  1. Cops telling lies. Imagine that. Bernard
  2. Little known fact: USA is 3rd largest vehicle exporter in the world (by value); roughly half the volume of Japan and a third the volume of Germany. http://www.worldstopexports.com/car-exports-country/ Bernard
  3. Interestingly, that’s exactly what I didn’t want in a new refrigerator. Looks ugly on my opinion. Also, hard to fill the large glasses I prefer. I went with a Bosch that has a water dispenser inside the fridge. French door version has ice bucket in bottom. I can scoop my own ice. My other house has an Electrolux side-by-side that’s still looks new and going strong at 14 years old. Also, both are counter depth. Normal size refrigerators now look out of place to me. Bernard
  4. I think the transition is easiest when you’re already in ketosis before starting to fast. At this point it’s no big deal for me. It’s always been more mental than physical for me. Bernard
  5. You have a thread for fasting keto. Go there and leave us alone. No. Bernard
  6. Texas Texas A&M Texas Tech Texas Christian Baylor (old and new) Kansas Kansas State Oklahoma State Nebraska Colorado Iowa State Missouri West Virginia Houston Rice Astrodome NRG Stadium Giants Stadium AT&T Stadium Orange Bowl (Miami v Florida, not bowl game) Cotton Bowl Rose Bowl Holiday Bowl Fiesta Bowl (Sund Devil and U of Phoenix) Texas Bowl Sugar Bowl Alamo Bowl Arkansas Rutgers Stanford North Carolina LSU Super Dome (Tulane) Ohio State Central Florida UTEP Wyoming Cal BYU Ole Miss UCLA Notre Dame USC Without a doubt, every one of these stadiums, except AT&T Stadium, puts on a much better game day presentation than the garbage they present at DKR. 7. Agree whole heartedly, but maintainig is one thing; dropping 125 pounds gained through prior indulgences is another. My goal is to get to my preferred weight ASAP. Then I’ll figure what combination of food/drink pleasure and exercise is required to keep me there. Bernard
  8. I thought about it a while back for my 1993 Montrose townhouse. I can't recall the quote I got, but I recall it was high enough that my existing windows all of a sudden looked just fine. Now I have a 1994 house in Sugar Land with a shit ton more of similar style windows. Bernard
  9. That would be me. Works like a fucking charm if you're trying to burn fat. I'm down 85 pounds since New Years. Bernard
  10. I was at all the games in the OP’s video. Good times. Bernard
  11. The $64,000 question is how much would that standby power cost if everyone did the same. Right now, the grid costs get spread out over a vast number of users, based on usage. The cost to maintain the grid though, includes a shit ton of non-variable costs. If everyone has solar, how do we pay to maintain the grid? Bernard
  12. Already touched on above, but any new house, even in Texas, has to comply with lots and lots of regulations. Buildings cores. Double pane windows. Minimum SEER AC units. Etc. I read somewhere that solar water heating was the best bang for your buck. If true, it should be required on all new houses. The biggest issue for me is asthetics. Solar panels can be quite ugly. Of course this new law allows developers to put in a common solar array for the neighborhood. They don’t have to be on every roof. My sister has a large house in SoCal. Her roof top panels cut her electricity bill to almost nothing, which is nice. Bernard
  13. Yes indeed. I was eating 4-5 of those bagged salad kits a day. Digestive system is once again fully functional. One dump was so big I was pissed I didn't weigh myself before and after. Bernard
  14. Lost 85. Scale says I'm up 5 pounds. So now 80. I'm guessing it's almost all water weight and the weight of food on my digestive tract. Bernard
  15. Been eating salads like a mad man for the last nine days to make sure the pipes are fully flowing again. Back to water fasting today. Bernard
  16. Human civilization isn’t going anywhere. Wars, plagues, etc. may slow us down, but humans have the intelligence to adapt, procreate and ultimately survive. The Black Death plague killed 30-60% of the entire population of Europe over roughly a decade. Humans survived though. In the aftermath, the overall standard of living rose dramatically. Fewer people competing for the same level of resources. On a long enough time scale though, humanity is fucked. In a few billion years, the Sun will become a red giant and envelop the Earth. Long before that happens though, the Sun’s temperature will rise to point where all of Earth’s water evaporates. Bernard
  17. Can’t go wrong with Frisco, Breck or Vail. I’ve spent summer time in all three. If kids are involved, I’d go Breck to be close to the mountain activities. If you’re Surly 1%, Vail has some great lodging and food/beverage options. Stay in Vail Village only. Otherwise, Frisco is awesome. Find a place close to Main Street. Bernard
  18. CSB: I went from the worst hitter in little league to one of the best in one off season. Friend’s dad drilled a hole through a baseball and inserted a rope. The “pitcher” would swing the ball around and around while I practiced hitting it. Without even knowing what was going on, I learned how to follow the ball’s flight with my eyes. All of a sudden I was a masher. Bernard
  19. Is the garage ceiling not insulated? Bernard
  20. Do you work for Energy Ogre or Breeze Energy? How do you know the specifics of their arrangements? Not that it matters. Your implication was that Energy Ogre wouldn’t find me the lowest cost plan due to fee arrangements, but a third party REP analysis site confirmed there’s no cheaper plan out there for me than the one to which Energy Ogre enrolled me. If you think there’s some cheaper plan out there, please chime in. One of the two Breeze Energy founders is a Texas Ex and a friend of a Shagster. Not sure what possible benefit he’d have to join Shaggy and chime in on the old Energy Ogre thread to counter similar assertions about Energy Ogre. If you have any specifics you can share other than “I am correct”, I’m all ears. Bernard
  21. Nope. Four bedroom house with a pool. Bernard
  22. Can you even read? Please tell me you didn’t graduate from Texas. I made no accusation at all. I merely pointed out that there are other possibilities besides the story told during the FBI’s own self fellating report of their own successful operation. Bernard
  23. Started at 324. Weighed in last week at 239 before eating and getting sick. Haven't been on the scale since. I'd like to get down to 224, maybe lower. I'm 6'5" tall. 49 years old. Bernard
