  1. I watched "The Covenant" with Jake Gyllenhaal. It was...ok. I liked the idea for the movie but to me, it was just meh.
  2. Look up iptv service. I know someone (not me I swear government people) that uses streemingly.com (don’t need a vpn) Looks shady, but you can get any channel you want, literally. $15 a month. Now, it does use internet and can be finicky from time to time. But, it is a solution. You can pay via PayPal so it’s “safe”. You can also look into Tivod.tv (need a vpn). This one you can pay month to month and i believe the cheapest option is $20 a month. Message me if you want to know more. And no, I’m not the person who owns these. Just been using (or know someone who has been) since February. Def has positives and negatives, but better than paying out the ass for cable.
  3. Well, seeing the ages of your group I'd hesitate from doing this, BUT, my family and I went last winter to Colorado. We stayed in the middle of nowhere, closest town was Cripple Creek. You can see in the photo the approximate location of our Airbnb. 1. If you are looking to just relax, have a quiet mountain getaway, this could be for you. Like I said, we were easily a 25 minute drive from ANYWHERE. Winding mountain roads and beautiful views, including Pike's Peak. 2. Woodland Park is the next closest town that has a Walmart etc. We talked about staying here next time we go. Just to cut down on the drives through the mountains and make it more convenient.Very laid back and not busy at all. 3. From Woodland Park you are about a 20 min drive to Garden of the Gods which is beautiful. Lots of hiking. Biking. You can also go check out Pike's Peak. 4. If you go at Christmas (more on this in a bit) you can visit Santa's North Pole in Manitou Springs. Our daughter (7 at the time) LOVED it. Lots of fun rides, shops and of course, you can meet Santa. 5. Of course Colorado Springs is not far away. Plenty to do here. They have outdoor ice skating downtown, plenty of restaurants, etc. 5. Winter in Colorado: Not for the faint of heart, especially if you don't have AWD or 4WD. Keep that in mind. My family of four went in 2019 with my 4x4 truck. I never felt out of place or unsafe. This past Christmas, we had my wife's parents so we had to go in our mini-van. Front wheel drive. As we were driving into Colorado Springs on our way to our Airbnb, the smaller city streets were very icy. I was surprised, but didn't have to use the chains. We visited Breckenridge one day and I had to put the chains on for the Hoosier (?) Pass portion of the drive. It was nerve-racking. If you aren't familiar with winter driving I would say avoid this without AWD/4WD. On the way home from Breck it started snowing pretty heavily and I had to put the chains on again to go back home. Easily the worst part of my trip. Your priority #2 would fit well for the Durango area. We spent a Summer vacation in the Durango area back in...2017 (?) and we would definitely go there again. We stayed near Purgatory and made the drive into Durango when we wanted. Purgatory ski resort has Summer activities as well, including most of the things you mentioned above). Silverton is the the opposite direction and is a BEAUTIFUL drive. I would definitely put the Durango area near the top of my "you should visit this place".
  4. 😶 Honestly, I've always wondered if I am cutting the brisket correctly.
  5. I’m no football expert or anything, but to me, that Rice game definitely looked like we were not showing much. I didn’t see any Anthony Hill blitzes, something we heard a lot about during practice. The offense was Ho hum for sure. When the O did show something, it usually turned into something good. (Sanders TD, Brooks TD). I think they will be fine IF our OL doesn’t play bad. Part year they played well, so I expect the same, or at least hope. I’ll say this, Milroe scares me, but, I think we can rattle him.
  6. I’ve been saying it for months. We win by double digits. [emoji15][emoji15] Texas 36 Alabama 26 Bama total yards: 420
  7. Done with my project early this morning. That’s the first cut and slice. It rested in the oven at 150 for 14 hrs. [emoji15][emoji15] Never done it this way but it seemed to work.
  8. Also. Just throw Arch out there. He can run and throw. Why not? Quinn ain’t it.
  9. What a horrible first half for the offense. Defense is fine. I like Baxter, but why wasn’t Brooks starting? He obv is a playmaker. Has been since he’s been here. Also, Shadeur > Quinn.
  10. The "Naughty Santa" off the secret menu. Grilled shrimp, Chorizo, Pickled onions, jack cheese, Avocado, Cilantro & Poblano sauce. It is tasty.
  11. I'm doing one this weekend copying a method I saw on TikTok. 😳 We shall see what happens. I am using a Pit Boss pellet grill, here is the method I saw: 1. I used Worcestershire sauce as the binder. Seasoned with salt, pepper, and Meat Church Gospel. Usually don't add this but I did. (tiktok used some kind of Asian seasoning sauce, salt, pepper, Franklin All Purpose Rub and something else...guess I am not following this EXACTLY how it was) 2. Put the brisket in the fridge for 24 hours (where I am now) 3. Put brisket on the pellet grill, fat side up, water pan underneath at 200 degrees. 4. When it reaches 165 degrees, spritz it, put foil over ends if needed to prevent drying out, turn up the grill to 275. 5. Pull the brisket when it reaches 190 internal. 6. Wrap with tallow/clarified butter in butcher paper. Then wrap with foil. (Wasn't sure why they did this, but I guess I'll try it) 7. Put it in the oven at 150 degrees to rest. This can go anywhere from 12-18 hours, depending on when you want to slice/eat it. 8. Take it out and slice. I have NEVER tried this before but wanted to try a method that uses the oven. I am hoping it turns out ok. My usual method is similar until I put it on the grill. I usually do at 225 and just let it go until I decide to wrap it. Then take it off internal of 202 or so. I've had good and bad...:)
  12. Man. Watching that was definitely a Quinn Ewers season in one game. Great numbers, but A LOT of the throws are short or swung out to backs. Even then some of the passes were off the mark, receivers had to contort to make a catch. Some throws were just bleh. Some were great downfield and dropped. All over the place really. I can't wait to see what happens when his great throws are combined with great effort and great play calling. Also, what is Casey Cain's 40 time? 4.99? Geez, he looks slow as hell in that video. IS IT SATURDAY YET?!?!?!
  13. Well, Tyler Legacy got their asses kicked by Lufkin, who does have a couple of high-level recruits but it shouldn't have been 31-7. Legacy still has a young team with some OL/QB problems. I think I heard they moved up a freshman OL to help with depth. Legacy had a kid transfer from Grace Community (private Christian school), Simeon Garner (JR) who was on the Dave Campbell's TAPPS Preseason All State team. Unfortunately, after playing really well, he sustained a lower leg injury and is out for the year. Hopefully he will come back strong next year. Legacy also lost their kicker/punter to a torn ACL. Pretty rough start to the year. Next up, John Tyler in the Rose City Rivalry. I am looking forward to the game, the Lions have some major talent. Derick McFall of course, but their QB is a sophomore named Caden Granberry who is listed at 5-6, 140 lbs. No joke. Dude is an ATHLETE though. They also have one of the top 2027 players in the nation, Cadarius McMiller. He prob won't play much, but his 8th grade highlight reel is fun: Also, random stat from East Texas that I thought was a typo: #2 Chapel Hill beat Gilmer 71-53 last week. Their QB Demetrius Brisbon had 321 yards RUSHING, their RB Rickey Stewart totaled 278. Both are juniors.
  14. Texas 54 Rice 10 Ewers: 191 yards, 3 TDs (only first half) Brooks: 107 yards, 1 TD (only first half) Baxter: 94 yards, 1 TD Anthony Hill: 2 sacks
  15. I've been saying this for a few months, I think we beat Bama by at least 13. Not sure why. I know their defense is going to be good again, but I also think we will be fine. I think the Bama players who played us last year would say we were their toughest game. It'll be the same this year. FIVE MORE DAYSSSSSSSSS
  16. Just realized it has no LUM. I know it is a "Blackout" but.....that makes me think: why would you get a watch with no LUM?!?! I mean, maybe it isn't something that is a HUGE deal, but I do check the time on my watch when sleeping from time to time. I just feel like I would miss it if it wasn't there. Hmm, now I don't know about this one.
  17. I know. Def caught my eye!
  18. That is a damn fine watch. I was looking at some Seiko mods, saw a few shops on Etsy. Few caught my eye, but haven't pulled the trigger. Anything to look out for when buying a Seiko mod? What makes a mod a mod and not a knock off? Here is one I saw that I liked.

    AMMO THREAD

You boys ever go to Atwood's? They usually have a great selection of ammo including some "hard to find" ammo. For me that is 6.5 Grendel. Granted, the one I frequent doesn't have it every time I go in, but it has it often enough. And it is cheaper than Academy and other places. I recently got some Hornady Black in 6.5 Grendel at Academy for $29.99. Last time I got it at Atwood's it was $24.99. If you are ever near one, go check them out.
  20. I know it was "just the Spring Game", but Hill seemed to be in the backfield every play that he was in. I can't wait to see him destroy humans.
  21. I saw a Henry lever-action 30-30 for sale at Walmart in Tyler. $785. I have NEVER seen a Henry in a Walmart and almost pulled the trigger. Literally. Didn't, but I was tempted. I need a lever-action.
  22. For the last 10 years or so I have been VERY cautious and more realistic. My son calls me a "bad fan". This year though...I am ready to be hurt badly because my hopes are high.
  23. I'm a big fan of Benchmark Top Floor. I'll take that any day for $16 a bottle. My fancy/expensive bottle choice is the 10-year Russell's Reserve. Hahaha. Past that I feel like I am over-spending.
  24. Very cool. We actually flew into Viracopos this trip. And to stay on the thread, haven’t bought the watch yet!
