  1. The BEA bundled the states into regions, not me. I recommend sending them a strongly worded letter, and remind them that your taxes pay their salaries. The original comment was that the southeast is a poor region with a small population. It's not. Bundle it however you want. The states comprising the SEC - including Texas and Oklahoma - are responsible for more than, what, 25% of GDP? And over 30% of the population? California is nearly the entire western seaboard by itself! Large seaports contribute enormously to GDP. But as I said, California is a dubious football market. They can barely hang onto their pro teams, and outside of USC and the Rose Bowl there is no major college football presence. ESPN would love to get California eyes and dollars, but unless USC becomes a perennial power again, it's not going to happen.
  2. Like yesterday's news? It's essentially the same, but even if it was markedly different, it would only serve to demonstrate that the economy of the southeast is resilient and vibrant in ways that the economies of states and regions diminished by the pandemic are not.
  3. Carr was trying to salvage Dak's ego at the end, haha Reminds me of the College Football Live with Luck, Foles, Barkley, and Locker having a similar competition when they were all in the Pac 12 together, and Luck smoked all of them.
  4. Your source data is wrong. The Southeast is the #1 region in the US by GDP according to the Bureau of Economic Analysis. The Southeastern US accounts for over 20% of national GDP. The Southeast is also the fastest growing region, both by GDP and by population. The population of the states comprising "SEC country" is the largest among all conferences, followed closely by the ACC (which has more mid-Atlantic states), and both of those conferences are far ahead of the rest of the pack. Then consider that 5 of the top 8 states producing NFL talent are also in the SEC (Texas, Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Louisiana). ESPN didn't make college football a regional sport. It kind of is a regional sport, with some amount of talent and interest in California and the Midwest, and I would argue that California is a dubious football market to begin with.
  5. I feel like that's it. This year the top 2 teams were as clearly the top 2 teams as it ever gets, and we saw a team win its first NC in 40 years. It was a great game and a great result. Asking for more mediocre opponents from mediocre conferences to be added into the mix just to make people feel better is....well I don't have a word to express the distaste but it feels like parents telling a coach to let their schlub of a kid play just because.
  6. 1st half stats: 10 of 16, 244 yards, 4 TD, -16 rushing. That's a good half of football, helped out by some defensive lapses and 99 rushing yards by Bijan on 10 carries, but it's a flimsy peg to hang your hat on.
  7. The only authorized rematch was the 2007 Giants beating the undefeated Patriots in the Super Bowl after losing to them in the regular season and finishing 2nd place in their own division.
  8. Last night he wasn't even better than Stetson Bennett. Can blame receivers and injuries or say Georgia's defense was so much better, but when the pressure was high and the game was on the line and the team put the game in their hands, one QB stepped up and another didn't. I think it also shows how much his receivers made him look good. Bennett never had the tools Young did.
  9. Yeah, my opinion too. Maybe I'm dumb. Young's got a knack for keeping calm, escaping pressure, and making accurate throws on the run, but he's not a Russell Wilson or even a Kyler Murray.
  10. Heisman winner 100% outplayed by a guy named Stetson Bennett IV tonight
  11. Georgia's O linemen are fired up. I love seeing the big guys play with aggression and energy
  12. That 2-pt conversion play call was ass, my dude. The edge defender was left unblocked and they ran it to his side. Maybe the pulling guard was supposed to get to him but he was several steps behind the RB. And that guy made the tackle. Dumb.

  14. Bama needed a lot of help but they got their TD too
  15. I'd piss on some coked up teenage girls if I thought it would do any good
  16. Well. Wow. There is going to be a TD tonight
  17. CFPXXX Half time show Live Girls Girls Girls
  18. Does it need to be music? Personally I'd like fire jugglers and a motorcycle ring, and maybe some BMX stuff. If they were blasting NuMetal or post grunge while doing it, it wouldn't hurt
