  1. “They’re going to attack all the green and there’s really nothing we can do about it. I suggest milking clock.”
  2. In my perfect world, Texas is the team that sends them home just so there’s no “Texas got lucky not having to face them” angle. But, yeah, Texas has everything in front of them with the chance to make it all happen.
  3. With what it very much appears is being built with these guys, it seems to me that you don’t let anyone leave over money unless you have access to a demonstrable upgrade who’s also a good fit. I also agree on Choate. Unless he just absolutely can’t be talked out of wanting to be the guy, even at a smaller place, make it borderline impossible for him to bail.
  4. What about ugly people, fat people, poor people, people who live in mobile homes, people missing teeth, or people with drug problems? Can they still be punchlines? Crying band members? Crying kids? Fair game or off limits? Jokes portraying homoerotic themes with negative connotations? What are acceptable punchlines now?
  5. One of Tech’s reasons for existing is to be beaten down in Austin.
  6. https://www.calmclinic.com/anxiety/symptoms/euphoria “Panic attacks are severe moments of extremely intense anxiety that can be emotionally and physically draining. After the anxiety attack is over, some people report that they feel euphoric, almost as if their brain has decided to make up for the severity of the panic.”
  7. Is Texas going to be playing their All-Time teams or this season’s teams?
  8. Yes, I’ve had that conversation here. You get the ball in your athletes’ hands with a chance to succeed. If it doesn’t work, it doesn’t work, but that doesn’t make it a bad call. The “counter” was that it failed so it’s inherently a bad call. I asked if it would be a bad call to keep the ball in VY’s hands on 4th and 5 if he slipped and failed to convert. Of course not, but he didn’t want to go down that road. A bad call is, for example, not giving the ball to Marshawn Lynch in the Super Bowl. If you give it to your fucking guy and it fails, that’s football. If you don’t even give your guy a chance, you’ll go to your grave regretting it. Or, dare I say it, a 4 yard hook or out at the boundary on 3rd and 5. Not that we’ve ever seen that.
  9. No, you were told that because a) it’s worked, b) it’s led to big plays with Worthy passing, c) it opens other plays, d) Sarkisian isn’t just pulling plays out of a bag, and e) Sarkisian has seen how OU defends those plays… or when they think those plays are coming. That you take a throwaway line and use that for the reason your take is bad shouldn’t be surprising, I guess. If/when Sarkisian gives that look and takes advantage of the reaction, against OU or someone else, it will be interesting to see your take.
  10. Texas was, I believe, 3-1 against those guys.
  11. They were fortunate to catch Texas early and only lose by 10. I think they handle the Aggies, though.
  12. Yeah, the whole “what’s it going to take” phrasing absolutely is staking out a position on the question and he wasn’t having it.
  13. It’s kind of a bitch move, imo, but the officials have whistles for a reason and I didn’t hear any.
  14. Or course they haven’t faced anyone in the top 70. It was their smothering defense that knocked them so low in the rankings. Or something.
  15. Yes, I do: “Wait until you see how Alabama is no longer down and is, in fact, probably the second best team in the country now that Saban has set Millroe straight.”
  16. Yeah, I’ve posted a couple of times that that will be their approach. Doesn’t make it any less ridiculous. Protect the ball and, FFS, give Proctor some help if he needs it. I think the Alabama defense will be fine. I’m looking forward to Alabama snuffing them as dessert for the beatdown in Dallas.
  17. A&M has been tested. They failed. I think the flaw in the Aggies’ take is that they think Auburn and Arkansas are much of anything. They’ve painted themselves into a corner with their attempt to explain Texas’ win in Tuscaloosa. If they lose, they’re more or a joke. If they win, they beat a down team at home.
  18. The Big 12 really needs Texas to lose at least twice, imo. If the goal were to make that happen, I don’t think it would be reasonable to rely on WV, KSU, etc. to make it feasible for it to happen twice outside of OU.
  19. Yeah, I figured it was something like that or a wireless mouse. Not worth the trouble, imo, even though I ran an extra HDMI cable through the wall in case I ever changed my mind.
  20. I suspect the plan, such as it is, will be to try to bring the resources to try to keep Brooks from gashing them and see if Ewers can do anything about it. I’ve been wrong before, though.
