  1. I didn't really know anything about this movie except from a vague memory of the trailer that a little boy was at some camp talking to Hitler. I've heard so many people rave about it, so I watched it on HBO Max last night. Wow. I was not expecting it to be so great or make me feel so many feelings. Every actor was perfectly cast and did amazing. I almost turned it off 5 minutes in because it felt like some quirky Wes Anderson-esque rip-off (unpopular opinion, but I dislike his movies). I'm so glad I didn't.
  2. I'm hard-pressed to believe Kurt thought, "Damn, I just turned 27. I know I'm one of the most famous musicians on Earth, rich, and have a baby daughter I'd be leaving behind, but I guess I'd better get on with it and kill myself so I can be a part of some celebrity death club that only 1% of the general population knows or cares about." Nobody who is famous enough to get in is going to kill themselves to be in that club. He was a depressed, suicidal drug addict for years who finally lost that battle. Losing it at 27 wasn't a decision. It counts.
  3. LOL, she knew what she was doing. I want to believe.
  4. Well, I can't un-see (or un-hear) that.
  5. The rest of society does. We're about a year apart, and I'm a millennial. I've been told I'm a millennial since I was a young kid. I'm not sure who decides these arbitrary guidelines, but the term was defined as people who were turning 18 and graduating high school after the new millennium. As others have said above, we all had VCRs and experienced life growing up without internet and cell phones.
  6. CNN sucks and should be called out. I could have pressed Meadows better than this with absolute zero training.
  7. You guys are kind of gross. I get we all hate Trump, but he did lose a loved one today. Family is family. Thoughts and Prayers, Donald. Please accept my tribute below.
  8. I don't get eating donuts in the morning. Whose idea was it that when people wake up, the first thing they need to start their day is cake?
  9. Why does he always sound like his teeth are about to fall out of his mouth and he's sucking back drool every time he talks?
  10. As is family tradition. He made his own father's eulogy completely about him.
  11. Nah, we were at Spec's 11 hours earlier. By 8:59pm we were already passed out.
  12. Nothing at all. It was the first denial found after a cursory search. There's probably a better thread for it elsewhere. I'm just too lazy to find it.
  13. Minor point but millennials were born in 1980 and are now as old as 40. Quit thinking everyone under 25 is a millennial. Most millennials had McDonald's French fries prior to 1992.
  14. I wish they'd do this for new movies. I saw Jurassic Park in theater in 5th grade and again a few years ago when it came out again on some 20-or-so year anniversary in 3D. I don't care to see it again. Again, give me "Tenet" or "No Time To Die" and we're talking.
  15. I had to read this twice before realizing the Trump campaign didn't begin their mass e-mailer with an exasperated "fuck", but rather that is the name you gave them. Well done.
  16. The sensitive one is the guy who comes out in full force attacking and slut shaming the Democratic VP, without evidence, within an hour after she is announced while being silent for 3+ years during the most authoritarian American president and most likely pedophile-friendly president we've ever had. We see through your fucking bullshit. I love seeing you fucktards thinking you can crawl your way back to some type of moral high ground like you haven't been supporting Donald Trump for the past few years. Go back under your fucking rock. This forum has been better without you.
  17. You're absolutely right. I have no sense of humor about Donald Trump, whose goal is to destroy the United States for his financial benefit. Please let me know what the humor is. Nobody rational and who doesn't pretend to believe in Atlas Shrugged gets it.
  18. Hey everybody, look! The Surly "Libertarian" carrying water and posting bullshit GOP talking points again.
  19. Because she's fucking awesome. When she got slapped out of the primary race, she threw her weight behind Biden and they became close friends and confidants. Now after not getting the VP pick she's immediately and without hesitation throwing her weight behind Kamala. She supports what's best for the country, even when it doesn't support her political goals. She's great and I hope Biden has something special for her because my fear is we're going to waste one of the brightest political minds of this era.
  20. Can I pay $30 each to watch "Tenet" and "No Time To Die" now? I enjoy the theater experience, but am happy to pay more to watch at home if I don't have to wait another year.
  21. One of the big reasons he gave for leaving is just too many people in LA and bad traffic. I didn't realize Austin, or any Texas metro, was where you went to escape traffic.
  22. I think people are also overestimating how blue the suburbs have become. Yes, the GOP's victory margin has been decreasing every couple of years. I'm still seeing Trump signs all over the place in my Dallas suburban neck of the woods and few Biden signs. I'm hoping it's a sign that Trump's base is just much more enthusiastic and the Democrats are becoming more of a silent majority rather than the polls being wrong and Texas not becoming as blue as quickly as predicted. I also see a bunch of Trump cheerleading nonsense on Nextdoor from both suburban men and women.
  23. The dad's fart at the 36 second mark when the son picks him up to carry him out is just fantastic.
  24. To each their own. I started with a neck gaiter back in March but found that much material hugging my face and neck too hot in Texas. It seemed like it was the hardest to breathe in.
