  1. With teams and using the plural v singular, I am guilty of switching back and forth but I genuinely think it's only because of all the English commentary, podcasts, articles, etc. It's not something I intentionally do, because I agree that it sounds silly. But what's really inexcusable is the idiots at the bar yelling "cmon you Gunnnnnaahs!", "feck off!" or singing their club's anthem in a feigned British accent.
  2. Not surprised to see Milner and Gini out there but Naby's omission is pretty shocking. Shaqiri is a great option off the bench if we need a goal but Keita has played really well the last few matches and links the midfield with the attack so well. VvD, Salah, and Mané in a nervy 3-1 win.
  3. Was only able to watch the second half but I thought Fabinho had some spells where he looked absolutely fantastic. Can't wait to see him become a fixture in the XI. Shaqiri has been a revelation with his ability to play sliderule passes. Never seen that out of him anywhere he's ever played. The best part is that Naby Keita has mostly been shit this year. When he settles into the team and league, watch the eff out.
  4. Big difference between a slight hamstring strain and chronic knee problems.
  5. We've scored 3 goals in our last 4 matches. I'm not worried long-term but we've looked pretty anemic over the last month.
  6. The entire attack is. Maybe Shaqiri and a midfield shakeup can give us a shot in the arm.
  7. Obviously don't want Mo to miss any sort of extended time, but given the funk that's currently enveloping the attack, a forced change might not be the worst thing in the world. With both Milner and Salah out, we have to see some fresh faces. I can't help but think that Klopp has been targeting these next few weeks for bringing in Fabinho. No idea if he played for Brasil over the break or if he was back at Melwood, but if it's the latter then you have to think we'll see his first PL start before long.
  8. And verbally abuse you while you mourn the death of thousands of Americans.
  9. John Terry is a racist piece of shit. That's all.
  10. Re: Fabinho, look at how long it took for Klopp to get Ox and Robertson regular minutes. It's a long, long season, with a crazy 2-3 week period in the middle when you play every 3 days. Fabinho will get his time, likely immediately following this international break. Keita has been pedestrian so far. I couldn't have been more excited about his signing but he's really struggled out the gate. Not sure what else Klopp could do with our midfield.
  11. Brewers fan here. Not often we get relevant discussion on the Shag Surl. Given how hot we are and how tepid y'all are, I like our chances. But Quintana has like a 0.00 ERA against the Brewers this season while he's sucked shit through a straw against everyone else. Also, currently in Chicago for work and the thought of getting anything done today is laughable.
  12. Through 7 league games last year, Salah had 4 goals. Through 7 league games this year, Salah has 3 goals. I think you're forgetting how many chances he missed early on in the season last year. I agree that it's been a bit frustrating to see him fluff chances and make some bad decisions in the final third, but he wasn't bagging every chance he got last year, at least not right out the gate.
  13. Hard to know if that's actually true or if Klopp is just playing head games. Tend to think he'll play, unless the injury is more serious than originally thought.
  14. I respect that you answered that very obvious pisstake in earnest.
  15. I don't think so. Sure, it was at home, but Wolves isn't a bad team that's already taken a point off the other Mancs.
  16. That was about as easy a win as you'll see. Was basically a kickaround. Gonna sweat out the VVD injury news but it looked more precautionary than anything.
  17. He did grow with them. Mission accomplished. Now he can do the "getting a lot of achievements" thing at his new club.
  18. Raise your hand if you thought Gini and James effin' Milner were going to be our best players 6 games into the season.
  19. Heads up that the match today is on TNT. Just checked to make sure I can stream and caught a bit of the studio show – too early to get much of an impression, but it's Gooch, Bocanegra, Stu Holden, the token female, and Steve Nash. I don't hate it. Thank fuck those morons Warren Barton and Alexi Lalas aren't part of CL coverage anymore.
  20. England's best midfielder out 6 weeks after ankle surgery.
  21. I'm just glad he can see out of that eye. (He can still see out of that eye, right?)
