  1. To be fair the Monza was supposed to have GM's Wankel engine which never happened. On the other hand they still shoved the V8 in there
  2. That is a perfect vehicle for them. I still have my 2001 version and it is bulletproof and fairly easy to work on. Only 2 or 3 failure points and those are easy to prevent with maintenance. The only issue that worries me isn;t an issue in Texas - rust.Toyota did well when they designed the 3rd gen.
  3. I have the same power bleeder and it rocks. Had to make a custom fitting for the 4Runner but man it makes it easy for a one man brake fluid change
  4. Almost got killed by my MGA in college. Was lying on ground with head under car to look at something and asked DAd to start it. He reached in and hit the starter. MGA's do not have a clutch switch so the car took off. Somehow I got my head out of the way and got smacked with the door as it went by. Somehow it hit the end of the garage and didn't do any damage to car (or me). Big fan of clutch switches ever since
  5. I hit 35+ going downhill on Parmer after 1431. The problem was the wind was helping and I knew coming back up those hills was death. Usually 10-12 mph coming back
  6. In terms of things going wrong a few hundred mmiles from home - you hit the jackpot
  7. Played there at corporate event about ten years ago. It's not worth 275 - when course is in perfect shape. Maybe half that.
  8. Not sure how they got to be old....
  9. Except when you aren't paying attention and knock it off while making a right turn and the milkshake goes everywhere.
  10. I know the feeling of covered in gas unfortunately. Luckily during the day but about 30 degrees. Was replacing a fuel filter and didn;t crack the cap so all the pressure exploded gas all over me. Lots of fun in back yard hosing down in 30 degrees
  11. dad had a 128 sport coupe in 70's (hardtop version of 124). Fun to drive but, as was mentioned, required constant work
  12. Is there away to not show this column in Firefox? I prefer the cleaner look
  13. I really liked the color when I first saw it. Called Thundercloud. Only sold it in 01 and 02. For some reason people didn;t buy it as much as expected
  14. After looking again I think it is just the sun bleach of the lower lip that threw me off. Here's my 01 which has the same lip but slightly different color. It was very odd in 2000 when I bought the 2001. There were something like 3 or 4 different bumpers depending on the model of 4Runner. Full paint on limited, full paint on some sport models, or chrome, and options on fender flares. Bought mine specifically with the chrome bumper
  15. Yeah - unfortunate that the green paint turned out to be that way. It was a gorgeous color when new. Front bumper puzzles me. Mine is 2001 but I thouhgt the only choices were painted or chrome. Your looks like it has a lower lip of something else
  16. Unfortunately I remember in the late 70's you could get one for 500 bucks. And have sevral to choose from.
  17. I remember seeing that live and laughing my butt off. Ben Dreith became a legend for that call
  18. I have a rider on my homeowners for Rolex and golf clubs
  19. Not sure how deep that is or how deep you may take it but you probably need to look at shoring up the walls - expecially since you have small kid helping.
  20. I don't remember any spoiled girls with Vegas because we had several. Dad would buy them cheap and sleeve the engine and then you had a pretty reliable teenager car. I may have set a record - mine was sold at 130K wihtout sleeving it and it only let me down once - water pump failed on the way home from Auburn. Luckily it was a very easy car to work on. Put a new pump on while in a parking lot and drove home.
  21. Just ordered a callaway apex 21 hybrid - cause it was on sale at preowned. Trading in a couple of Pings I picked up as trade bait when Golfsmith was closing.
  22. and it's now 98 bucks.. Very suspicious
