  1. and Iowa should have made a fg, but doesn't
  2. so, TCU has nothing, but OU is playing down to tcus level...ha
  3. prediction: pain...for everybody, Dallas fans expecting a blow out, Commanders fans hoping for an upset, non-football fans hoping the game will be a route, and the TV will be turned off early. Cowboys by 7-10 at most.
  4. poor Lions, lay an egg on Turkey Day. almost over...faint hope...2 minute warning.
  5. okay, now do the same calculation for our peers, as in the top 4 contenders in the Big 12. If our opponents' percentage of good blocks is 99.6% or something like that, get the same number for the peers. I would imagine the % of peers' opponents would be something like 98% or less. Then, and this is drawing from my Stat for Paych class at UT in spring 1986, run a T-test based on the idea of disproving the null hypothesis, null hypothesis being the % should be within the standard error margin, etc. (That old man was a pretty good stat. professor, but of course I've forgotten most of it.)
  6. okay, Texas - 44 Tech - 42 Total passing yards, 769.69420420 You're gonna need a 420 by the time this one ends.
  7. Tech has a winning record, correct? Hate to say this, but we need to beat Tech by at least 28 points, and we all know that is NOT gonna happen. We might lead Tech by 28 in the first half, but then close it out by winning by 10 or less. I don't think margin of victory means as much in the Rig 12 game, though. A 12-1 Texas that finally got motivated and destroyed Tech to me theoretically means we are in. Under that scenario, I am not worried a bit. If we beat tech by 14 or less, and win in the Rig 12 game by a small amount, there is a reasonable chance we're left out, but we can't say we didn't know it was coming.
  8. Yes, and to pile on, a Big 12 team named Iowa State was perfectly coached, as in perfect, as in 0 yards and 0 penalties called on the field during the first half. Does anybody think "perfect team" when you think of Iowa State? There are not too many teams I think of as perfectly coached, but Iowa State is certainly not one of them.
  9. 3 calls? Nope, just the two I mentioned. I realize I was being a little hyperbolic on the illegal procedure, that technically State was still in the game without the penalty. However, the fact of the matter is that the way the game was being called, "horse teeth Campbell" had every right to believe a hands to the face should be ignored. After all his team was winning penalty yards 49 to 0 at halftime, and if left to the refs on the field, there would have been 0 calls against his team the entire first half. (booth review on the illegal touching) Why should that pattern change? That is the question someone with a brain should ask Yormark. After 49 to 0 yards in penalties why did the pattern change very late in the game, commish? Isn't IState a perfectly coached team? I mean perfect? 0 calls on the field for a half and then all of a sudden there are calls against them in the 2nd half. wrt "stop acting like they made zero calls that were correct our way". Look at the first half. You see any calls our way? I sure don't. Bottom line, the game consists of 2 halves, the refs did what they were instructed to do in first half, and it wasn't enough for the Fighting Campbells, so the refs gave in and made a few calls for us.
  10. This is where the Rig 12 is really showing its ass. There is no way the Rig 12 could get away with the pace they created the first half...100 yards against us and 0 against ISU would have been the final result of the 1st half pace. They would have been totally exposed to all fans, not just fans of the big 12....so, enter a meaningless penalty or 2 for us. I count the illegal procedure penalty against them as well. We were winning the game. As an aside, as someone who hasn't watched every minute of every game this season, but has watched probably 80% of the snaps, the marking us short a yard here and there registers, but it doesn't drive me crazy like the discrepancy in penalties. The total discrepancy in penalties every game is what gets me. The Rig12 machine is consistent. I expect total domination every game. We dominate in penalty yardage every game. 50 to 0 at half-time led to whatever yesterday. I wonder if Yormark has a job where he hears about the Rig 12? probably not.
  11. Our injury count must be out of this world. Does Tech come in super-motivated for some special reason, other than making sure we don't go to the CFP? Cuz I don't think we're going to the CFP anyway. Rig 12 still has it out for us. That slimy dude Yormark doesn't want to stand up there and have to present Texas with a trophy.
  12. unless they beat Georgia in the SEC championship game. We have enough to worry about going up against Rig 12 officiating two more weeks.
  13. And a penalty for window dressing so the refs don't look quite so bad!!
  14. Just run three times and make them use up their timeouts...
  15. There is no way we can fuck this up...this is over.
  16. I have never been so glad to be wrong, ever!!!
