  1. Same here about 1990. Skiing was great but it was absolutely freezing. And that was the week before Christmas. Can't imagine January/February. One thing I do remember and hopefullt they changed it. It seemed like every run ended way below any chairlift. I was in really good shape and got very tired of hiking uphill 50 -100 yards with skiis to get to the lift
  2. If that front bar isn't from Toyota you might want to try to figure out how it affects the front airbags. Not sure anymore but 10-15 years ago it was an issue.
  3. Not exactly a classic yet but late 80's early 90's Mustang or Camaro might be worth looking at. Not outrageous price and can be modified. Plus you get some safety items that the older models don't have
  4. About 20 years ago I thought I had won an M5 from BMW Club raffle. They posted the first name and city. It was my name and the city before Austin which caused me to try to figure out if I joined before after moving. I didn't win
  5. And that's quite an understatement
  6. Standard black - interesting that the seats we had made in 1980 are still pretty solid. Under that tarp in Georgia they didn't get wet. Definitely new carpet etc. If I put a top on it it will NOT be white. Dad did this and white only looks good for a week or so
  7. One more since it timed out. I think I've what I mentioned how difficult it was to get the Iris Blue close to what it should be. And as you can see - any light makes it look different
  8. And it's back in the garage doing the work - not in body shop anymore. Here's how it looked when I acquired it from my twin brothers estate - just a little crusty. Paint job was done in our garage in 1980 A lot different now
  9. Well today just about every one of those buttons still exists on a touch screen - not sure which is better
  10. No one has suggested "The Great Escape"? McQueen, Garner, Bronson, Coburn, Pleasance, McCallum and Attenborough at least deserves a place at the table. I still like Mad Mad Mad World only because most of the stars were comedians.
  11. And we are getting closer - paint is done. Just for reference it's a 1962 MGA MkII. And nope I am not doing the body work. It's up in a specialty garage in Michigan. I did body work on my first MGA in 80's as a poor student. I wasn't very good at it and didn't like doing it. Not a good combo
  12. No idea why but Mom had BCBS Federal which must have been golden. In 4 years at nursing home she took ambulance to hospital probably 6-7 times. Never saw bill. Never saw a bill for anything from the hospital either.
  13. Long story but you can - just not like it was in 80's. IIRC the issue is not using tritium - it was disposing of the dial ten years later. To avoid dealing hazardous waste a lot of manufacturers went to Luminova. One or two still do tritium with tubes which I guess you can dispose of.
  14. Anyone know what Bulova is using for luminescence? Looks like aged Tritium but that really isn't an option these days. The website did not say
  15. and that is getting more difficult on new cars. My Lexus has somehow integrated the emergency brake into the maintenance system so you need a Lexus computer to disengage it during a brake job
  16. My potato is 14" laptop with 1920
  17. Featured products sidebar is still grabbing about 25% of my laptop screen.
  18. well they also had Lemon twist with the Mod Top. That was out there also. A good friend in high school had a Cuda with it. He raised all sort of mess in it - like it couldn't be identified. Probably was only one yellow Cuda with that roof in the entire state.
  19. I know the 60's were full of crazy stuff but a Panther Pink car just doesn't do it for me.
  20. over/under 5 million. I'll take over
  21. Rocking the early 90's IBM classic keyboard. have a couple from Austin IBM surplus store. They go for a lot on the bay. Easily the best keyboard I have ever used.
  22. I am following your logic but here goes.. I absoutely have outdoor rated cords. I can't see anything drawing that many amps. The splitter will have a single line going to the refrig. The second line off the splitter goes to my cable modem, router etc. Thats is it for the splitter. The TV and any other stuff uses the two standard 3 prong ports. That still leaves me a thrid unused connection off the splitter. What condition would cause more than 20A?
  23. I think what i wanted got over complicated. By splitting the 30 amp I just meant two lines - not 15/15. This actually did it perfectly and 3 ways https://www.homedepot.com/p/Voltec-Generator-Adapter-04-00215/206699604 Tested over the weekend. Ran refridg on one line, washer on another and some small stuff on third line. No issues. Only issue was the instructions - I hate the "idiot proof" instructions that are drawings with no words. A picture of a funnel means to put oil in etc. Only thing I would improve would be a power guage to show how much power is being used. No idea if I was pulling 1000 watts or 2000. Pretty sure it wasn't more than that with only a few items but would like to know
  24. How do get to the point of actually typing. Every website I seem to go to has a slightly delayed pop up that stops you from entering anything until you close it - Sign in Google, 10% off for allowing emails etc.
  25. Fortunately Huntsville, Al is not on ERCOT's grid. I am not planning for 10 days but want to keep the TV and refrig working for 1-2. I can't do anything thru the breaker box. I am in a historic/older neighborhood and my breaker box is early 1970's. Perfectly legal but wiring anything into it will probably require a new box. I priced that out at 10 grand a couple of years ago because I still have a few older circuits that don't meet new codes.
