  1. I read the original book/story, thinking it was the Disney story from my youth, with my kids at bedtime and it was horrifying. At one point the wooden naughty horribly behaved boy gets his legs burned off in the fireplace.
  2. Geico was not one of Buffet’s best investments ever because they give away money, so your spidey-sense is probably right here. I’ll add further that I had a similar wreck (t-bone, airbags deployed, etc.) and my insurance totaled me out. The underrated part of a wreck like this for those who haven’t been in one or haven’t in a while is how shaken you are for the next 24 hours. It’s like being shot up with adrenaline and then trying to come down but still having that low-grade anxiety and buzzy feeling until you get a good sleep or two in. I digress… Edit to add, just saw the pic, looks way better than mine did just from the eyeball test. I could see how this would be salvageable, but I also can see how if you escalate and make enough noise you can probably get it totaled out too if it’s a jump ball. Get a second opinion.
  3. Thanks. I thought the new hand was supposed to have the strongest guy in Westeros or something, bone breaker something or another. Maybe he has both and it's a duality of man situation with one lame son and one strong one. Or maybe they were making fun of his disabled son.
  4. I've defended Viserys for being soft because I have a daughter who is a whole mood too, but man, having your brother show up wedding crashing after you put a knife to him and say if you ever show up ill kill you or youll go to the dungeon etc. and you just get him a chair and let him eat off the good charcuterie boards? Then he goes and dances and gropes your daughter again. Viserys is the legendary King of Poons. Histories and songs will be written about how he is softer than whatever the Medieval's used for toilet paper. Also, in that vein, hilarious how miscalculated Ser Gerard Butler was when he tried to angry whisper an accusation from the steps of the stage. Oh crap, this guy now owns Runestone and I'm the Knight of...er....Runestone. Well, you are now a dead man walking, dummy. Green dress, late entrance, etc. was mega dumb. Alicent isn't hardcore, she's lame. Cristen is lame. Lame-footed, manipulating with the brain because he is physically disabled trope guy is lame. The only guy I like is the new hand, but only because he is articulate and seems to be the only one with a brain. He's like Tyrion but without being witty or clever or funny or interesting. Which now that I type this is a nice microcosm of the show versus GoT.
  5. I don’t know if Cooper is better than Dak, but I know Cooper plays with more balls and confidence and swagger than Dak and I know that he’s stepped up twice and won games with big ball fourth quarter drives and I know that both in the game of football and life, eventually people are going to be drawn and follow someone like Cooper based off action.
  6. UT- 24 UTSA- 16 D gives up 351 yards
  7. Hmmmm. You sure about that? What about voting for policies that minimize how much tax you pay? Where is the moral line drawn, generally? For you? I wear Patagonia, but only because it’s an occupational dress code. You can’t find any finance guys worth their salt without their KKR or Blackstone vest, and that’s because Patagonia stopped doing Corporate swag only recently, so all the Tryharders and junior nerds just have the regular pat vests. Gross.
  8. In real life she’s not a 5 or 6 at best. That’s actually good to know because I won’t feel bad/sad when she’s wrestling with being average-to-below-average on the show. Good job to the show making her look frumpy with bad hair. I’m glad it’s not an ugly Betty situation. The show is doing a good job of setting up those emotional stakes and internal conflicts and the actress is doing a great job of reflecting that internal pain externally like we saw at the court scene with the “hot guy” guy saying “nah JW ain’t for me, but she hulk 😍 “
  9. The part of this show that is the most cringe to me actually is that I feel sad and sorry for the female actress. She’s not a very attractive lady, certainly not beautiful, and having to watch her navigate the dating scene and such is second-hand awkward because it’s so realistic. As a modern Rhea Pearlman and a “maybe a 6” as her date rightly said in real life would have all those same social problems.
  10. Madysnn with two N’s and a Y (but not where you think it isssssss) is the best part, hands down. This show blows otherwise and is obviously not doing great numbers based on the lackluster thread here and Twitter talk. I guess Disney+ is doing the Netflix thing where they produce a bunch of expensive garbage and call it “original content”.
  11. To OP because I've been on both sides of this the past year or so: ZOOM/Video-only interviews are awkward and suck. Push to get in front of the hiring manager, even if just for an informal lunch or coffee, during or shortly after the rounds. Even if you have to do it on your own dime, it will be worth it (though any company worth their salt will understand when you expense it).
  12. This isn't like you; why did it trigger you to be asked this? You are using vulgar language and you are a very well-read and literate man of Arts and Letters. This is a softball for a visionary like you.
  13. There was a disgusting slap fight and I missed your post. You think Viserys "5 years" wannabe MacBeth monologue was about Otto rising at an incredible time? It seemed like it was him saying it took 5 days for you to kill my dad and take a position of power, a situation that apparently was ignored-- nay, embraced-- as Otto was trusted and nobody even hinted at a whisper until it came out of the blue last episode. It was explicitly stated when Viserys said "It took 5 days for you to choose yourself over your King".
  14. Funny because HBO already has a show about succession that is better and costs much less.
  15. The weirdest part besides the gross implied incest (but GOT so whatev) is the deus ex machina exposition being dropped from the ceiling like New Years balloons. You mean to tell me Viserys suspected Otto of killing his dad to rise in power and be hand and then did nothing about it and fully trusted him for 20+ years after until today? And what made him distrust him? Tell him the uncomfortable truth and being honest? Seems weird. In fact, that he is a good hand that has a whisper network and stays clued into the going ons in the keep and beyond it and has his ears to the streets for all things good and bad? Between this being the thing that ends Ottos political career and Daemon beating the boy who relayed that Viserys sent ships to help, lots of “shooting the messenger” which I think is lame. Also thought the attempt to juxtapose the “prisoner in a castle to have babies” theory that Rhany says Alicent and other lady/royal women are subjected to versus free-willing fun was overly wrought in the exaggerated boring dead fish sex versus orgy house sex of the free willed woman. Gag.
  16. Similar feels, but my answer is George Jones. Jason Isbell is a nerd, George Jones was a danged man.
  17. Once upon a time Lakewood Landing had a good cheeseburger. Does that still exist?
