  1. Man, I like obliterating Kansas in basketball almost--almost--as much as doing it to Oklahoma in football. Great day. Hook 'em! (Were there really people arguing we should win one game in the tournament and shut it down to get rest?)
  2. Timely thread as I just converted part of my basement to a media room.
  3. He creates separation through his precise route-running.
  4. Manchin might cosponsor. Not surprising that the poor states might band together here and try to stop NIL and transfers from relegating their teams to the second-tier--or in Alabama's case, just another good team.
  5. This thread is making me hungry. I think I'll walk across the Drag and get a burger at Mad Dog and Beans.
  6. Alabama and Auburn donors are worried but they have Senator Tommy Tubs on the case. He's introducing a bill to address NIL and curtail transfers. Article is behind a paywall, but here's the key graph:
  7. If this guy can learn to direct his ginger energy we may have a star.
  8. I'm no kicking expert but watching this guy kick and based on stuff I've read about Tucker, it seems our boy Reed has some additional power to unlock. https://www.hudl.com/video/3/13670497/616f6087b53e820590ea22b0
  9. Indiana has more major sports national championships over the last 70 years than aggy.
  10. Well, at least he can't go all QX50 on us. (I hate cars named after random numbers and letters.)
  11. That's a good game to play. Seems like Sark is here until he is fired or retires. I would bet given his family ties that Banks stays as long as Sark is here. PK has given no indication that he wants a head coaching job, so he likely stays for awhile. Flood seems happy with his stable of big humans and working with Sark, so I think he stays. Choate has solid head coaching experience at a lower level and is learning at this level. I expect him to snag a Mountain West type job in a year or two and then move up to a major school within 2-3 years after that. But then again, he and PK are buds. Milwee seems attached to Sark, but it would not surprise if some OC job comes knocking--especially if we do well with Arch. I don't know about Bo's ambitions. Does he want to be a DC? I'd like to think he's ready to settle down and stay in Austin, but there always seem to be rumors about him. Choice seems ambitious and I could see him going for a stronger title or to the NFL. After Bijan and RoJo, if Baxter is as good as advertised, he'll have people calling. Gideon is coaching at his alma mater, so it may take a lot to draw him away. He may wait it out and try to get the DC job after PK retires or moves back to the NW in a few years. If we keep improving on D, Joseph may get some looks for DC jobs. I don't how attached he is to UT and Austin. Jackson just arrived so you have to think he's here for at least two seasons. Strength coaches don't seem to move around a lot unless the head coach leaves, so I guess Becton is here for a bit. I know nothing about Fenner and if he wants to coach at the college level or not. It'd probably be good for guys in these positions to move on after 2-3 years so you can get a new high school guy. Keeps the HS coaches on their toes and working to curry favor with Texas.
  12. I saw them at the Music Hall in Houston in 1979, after VHII came out. It was my second concert experience. As you might guess, my VH playlist has 25 songs with DLR and 7 with Hagar. Some photos from that night are here: https://www.rockinhouston.com/performers/van-halen/78?page=1&groupBy=Years
  13. My takes: Bandon is the best beach, though there are many that are pretty awesome. Shore Acres and Cape Arago state parks, just north of Bandon, are well worth your time. There are some cool hikes with great views around Humbug Mtn State Park and the Port Orford Headlands. Newport is a cool little town with a riverfront area worth exploring. It's also has a great aquarium and is home to the NOAA Pacific Fleet, so you may see some science ships docked there. Crater Lake is definitely worth a trip. I haven't seen a photo that does it justice. The first time you walk up and look over the age will be memorable. Eat at Beckie's Pies and take the short hike around the Rogue River Gorge. Silver Falls is awesome. The hiking trail goes behind some of the falls. Astoria is a fun town. Make sure to take the bridge across the Columbia and see Cape Disappointment on the WA side. In Tillamook, you can visit the Tillamook Creamery, makers of cheese and ice cream.. In Portland, definitely Powell's. The Zoo and Japanese Garden are awesome and there are plenty of hiking trails in Forest Park. The best Vietnamese place is Luc Lac on the corner of SW 2nd and SW Taylor. Be prepared to wait a bit during the weekday lunch rush. The Waterfront Park is good for a stroll and people watching. Multnomah Falls is iconic and a must see. Get off the freeway though, and take the Old Columbia Highway and stop at all the falls and Vista House. I think the highway is mostly open now (it was closed in sections after the 2017 fire). Hood River is cool. As others have said, it's on the river and has a nice downtown with shops, restaurants, and breweries. Take a drive up the Hood River Valley to Mt Hood and eat at Timberline Lodge, which is a great example of New Deal construction. On a clear day, the views are magnificent. It was also used in The Shining as the exterior of the hotel. Central Oregon doesn't get the publicity, but both Redmond and Bend are cool towns, with Bend being a retirement haven and the snottier of the two. They give you a view of the eastern slope of the Cascades and Mt. Jefferson and The Sisters are what you expect big Cascade volcanoes to look like. You can walk through lava tubes at Newberry National Volcanic Monument and the hiking at Smith Rock State Park is great (many commercials are filmed there). If you get down to far SW Oregon, float or jet boat the Rogue. Oregon Caves is cool and the drive along the Smith River into California and RWNP is awesome--the mineral content of the area makes the river a cool looking light blue. In CA, Stout Grove is my favorite redwood grove and if you're feeling adventurous with a high clearance vehicle, just down the road is a great hike through Fern Canyon at Prairie Woods State Park.
  14. Looks like they upgraded the base model with ball bearings.
  15. Could be worse. I was born into the Oilers.
