I'm not sure how accurate the title is but there does appear to be a general dislike for laissez faire capitalism growing on both the left and right. I still think the electorate is mostly made up of the center-left and center-right but its obvious that the populist movements on the Right and Left have a lot of issues with capitalism.
I've seen the neoliberal label thrown around a lot, primarily as a pejorative but there doesn't seem to be a clear definition of neoliberalism. If possible, could someone explain it or at least explain what it means to you?
As I understand it, within the framework of a mixed economy, the desire of the progressive left isn't to abolish capitalism but move towards a further leaning socialist economy within a mixed economy framework. Is this accurate?
What Presidential candidates would fall within the neoliberal label? I don't see Trump as one for sure. Biden, Buttigieg, Beto, Harris all seem to fit the bill. I am unsure about Warren, I see her as one too but I don't really understand what makes one a neoliberal.
This stood out to me because it pretty much describes myself.
It seems clear that the type of progressivism that Schultz and many tech leaders subscribe to, one that seeks to combine social progressivism with relatively laissez-faire capitalism, is quickly going out of fashion. In fact, what’s especially interesting is the extent to which this position has become disliked across the political spectrum. A poll of Schultz’s candidacy revealed a remarkably consistent negative opinion of him across not just Democrats and Republicans, but Independents as well.

Serious question, what is the background of these two women? Are they radio hosts, businesswomen, journalists? Seems like they appeared out of thin air a few years ago.
Diamond is an economics professor at Duke and Silk worked in logistics and supply chain management as an SVP at Cargill which is why they are pontificating on international trade on Fox Business.
No, really what they did before their video went viral is a mystery and they are absolutely unqualified to to offer an opinion on a business news show.

The only brands I would trust are Ananda and Extract Labs. Those are the only 2 companies where I've gotten my hands on third party tests.
I bought some tinctures for my wife from Extract Labs a few times. It seemed to work for joint pain but had it's limitations. Recently we were able to acquire a source out of Austin for some quality flower which works really well for joint pain.

What’s the statute of limitations on admitting to hitting a kid in the head with a putter?
I called the cops afterwards and told them what happened, one of them laughed and the other gave me a WTF look when I told the story. Apparently it isn't against the law to club teenagers with a putter for trespassing.

When I first got married, we bought our first home in an older neighborhood and had an issue with teenagers messing around our property. One night I just happened to be in the backyard when I heard some teenagers climbing on top of the privacy fence. It was one of those brick ones and they would climb it and walk on it. My golf clubs were near the backdoor so I grabbed a putter and ran to the flowerbed near the fence and squatted down until the kid was about to make his way up the fence.
It was dark and I only saw two hands and the top of a head when I Samurai chopped down on the top of his head. It was very satisfying.

I'm still trying to figure out how:
1. Bunting with a no-hitter is not OK, but...
2. Giving an IBB to a hitter who has hit three homers is OK.
Someone needs to write down these unwritten rules, because there's no logical consistency to some of them.
I've always thought of the unwritten rules as more of a guideline for behavior that promotes sportsmanship rather than an actual set of rules that must be followed to the letter.
In the case of the OP's story there was no unsportsmanlike behavior since the game was still winnable.

I would have the Department of Justice aggressively investigate the SEC and the NCAA until both are a smoldering pile of ashes. All federal funding for Alabama would be removed and redirected to UAB where people value education. Of course aggy will receive an SMU like death penalty and lose access to all federal funds unless they agree to remove the name of Texas from their name. I would also look into the possibility of trimming off East Texas and reallocating it to the state of Louisiana or just make it a separate state called shit hole.
Stoops would be sent off to Gitmo and Kawhi Leonard would be put on a no-fly list and forced to stay in Canada.
After crushing my enemies, I will resign so that my Vice President Gregg Popovich can assume the office of POTUS.

Trumpkins are like the unathletic dork on the playground. No one wants them on the team but without them you don't have enough players, so you end up not just asking them to play, but also to have more input than they should on the rules of the game. Because if they decide to take the ball and go home, R's will be out of power for a generation.
You must have had a friendly playground growing up. Those kids weren't given options other than run away while being ridiculed or just going along with the game and being ridiculed for being terrible at it when I was growing up.
Looking back on it, I can see how that kind of treatment as a kid would produce a Ted Cruz.

My time in the rust belt has been thankfully limited, but driving through parts of Ohio are just beyond depressing. Just nothing positive going on, at all.
The first time I ever witnessed a lock-out was in Canton, Ohio. I saw these hobos sitting in a cardboard shanty out in front of a manufacturing plant playing cards in dreary weather. As we passed by I made a comment about the hobos playing cards and a local corrected me and explained they were workers in a lock-out.
I knew what a lock-out was but never really processed it until I saw these guys sitting outside under a makeshift cardboard shelter in chilly drizzling rain in front of a plant where the chain fence was locked. That isn't something you ever see here in Texas. My expression was basically an Owen Wilson wtf face.

Conservatives embracing these type of liberal economic policies while simultaneously supporting social conservatism and nationalism give me the fucking creeps. Tucker isn't representative of the entire Republican party or conservatives but he has a very influential platform and appears to be pushing European style right wing politics and I can't imagine any situation where that is a good thing.

2018.
Kids hate Republicans.

and kids now vote.
- Among 18- to 29-year-olds, voter turnout went from 20 percent in 2014 to 36 percent in 2018, the largest percentage point increase for any age group — a 79 percent jump.
My 19 year old son has no interest in voting. I got him registered and everything but somehow he didn't have time bother to vote. He is pretty apathetic about politics.
My 17 year old is interested in the topic but then puts a big emphasis on not wanting to share my views by default and thinks everyone his age with a political view is just repeating what they hear at home. Currently he claims to still be exploring political views and isn't settled on any particular one. He is really analytical and tends to overthink things. He should have some political views in another decade or so.

Kind of sad that I am the first one to bring this up and I am a day late. Yesterday was the 30th anniversary of Tienanmen Square. This is an old article but still appropriate.
I'm not really sure that article is relevant. China is an authoritarian nation for sure but what's going on today isn't the same as what's addressed in that article.
What is interesting is that China through its embrace of capitalist practices has created a very visible state of economic inequality. Not surprising since there are always winners and losers in capitalism. However because China has been an emerging economy based on exports and manufacturing, there have been really big winners and big regional losers. Its like America at the turn of the 20th century. Where things get interesting is China has generations of people that have been indoctrinated in communism. It seems like a no brainer that people would turn to the official ideology of the state that is predicated on empowering the exploited worker against the capitalist class. However, the Chinese government isn't cool with that kind of shit.
Check out what's been happening to young enthusiastic Marxists in China.

Buttigieg is polling at 2% with California Latinos. No bueno.
This part of the article about Pete campaigning in Fresno caught my attention.
After the event ended, Gomez told Buttigieg in Spanish about the drinking water problems that plague the region. Buttigieg, who speaks several languages, responded in Spanish that he would try to help.
“That means a lot,” Gomez said. “The next time he comes here, he should speak in Spanish more.”
This guy is correct, if Buttigieg can speak Spanish he should be doing it as much as possible. Mexicans love a gringo that can speak Spanish. Shit, George W Bush won over a bunch of Hispanics when he gave a speech in Spanish.

But we’re reliably stupid and in the red column.
The approximately 80,000 ding dongs in PA/MI/WI and the fence sitting flip floppers in Florida are the ones who got suckered and/or couldn’t pull the lever for an “emotional woman”.
And now we have the most emotional and irrational human being in America with a crippling Twitter addiction in the Oval Office.I agree that the Deep South is reliably stupid. SEC SEC SEC!
I disagree that the swing vote in the B1G states had anything to do with not wanting to vote for an emotional woman. HRC was fairly quiet on the class debate while Trump pounded the shit out of it with his populism. I've spent time in both Alabama and the Rust Belt for work and while both areas feel poor, the Rust Belt is depressing on a scale I didn't think was possible in the United States. Just complete hopelessness.
Democrats must remember the mistakes from the HRC campaign and not forget the importance of the class debate.
