide it, including fascists.
That's the thing, no one is threatening that or even talking about it. Obama despite being a Islamic Marxist failed to nationalize private property and no one else seems interested in giving it a try either. But like ass cancer, it could happen. So you never know.

And maybe you can see the problem with a excusing a RISING movement because "it hasn't completely taken over." That's ALWAYS TRUE....until the moment it's not. Which is always a moment when it's too fucking late.
Hey, F250, you've got a massive case of ass cancer, but it's cool, your body hasn't completely bought in on spreading the cancer to every single organ, so I don't know why you're so worried.
You still haven't demonstrated how the current situation is very similar to the rise of nationalism in the 20th century. On top of that you have yet to explain how hate and anger will solve the current problem other than stating it's today's currency. Was that just a random analogy thrown out into the ether like ass cancer?

So in effect, a DNS lookup (connection) necessarily precedes server data transmission, even though DNS is unrelated to actual data transmission - like what has to happen first in order for an email to show up in your inbox.
And because this information is private, we don't know what, if any, data was shared between servers but data being shared potentially both ways would not be structurally or functionally untenable, uncommon, or unusual in the capacity of servers.
But because info was somehow leaked, we know that the Alfa and Trump Tower servers (and DeVos' Spectrum Health server) were initiating contact for several minutes at a time, on average about once per hour, 24 hrs per day for several months during the summer election campaign of 2016.
Hope it occurred to someone to get a warrant.
There is nothing to indicate that anything occurred outside of email activity based on the existing evidence.
22 minutes ago, Captainant said:We also know that the pattern of DNS lookups was not ongoing and regular like you would expect with an automated system responding to spam, as has been postulated by trump apologists.
It was cybersecurity experts that postulated this explanation not Trump apologists. There is no reason this discussion cannot remain within the confines of technical possibilities. If you cannot be objective when discussing this issue then your opinion ceases being meaningful.

Except that’s flipping. The powers that be thought they could co-opt ignorant nationalism and use it for their ends. But like always happens, they have lost control of the beast, and the beast is now in control. But this isn't happening, sure certain political actors have exploited the movement but their isn't a complete buy in by the polity and capitalist class like there was for fascism. That's why the reaction is not the same as it was in the past.

That may be, but globalization isn't going away.
That's the point. The powers that be are for globalization not nationalism.

muslim ban and build a wall and invading caravans and end iran and not sending their best are not reactions to globalization.
The populist movement is a reaction to globalization. The populist movement is fueled by class tension. Using racism to mask the underlying causes of class tension is a time honored tradition.
As Biff Tannen alluded to, rather than tell these people to adapt their being told to blame foreigners and minorities. Trump isn't going to do shit to stop globalization so he redirects their anger elsewhere.

1) Records of DNS lookups appear to be publicly available, but not the actual substance of any subsequent communication after a DNS lookup, correct?
No, not really. The DNS logs are not publically available because of privacy and security reasons which is probably why no one can explain the existence of the leaked DNS logs. These were likely obtained illegally. DNS queries are simply just address lookups their usefulness within network forensics are very limited.
1 hour ago, triplehorn said:2) After a lookup and servers make contact, is there any limitation to the type or volume of information that can be exchanged between servers, i.e. files ?
No, DNS is unrelated to this topic.
1 hour ago, triplehorn said:3) If data info is exchanged, whatever it may be, unlike DNS lookups is the substance of the exchange private and would, for instance, require a warrant to view ?
If there was other evidence such as layer 3 and 7 logs that demonstrated protocols other than DNS and SMTP were used then the answer would be yes. Based on the existing evidence the answer is no.

The causes are dissimilar. The reaction is very similar. The current nationalist movements are primarily embraced by members of the disenfranchised working class as a reaction to globalization that is being pushed by capitalists and their governments. The groups pushing globalization would have to be the ones that support nationalism for the reaction to be similar.

Maybe.
Or maybe I’ve read a book or two. This isn’t the first time we’ve seen a massive rise in hate-filled “nationalism” as the driving political force of the age. And note that we’re seeing it worldwide, it ain’t just here.
It’s a storm of rage and hate, and it ends in blood. Go ahead, re-read the history that I know you read before. You tell us how these movements end.The rise of nationalism in the early 20th century was a direct response to the communist/socialist uprisings that were sweeping Europe during a global depression. The ruling polity along with the capitalist class were literally under the threat of being lined up against a wall and shot. The rise of protectionism wasn't hampered by massive amounts of international trade along with global supply chains and multinational corporations that have created symbiotic economies across the globe. Hell, eugenics wasn't even considered unethical by liberal Western Democracies at the time.
The circumstances from the early 20th century are not even close to being the same as they are now.

I've actually considered what my signature strike three call will look like. I'm learning towards a punch and some kind of Samurai like yell. A strike out should be cathartic for everyone involved.
Same with those close calls at home plate, those should have some flare.

I focused on the bottom of the line up
Good for you. I've known coaches to experiment with the lineup in different ways to overcome the bottom of the lineup but nothing beats just focusing on the bottom batters. Seeing a couple of kids climb up the batting order by the end of the season is such a huge payoff.

It's like crack. Seriously, baseball is heaven.
My plans for retirement include being a volunteer umpire and being that old guy that talks trash about the coaches at his grandkids baseball games.

Lilshep set a goal of making allstars and he achieved his goal. Made first team and top 3 vote getter out of 60 kids. Super proud dad. Has hit 7 hrs this year. Played some really great first base. Turned a unassisted double play in todays playoff game to seal the win

Congratulations! This is a great accomplishment. I was recently at my son's high school playoff games and sitting with a couple of dads that I coached with throughout the Little League journey.
One of the dad's pointed out that the lineup looked just like our Little League All Star lineup from 5 years earlier. It was cool to see these kids that had a great run in All Stars together end up still playing together for the community.

This. The pride those kids have sporting the All Stars hat and shirts and the support of the local community is amazing.

The core belief and joy of the MAGA crowd is inflicting pain on others: “sweet lib tears,” “he’s hurting the wrong people!” etc. If other people aren’t being made to suffer (yeah, show those wetbacks! All lives matter, you f’n thugs! Fuck your feelings!), then Trump is failing.
So, forgive us if we experience smiling schadenfreude when those who gleefully cheer other people’s suffering actually experience some suffering themselves.
Reaping what you sow and all that.I understand the reasoning of the schadenfreude, I just don't agree with it and believe it's harmful due to it's dehumanizing effect. It's the same reason I despise Trumpism.
Mayor Pete recently touched on this topic when he said people in Indiana voted for Trump despite their dislike for the man because they just wanted to wreck shop. Not all Trump voters are MAGA enthusiasts, some are just raging against the machine. Trump benefited and continues to thrive off of class tension, I worry that the spite from many Democrats will continue to feed that tension the feeds Trumpism.

Mayor Pete speaking the truth. Trump was elected because of something that is wrong within our country and returning to normalcy (Biden) isn't going to make that underlying problem go away.

Because a lot of us don’t believe their words.
They say they are done with Trump but when the rubber hits the road they’ll fall for the same Fox News bullshittery that the Democrat nominee is a scary socialist and when they’re alone in the voting booth they’ll vote straight ticket Republican.
Because at this point it’s not just Trump. All Republicans are complicit. They’re shielding him and defending him and protecting him and backing his asinine policies.
I’ll welcome these farmers and others with open arms when their actions actually match their words.
Until then I don’t believe them. And I hope they continue to suffer and hurt. Because their selfishness is their main motivator.
I want them to pay for what they voted for. They relish in the thought of lib tears so fuck em.Yeah, this makes sense.

Trump's Trade War
in Cloak Room
Posted
China has been attempting to ban Windows from their government systems for more than a decade which is a fairly reasonable move considering the security concerns. I don't blame them for that.
Regarding Huawei, what is interesting is not that Google and the U.S. chipmakers are cutting off Huawei but the German chipmakers showing solidarity by cutting off Huawei too. This is going to make things really interesting. I'm curious to see how things play out with Japanese and S. Korean chip makers. If Microsoft cuts them off too shit is going to get real fast for Huawei. The gloves are coming off.
There is a chance the Trump administration might actually accomplish something.
