  1. Just wait until they stumble upon the AI boyfriend/girlfriend thread.
  2. As I mentioned, the "create your own track" is the only thing that could curb the boringness, but agree with you it's fleeting. To show you just how insane Tetris is, the perfect game ever just came recently, and it had to be aided by technology. A perfect game for end of the world and only two games to choose from until you die scenarios: https://games.slashdot.org/story/24/01/02/1658246/tetris-has-finally-been-beaten-after-34-years
  3. I could dust off punch-out today and in a couple of hours be at Tyson. Give me 48 hours and I've beat the game. Then what? Can't have that be my forever game. Same with Tecmo bowl. I downloaded the retro bowl mobile app (a dupe of tecmo bowl, https://retrobowlgame.io/) and while it's fun and lasts longer (you won't get bored based on the gamification of badges and seasons, etc.) it gets redundant too.
  4. You can narrow it down to a shortlist of 5 easy: SM3 Tetris Zelda MM2 Excite Bike — Assuming the prompt means you can only have 2 forever— replayability has to be high. Tetris you can play forever and not get a perfect game. Excite bike gives you the ability to create your own tracks for variety. But it’s boring. MM2 is fun but easy to beat. SM3 has a lot to it, as does Zelda. — Final verdict: 1) Tetris 2) Zelda
  5. I got that. Pretty obscure if you aren’t a cowboys fan.
  6. You are probably right. It just felt like fundamentally there are some base case issues at play and my mind wandered back to a religious foundation. I’m ignorant to what Israel Jewish society is like these days, but if I had to guess it’s probably as secular as ours and what religious zealots exist are as warped from the original intent as ours as well.
  7. I think it's hard for us Americans to really understand Zionism. It's like how the average Americans didn't understand the extremism of islam before 9/11 (though now we are starting to really see it with extremists of our own stripe). For Zionist's and some fervent Jews, the land is theirs. It's through a covenant with God and it's a birthright. It was given initially under the auspices of genocide (e.g. back-half of the Torah, Joshua, etc.) and so to persist with genocidal tendencies should not be shocking. Modern theory and applications of war and what is acceptable for thee, not me, when it comes to relgious-based war (on both all sides). I think there should be zero bones about it, Israel is trying to rid their land and take it back in total (West Bank & Gaza) because (from their minds) a) God is good and faithful to his chosen people b) it's been written and c) Might is Right. I think once Gaza has been taken, Dome of the Rock needs to be on alert.
  8. Holes. A Disney film which introduced the world to Shia LeBouf. Had never seen it, watched it with grandkids and it was pretty cool!
  9. True. Forgot about the, "need to take everything out of the garage and then put everything back in the garage, but in different ways and it will take 10-12 hours" summer days.
  10. This had to be requested. Like on a birthday or first day of school. You get some of these for no good reason as a surprise when you wake up and the Lord has shined upon you and it's a great day.
  11. After watching enough of Quinn…we win the national championship with Sanders at QB
  12. What happened? Did they just give up? Burn out? It’s an odd thing to hear about a Pit master or bbq joint losing its fastball and getting washed out in less than a generation (in this case about a decade). Seems like there’s gotta be obvious or attributable reasons.
  13. Having worked in that area a ton (OC) — UCI is still heavy commuter. It’s not called University of Chinese Immigrant for nothing. And I’m sure you’ll have noted that it’s egregiously hard to get into a good UC school (all the ones you mentioned including UCSD) being out of state. As in, she might have better luck getting into UT as a non-auto-admit.
  14. It never fails. The most popular guy in the team is the backup QB. Until he gets meaningful playing time.
  15. Definitely not enough data yet to make any determinations (and change any preset minds, either way), but for a debut, first preseason game with the assumption it’s a floor and you’ll get better with exposure and reps, it was a success no matter how you want to slice it. That said, he’s gotta keep getting better and proving himself. Just one data point in a long journey. I do wonder how Browns management and the brain trust feel though. Had to be a pleasant surprise for some of the internal doubters, especially considering the injuries currently.
  16. Had Pecan Lodge (Deep Ellum) last week in my monthly visit of downtown Dallas. How the mighty has fallen. Not very busy in a prime lunch time. No line. The heyday of 2009-2016 overly represented in media and awards and flair on the walls and tables. Bright side: took two massive dumps. The last one smelled exactly like the pecan lodge bbq platter pre-ingestion and the aroma was both pleasing and appetizing believe it or not. Maybe more so in a fecal state than when it was prepared food. Take that for what you will. Not sure if this is TMI and/or disgusting, but thought I’d share.
  17. You guys are overwhelmingly likely right. All I’m saying is let’s see. Last night could have been worse…
  18. Pretty good in his first action and preseason game. I ain’t saying, I’m just saying….
  19. What did your buddy (or anyone) account for the fall from grace and campus verve / zeitgeist for Abel's? Shocking it fell that out of favor
  20. Dumb question but does Abel's still exist on 24th and Rio Grande? And if so, is it still the place to be in West Campus? I lived in WC for 3 years and it was the only secure and anchored thing in my life during those times. Core memories at that place (even before the renovations).
  21. I asked ChatGPT 5.0 about what you said:
  22. I ubered so to be honest I didn’t pay attention to that. Sorry!
  23. Let's say hypothetically Ewers is Brock Purdy or Brock Purdy-lite, I think they took some better players and could have one of the best drafts in the last few years, much less just 2025. For reference SF's 2022 draft:
  24. Okay. You sort of buried the lede here. What "networking" events are held at Baby A's in North Austin lol? Sounds like you mean drug deals, meeting of the (aforementioned) cartel leaders, or what?
