  1. The divergence on your chart clearly starts before 1980. Not sure what you’re looking at. Yeah trickle down helps the rich. It’s what happens when you’re close to the money tap. Massive deficit spending plus decreasing interest rates is great for elites.
  2. You’re missing the plot. The divergence starts before Reagan shows up. And your 3rd chart basically follows the time since the GFC. The Federal Reserve and zirp is the number one driver of inequality.
  3. Never would’ve guessed CTJ was a comic collector
  4. This is in Houston evidently. More importantly im interested in these bitcoin backed loans. Wen Bitcoin backed mortgage, ser
  5. Solid contributions, as always.
  6. I don’t believe so but it’s been so long since I set up a Coinbase account.
  7. That’s a low number. A long way from taxing the billionaires.
  8. At this point i think it’s a good idea to go ahead and take Luvox if you get Covid. Especially if you have any of the risk factors. https://www.thelancet.com/journals/langlo/article/PIIS2214-109X(21)00448-4/fulltext
  9. Just for a reference where would you see a good lower limit on investment that can have unrealized gains taxed? I know you would support it much lower than what was proposed.
  10. If this happened today it’s another top signal. Honestly the exuberance and high post volumes on the thread today seem like a signal too. I hope the big winners here are taking at least a little off the table. When you think about all the cool stuff you’ll be able to buy when the price hits xxx it’s a good idea to take some off. I’m speaking from the experience of not doing it btw. But hey crypto is crazy and you never know what you’ll see but just sharing what I’m noticing. Good luck everyone.
  11. So no taxing of unrealized gains, no expanded surveillance of small bank accounts. Honestly those are both wins although people here won’t see it that way. I realize you wanted to get those billionaires but it wouldn’t stay isolated to them for long like the original income tax.
  12. Out of the CBP coins I would consider Avax. It had a lot of mojo behind it earlier this year and looks like it’s consolidated well over the last month. Could make another move soon. That’s just going off cryptotwitter intel and the chart. Nothing “fundamental”.
  13. I agree with you that “helicopter money” will boost velocity. But what what would happen to our current rate of 5.4% inflation after we get a boost in velocity from increased direct transfers? As this board likes to say we will FAFO.
  14. This puts a nail in the coffin of school/Covid hysteria. Major policy blunders were executed. Hopefully the ramifications aren’t too large.
  15. By keeping interest rates artificially low, the prices of homes go up as people can afford to borrow more to buy them. Perhaps more importantly, zero interest rate policy and quantitative easing have lead to general asset inflation (stocks, crypto) and increased concentration of wealth. This capital is then available for real estate purchases. It’s part of the “wealth effect” that the Fed has openly pursued. Combining those two things, zero interest policy also makes it difficult to produce returns on the increase wealth that people now have. Instead of treasuries or other corporate bonds that they would traditionally purchase they’re searching for other places to generate yield/returns. Real estate has been a big part of that. See: Blackrock buying rentals all over the country.
  16. If one were a conspiracy theorist, you could almost say that’s part of the plan. This is a deleted tweet from a small fringe group of non influential people.
  17. I like this pearl. Not dystopian at all. For U.S. citizens, Individual FedAccounts would be opened automatically upon birth or naturalization. These accounts would also be credited automatically with regularly received federal benefits: social security payments, tax refunds, and all other disbursements that depend on one’s citizenship status. Sure this is all just her wet dream, but the fact that she even proposes such a centralized model says a lot. Quite “progressive”.
  18. There’s a link inside the link to download the whole paper. I assume if you abolish commercial banks and it’s all held by the Federal Reserve then you don’t really need the insurance?
