  1. Believe it or not, we weren't exactly thrilled to replace Nebraska, A&M, and Colorado with TCU and West Virginia. Aside from OSU, the only marquis conference game we had left was Texas, which obviously is not a home game. Playing home and homes against Ohio State, Notre Dame, Tennessee, etc. left a gaping hole in the away side of those seasons. Added to the fact that being in a conference considered "lesser" was appalling. Losing recruits that simply preferred to be in the SEC year in and year out was getting old. I'm honestly surprised that it took as long as it did to make the move.
  2. The major factor of the Big 12 falling apart was the abject failure of the Big 12 North after 2002. Winners get eyeballs, wins out almost as much as pussy. Nebraska, Colorado, and Kansas State nosedived from Must Watch National games every week to just their core fan bases. You cant tell me that a Big 12 with Nebraska, KSU, and CU at the same level that OU, UT, A&M, Tech, and OSU were pulling wouldn't be the by far premiere conference in the country. Every team has it's floor. Texas, A&M, Ohio State, and maybe Michigan have the highest. Everyone else has to win to get eyeballs to stay off the floor. Nobody was watching Alabama in the early 2000s.
  3. Any one of them with competent leadership.
  4. Well, get to fuckin'.
  5. Comcast is orders of magnitude bigger than Fox.
  6. Why would NBC partner with the Big 12 when SEC and Big 10 media deals are coming due? If they wanted to be serious about CFB, why would they muck around with the minor leagues?
  7. The logical next eventual step is for the SEC and Big 10 and other big brands to simply merge into a new conference. Nobody cares about competition, it's just the biggest number of eyeballs on the biggest games. Why not just have a conference of OU, Texas, Alabama, Ohio State, Michigan, Florida, Georgia, A&M, LSU, Tennessee, Michigan State, Penn State, Notre Dame, USC, UCLA, Oregon, Washington, Florida State, Clemson, and Miami play each other every week? Ratings Bonanza without having to deal with Baylor or Oklahoma State or Iowa State or Washington State sleepers.
  8. If A&M ran away from yall, again, wouldn't that be considered one of the most cowardly, tail between the legs move in CFB history? I mean, as an OU guy, put us in with Bama, UGA, and LSU, Florida, Auburn, or whatever fucknut hayseed wants to step up. Fuck it, let's do it. Let everyone else play for 3rd place. Though realistically, OU, UT, A&M, and Arkansas would be the best for all 4 schools.
  9. Poko, no.
  10. https://www.wlwt.com/article/jerry-springer-to-be-part-of-espn-college-gameday-broadcast/38174603 In case anyone thought this was going away.
  11. While I give less than zero shits about Conference Sun Ball USA, I do wonder now that there about a million moving parts, somebody's gonna say something to their wife who will tell their friend, who'll blurt out on Twitter when the fuck we're out of this busted ass conference.
  12. Not having the Charlotte logo in front of UNTs was a massive miss.
  13. I mean, if you're counting on an unverified Twitter account with 500 followers before that tweet, run by a Texas grad, to have insider information from the University of Oklahoma that no one else in the nation has, then sure. He's half way to Miami right now.
  14. Here's a dumb ass non lawyer question. We watch the same stupid commercials all day on Saturday. Are these sold per network, or per game, or per conference? A. Is there just a flat rate for ABC games, a lesser one for ESPN, less for ESPN U, etc.? B. Or are individual games sold at rates depending on the matchup? C. Or are certain conferences sold at higher values? I'm assuming these ad buys are in place before the season.
  15. Well, if you trust this dude's numbers, it's actually a little higher than 75% if you count the top 32 versus the rest. Albeit he does stop at SMU. https://medium.com/run-it-back-with-zach/which-college-football-programs-bring-in-the-most-tv-viewers-efc03c689e50 Also intersesting to note how low Missouri is. Oklahoma State is way more valuable.
  16. The only competitive move is for the top of the Big 10, PAC, and ACC to merge into a new conference. The Big 10 CiC isn't going anywhere, no need to play sports against each other to share research dollars. A 16 team SEC and a 16 team Super Happy Alliance Friends conference would capture what, 75% of all CFB viewers? Around $75-90 million a year per school for rights? The other option is letting the SEC slowly add all valuable properties and continue to skyrocket past everyone else in revenue.
  17. Sad times north of the Red River:
  18. Sounds like mescaline.
  19. How long am I a New Poster? I was a long term dude back before the SnoCone whathave you, and apparently someone snatched up my very cool username in the interim. Not too be bitchy, but Im getting Adzillatroned to death over here.
  20. I've gotten a lot of irate texts from my OSU friends about how I'm killing college football. I reply that I know for a fact that they're going to the Pac 12. My Oil and Gas contacts already have it all set up. That seems to make them happy.
  21. Is Eltife Spanish for Elf?
  22. Not only that, they're going to overthrow ESPN and return college football to the masses.
  23. They'll sue their way in?
