  1. I remember seeing Burrow play aggy in the 8 overtime game or whatever and he played like a battering ram. He was not a great passer in 2018. Then in 2019 the ‘84 Dolphins came into DKR obliterated our defense. Arch is closer to 2011 Garrett Gilbert at this point. Let’s hope he gets to 2010 Gilbert and then we can find comps of QBs who improved with experience.
  2. Outfield throw vs infield throw He can throw hard in a straight line. He has no feel on any pass with an arch, short, medium, or deep. It’s like a chip shot follow-thru. Your instinct is to slow it down upon strike so you dont hit it too far. Same thing. Right now he’s throwing the football like I play golf. Not good.
  3. So could this guy, but he was planning on earning 20%
  4. My friend’s uncle was a terrifying man. He would stop by our apartment in college every now and then. One day he asked me if I had a girlfriend. I said no - he’d sniff out a lie. He asked if I had a 4.0 GPA. I said no. He then replied, “then what the hell are you doing?”
  5. To put it in golf terms, Manning is slicing into the woods and not hitting past ladies tees. Sellers, Lagway, and back in the day, early Simms and Gilbert, were getting good lift on their shots but hooking it, bombing it into water, and three-putting. No one’s breaking 85 from pro tees, but those other guys could at least have a chance on the right course. Arch looks like this… Breaks my heart. Good luck to him.
  6. It needed to be directed by Richard Linklater. He’s got the walking and talking tracking shots down.
  7. Our games are much better officiated without Big12 interference. It’s night and day and backed up by statistically significant numbers between 2013-2023. The last year and a half has been a revelation. It’s a myth that the anti-UT bias during this time is a myth.
  8. It was poor fundamentals. Flat footed, no anticipation. He aimed it there and probably made it harder than it needed to. I have very little confidence he’ll overcome this during this year. He’s not learning with more reps, he’s regressing. And SEC play he’ll regress a lot if he’s not able to throw a football.

  10. Arch has one quarter to play at a mediocre level which is to hit wide open receivers at about a 75% clip, and that’s to their catch radius. Basically if he can play at a level like Tyrone Swoopes, he can continue to play. Swoopes could hit first read guys about that rate. He also could find easy looks downfield. He was OK at that. John Harris had some big games. Of course he could not process quickly or read defenses. And he was inconsistent. And his line was much worse. But he’d hit that first read out to Livingstone on 4th down. He could complete a pass on a curl. One quarter. Caldwell must have a body of work heading into Florida. You cant run Arch out in the Swamp like he’s been.
  11. Wasnt at the game. But think the boos were also. at the offense and playcall on 4th down.
  12. I have never seen better deep throws in person than last year than when Arch was throwing. He also had swagger. Looked poised. His deterioration can only be explained by quantum physics - time traveler Sam Beckett has leaped into his body. Or, being Space Jammed.
  13. If you’re a receiver or running back and there are no holes and no passes to catch, you will lose money by taking NIL money (if this doesnt get fixed)
  14. I admire your optimism
  15. You mean give Arch MORE easy throws. He can’t make a simple throw.
