  1. It’s the energy transition. It’s the price we’re paying to save the planet. It’s intentional and I’m willing to guess almost none of the policymakers involved care beyond it hurting them in the polls. Just wait til they start going after agriculture in full force. Livestock is bad for the environment, don’t ya know? Wow these beef prices are crazy high! “Eat less meat, peasant.” David Dennison Eat the bugs instead. Good source of protein.
  2. Cpi tomorrow. Expected number is 8.2-8.3 I believe. A poorly worded tweet but looks like it could be higher.
  3. Energy transition. It’s a choice being made over time, for better or worse. “You’re looking at committing capital 10 years out, that will need decades to offer a return for shareholders, in a policy environment where governments around the world are saying: we don’t want these products,” he said. "Capacity is added by de-bottlenecking existing units by investing in existing refineries. But what we’ve seen over the last two years are shutdowns. We’ve seen refineries closed. We’ve seen units come down." "We’ve seen refineries being repurposed to become bio refineries. And we live in a world where the policy, the stated policy of the U.S. government is to reduce demand for the products that refiners produce," he continued.
  4. I thought this was an interesting look at the shipping/logistics side of things.
  5. Always. In other news interest rates finally biting mortgages.
  6. I mean the mom is mildly cute. I’d lick her taint if she requested it.
  7. She’s obviously referencing the unemployment rate. We’ve finally eclipsed the same amount of jobs that we had pre-Covid. But it’s hard to say that with a straight face when the economy contracted Q1. We have high inflation and real wages dropping. This clip has a big “sub prime is contained” feel.
  8. I mean yeah. She kept going back. Had sex with him twice. Why would you go back again?

  10. Make sure and focus on the area between his scrotum and his anus
  11. We’re talking about attempting to model the future outcomes of a complex system and basically focusing on one variable input. You may think you have a degree of certainty, but you don’t have absolute certainty. Sorry.
  12. Yeah I haven’t even mentioned that. You can’t claim to be concerned about climate change but still be shutting down nuclear plants. Our energy policy broadly is incoherent.
  13. This is the first I’ve heard of the happy baby yoga pose. Is that from tik tok? I need a ruling.
  14. If we’re being honest here, you’re weighing one uncertain outcome (“burning up the planet”) vs more certain outcomes. Those include first world problems like blackouts or high food prices and third world problems like famine, starvation and death. These are the trade offs of the energy transition.
  15. We should stop stepping on our own dicks does not equal nationalization.
  16. One can think pursuing massive solar investment is wise while at the same time recognizing there will still be fossil fuels in our future. You couldn’t eliminate fossil fuels from our day to day lives even if everyone wanted. Too vital to too many vital industries. Look at the global famine that’s unfolding. High natural gas prices play a huge role in that via fertilizer. We should be leveraging our resource advantages where we have them. It would make us more energy secure (and politically secure), while also helping to stabilize things geopolitically.

  18. There’s a few different places that this stuff could’ve been placed, but given that we’re using executive actions I thought it could go here. Some good some bad. Still doesn’t address the vast majority of polysilicon production being based in China. Or other raw materials. We are making our energy security more dependent on them. Here’s a better use of the Defense Production Act.
  19. tl;dr someone claims to have used an exploit to download years worth private telegram messages from various crypto communities and influencers. He alleges all sorts of improprieties from the expected fraud up to sexual assault and assassinations. Sounds extremely far fetched but if it could happen in any space this is it. He lays out his plan for the data releases.
