  1. It's allegedly high fashion (LOL) which is allegedly Kanye's wheelhouse (again, LOL). From the 2022 line: BALENCIAGA'S MERCEDES-AMG FACE SHIELD IS FOR SHY PEOPLE WHO LOVE ATTENTION If you want to see really weird, google the latest story with Balenciaga and child abuse and bondage or whatever they were doing in their latest show.
  2. The crazy part is Alex Jones was trying to lead the witness here to a soundbyte that favored Kanye and Kanye took the bait and ran in the opposite direction. Crazy when Alex Jones is trying to moderate.
  3. A perfect response. There is a dril tweet for all occasions.
  4. The controversial position is in how much, I guess. Baseline versus largesse to fund bloat and inefficiencies, stealing from the middle class
  5. Prior to this incident was Gavin Rush a known commodity? The fact he is a proper noun in the title and not "Austin lawyer pulls gun..." makes me think he might have been a minor celebrity or figure or something but he was just a mid-career attorney at some mid-tier firm, right? A dime a dozen in any city.
  6. Okay so clearly an unpopular opinion here, sorry for partying.
  7. Not Disband. Who didn't see this coming when we spent a ton of money on the IRS under the guise of "TaXiNg tHe BilLiOnNaIrEs!" https://www.irs.gov/newsroom/reminder-service-providers-others-may-receive-1099-ks-for-sales-over-600-in-early-2023
  8. To bring it back to Biden, since the thread topic, I found this interesting. Times and situations are different no doubt: The vote marks the first time Congress has flexed its power to block a national rail strike since the 1990s. Back then, President Biden was one of six senators to oppose the bill that ended a 1992 rail strike, arguing against government interference in labor.
  9. Yep, I mentioned this yesterday but for anyone curious google and read about Apple's ATT (app tracking transparency) which has absolutely eaten the lunch of Facebook, Snapchat, Google, anyone who relies on targeted advertising. It's been interesting to watch companies downplay it initially and then now blame it outright on earnings calls. Like I said, it was a complete mafia boss strong arm move and it's why Apple is the $2T beast it is while everyone else in Tech is at the kiddie table.
  10. Indeed, they need to do more before they completely lose category dominance (and sorry for subsequent posts, I should have merged all these): https://press.spglobal.com/2022-11-29-New-EV-entries-nibbling-away-at-Tesla-EV-share,-according-to-S-P-Global-Mobility
  11. Zuck spoke out about this yesterday as well, joining Epic and Spotify in the growing chorus: https://www.nytimes.com/live/2022/11/30/business/dealbook-summit-conference#:~:text=Mr. Zuckerberg said that unlike,a conflict of interest there.”
  12. Another tech company publicly supporting (or trolling and egging Elmo on for his own demise), is Reed Hastings of Netflix. Read this: Hastings sounds like he has a crush or is a 6 year old girl. He's the stwongest and bestest and bwavest superhewo awound!
  13. Did you even Chess King, though?
  14. Makes sense and I agree-- give them the 7 days and let's move forward.
  15. I've been scammed by "unlimited PTO" for so long that I can't even articulate the differences between time off to understand why sick leave is different than PTO or vacation or any other time off, so I'm guessing most young people (GenZ & Millennials) have no idea either unless they are time clock hourly employees. I googled it: So essentially on top of their Vacation/PTO they want 7 days of sick time as well. I wonder why the rail companies are balking so hard at that if they can live with 4 days, there must be a big $ impact on those extra 3 days and they must have data showing the expecting cost is pretty bad to risk this bad PR and stoppage.
  16. I think Oshmans was acquired. I brought this up cheekily in the Kroger<>Albertsons merger thread, but Jewel Osco was my go-to grocery store (aging myself here).
  17. It's because it's the capital of the South and the biggest economic center and employment hub of good to great paying jobs. I wouldn't move to Atlanta proper because it's scary at night, but you can work remote and live in the suburbs or live in Buckhead (and hope that Buckhead emancipates as it has been trying to do) and you will enjoy it.
  18. It will be interesting to look back and see if Elmo's Twitter escapade helped to create a star in the making and new celebrity CEO. The former Chairman of the Board at Twitter and Co-CEO of Salesforce has resigned with the assumption he has bigger and better things on the horizon. He got a lot of clout and respect in business crowds for how he handled Elmo's attempts to strong-arm and remain calm and cool and get the deal executed, essentially going toe-to-toe against him and winning. Before that he was already seen as a rising star, at least that was the perception whether you agree with his bona fides or not. https://www.cnbc.com/2022/11/30/bret-taylor-steps-down-as-co-ceo-of-salesforce-marc-benioff-stays-on-as-ceo.html
  19. I agree he's probably not who you want to hitch your wagon to right now, but tech people are weirdos and tech bro politics make for strange bedfellows, I think. As stated originally, it will be interesting to watch if it gains legs or not. I tend to think it's just another one of Elmo's tempest in a teacup that will be mostly forgotten about when there is another dust-up and self-imposed humiliation in a day or two that makes headlines.
  20. That's funny and those Dr. Rick Progressive commercials about not turning into your old man hits too close to home these days.
