  1. HUGE NEWS!!!! I like watching Kerwin, especially when he's not being asked to initiate/carry the offense. Very excited to get to root for him for another year! Who's his trainer/where did he post that?
  2. Hayes is really freaking raw. He profiles to being a rim protector, but he’s not going to be one in just first year, especially because he’ll be a detriment on offense. He may get the kind of minutes Sims got this year, but he’s not going to be the anchor of the defense.
  3. I get that and I wasn’t commenting on whether they should schedule FCS teams, only saying that Miami and UT in the same year would be a lot and I wouldn’t want UT to schedule two OOC teams of that caliber the same year. Plus, one of our P5 teams is Kansas, which really isn’t a P5 team for the last five years or so (Hi Charlie!).
  4. While I'm never one to skip an opportunity to make fun of aggy. I don't think this is very reasonable. It would be dumb of us to schedule two big time P5 programs OOC, and while aggy has an extra OOC game, we have Kansas so I think that kind of evens out.
  5. This man gets it. By the way, who's gonna drive over to LT and tell us if Hudson's wearing a burnt orange shirt today?
  6. Yeah, that's what it seems like. Hard to argue with a QB picking them over us at this point. Then again, the 2018 season could change all that pretty quickly. As could Spencer Rattler nabbing the starting spot before NSD 2020.
  7. Are we collectively letting the Bryce Young ship sail?
  8. lulz. dammit. I was on my phone and didn't even realize this was in the 2019 thread.
  9. It's a little silly to discuss the position the guy is committing at when he's never started a game at QB, but regardless, there's no way the staff is telling him he's their #1 or only QB take. My guess is that since he hasn't played at QB much, he won't scare away a Young or Hornsby. His willingness to commit as the non-primary QB take can be a selling point for whoever we ID as our #1 QB if they have reservations.
  10. They had a lot of shitty games on ESPN/ABC, including Rutgers, but I think PencilPusher means night games when he says primetime. tOSU definitely got a lot of coverage on one of Disney's two primary networks last year. Sometimes though, it was just because there weren't any good games at all in that time slot.
  11. I mentioned this in my longer post, but this doesn't hold up. UT bumped tOSU back a few years to make Bama work. These OOC games aren't binding and both teams can back out or reschedule. A&M easily could've bumped Miami if they had any desire to play UT at all.
  12. I'm not trying to be super critical here because I like the work you do, but it feels like y'all picked a narrative/headline and then worked towards it. The reasoning in this podcast leaves a lot to be desired. We have two objective scenarios in which A&M/SEC actively avoided playing UT. 1. Texas Bowl where aggy took a demotion in bowl to avoid UT. I highly doubt aggy had no say in how that went and 2. A&M declining to play in the open slot, so we picked Bama. There are no objective scenarios in which UT has shown they're scared to play and 1 in which they've showed they are, which is CDC calling them. It's easy to move around OOC stuff that far in advance. We bumped tOSU back to make this work. aggy easily could've done the same with Miami. I don't see how this results in the conclusion that they're both scared or that Texas isn't willing to play them. CDC literally called them and asked them to play. The rest of what's talked about is mainly just speculation, but even then, as other posters have pointed out, most of the speculative stuff leans in UT's favor. The only thing that leans against UT playing aggy is that the next 10 years worth of OOC games we've scheduled are all better opponents that would get UT more national recognition and that factor still has nothing to do with being scared to play.
  13. Wasn’t it him and Shepherd that Green said he talks about playing with? Probably doesnt have much of an impact but wouldn’t hurt if one of the guys he’s cool with isn’t hyping aggy all the time.
  14. If Card is willing to commit as essentially an athlete take right now, that would be amazing!
  15. I see what you're saying, but I also feel like we say this every year and then a bunch of those teams bring in JUCOs and transfers and end up being really good. Also, small quibble on the recruiting stuff because there seems to be so much bad info floating around on that, we have no chance at a top 5 class. We're full on spots and we're in 8th. If anything, we may get passed by some teams who aren't full yet.
  16. We need to add the ribs to Sejir's photoshop above.
  17. 1. Coleman was not our best player last year 2. Sims didn't kick ass. He contributed off the bench in a limited role. 3. Your'e still relying on those guys progressing a ton. 4. You can't say "we made the dance" without Bamba (or even really Jones). We made the dance over a whole season's worth of work, to which Bamba contributed massively. Our defense was not the same without him. 5. Our recruiting class isn't up there with the top 10 programs. It's 14th in avg recruit score ( a much better metric than total score due to fluctuation in bball class sizes). There's a big gap between our score and the top 8-10 classes. Plus, we're one of only 2 teams in the top 14 without a 5 star, you know the kind of guy who comes in right away and has a big impact since we're talking about how they'll help next year's squad. All our recruits are long-term guys. Maybe one of them surprises and has a big impact, but expecting them to be big contributors in year one is unrealistic. 6. My entire hypo above was if Roach came back, so when I used your term, "lock," it was assuming Roach is back just like you said. Seems like you were unable to grasp this point. 7. All this goes to show that calling next year's team a "lock" for the dance, even with Roach, is ridiculous. They might make it, but it will require good injury luck (we have way less depth than 2017) and a lot of progression by the returning players. Our team last year was much, much more talented and deeper than our team next year and they barely made the dance. To say, we're a lock to make it next year and you're not relying on any huge jumps from our returning players is absolutely insane. I've sufficiently made my point and I know how these things go with you, so I'm gonna leave it at that.
  18. Lulz. I'm not the one with trouble "grasping" concepts. I understand what you're saying. It's just all insane.
