The 2019 LPs look significantly better than the 2018 line, imo. The colors and finishes are great. I'd still rather see them do away with the fade for the HPs altogether though. Glad to see the pickup bezels are back. Looks like a more complete aesthetic with bezels. Not team button, but team bezel. I'm a complicated person. I'm barely coming around to the idea that the 2018s should even be considered part of proper Gibson canon. Like if the history books skipped the 2018 line I'd probably be fine. And praise be! The Blueberry Burst is back, if only in fade. That finish and hardware combo is the most beautiful thing ever conceived by man. I like how they added hues to the finish to give it more depth too.
Yeah, that recording is one of possibly two times that "unplayable" song was played live. Were a video of either performances to surface it would change the direction of the Earth's rotation. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk
In that other thread, tbone reminded me that I haven't checked out Vinnie's new digs. Six feet away from a KISS Kasket and Bumblebee. Thinking about Dime still puts me in a mood. Such a fucking shame.
User name kinda checks out.
Seconded. Stanley Hotel, as a hotel, is overrated af. No A/C in some rooms kinda shit. Go for the tour and history, imo.
Not a fan of the Estes Park congestion, but RMNP is a jewel. Go anywhere inside. See anything. It's all worth it.
You laugh but I've solved two murders just this year. That Les Paul is gor-geous! That looks like 3rd party relic'ing and I've only come across a couple of places that do a job worthy of a Gibson. Gibson's in house team does a great job too, but to get the ~$1000 relic job like in that pic, the Gibson Custom Shop would start at $5k easy. It's almost obscene.
Word. A bit of trivia, the girl Amber Alert is named for, Amber Hagerman, is buried at the same cemetery. Her plot is in the back in front of the graves of a large group of other children who were kidnapped and murdered. It makes for a touching and powerful monument. You know, if you're looking to get saddened or depressed while on your trip.
One more down, 3 to go. This one also has a case that's seen better days, but the book inside, imo the second biggest reason to get these sets, was still sealed. $50 well spent, imo.
Tone Shop in Addison is worth the trip of you have time. Since you might be near Arlington, you can stop by and say hi to this dude. His brother is there now too. It's tradition to leave a dime on the stone.
