  1. People thinking a 2-loss Texas because "brand" is a shoe-in need to step back. In the 2-loss scenario where we lose to aggy, these are our comparables in the SEC: 10-2 aggy, who would own H2H vs. Texas AND stronger SOS AND is a big brand in terms of TV viewership (not as big as Texas but not so big to make a difference when they own H2H) 10-2 UGA, who would own H2H vs. Texas AND stronger SOS AND top 25 wins vs. (16) Clemson, (11) Tennessee, AND is a 5* brand just like Texas 10-2 Tenn, whose SOS > Texas SOS AND has top 25 win vs. (7) Bama AND is a big brand 10-2 Bama, whose SOS > Texas SOS AND has top 25 win vs. (8) UGA AND is a big brand 10-2 Ole Miss, whose SOS > Texas SOS AND has top 25 win vs. (8) UGA vs. 10-2 Texas, who has the lowest SOS of the group and zero top 25 wins and in this scenario has taken the latest regular-season loss (and if that loss is to aggy won't have the chance to redeem it in the SECCG). We are a big brand though. ...SEC isn't getting 6 into the CFP. Probably not five. Who are the 2 you're leaving out of the list to put in Texas, if we lose to aggy? In that scenario aggy and probably Bama play the SECCG so they're probably in. 2 more spots. UGA gets one with the next-best resume. 1 spot left for Texas, Tenn, Ole Miss. I guess we could squeak over Ole Miss, barely?
  2. Are there still any scenarios where we beat the aggies and then see them again in the SEC championship? Guess Tennessee wins tonight and then loses next week?
  3. This is a shitty fucking comment regardless of how you feel about QE
  4. Maybe not but the howls from the media and every non-Texas fanbase would be awful. It's already starting, how "Texas doesn't have any top 25 wins," there is a huge article in the Athletic that basically says Georgia should be ranked above Texas since they won head-to-head even though UGA has 2 losses because "UGA has three top 25 wins to Texas' zero"
  5. 3/6/6 is best obviously, but the three big roadblocks have been 1) Bama (ne Saban) complaining that their 3 perm rivals were harder than everyone else (Auburn, Tenn, Georgia/LSU?), and 2) the small schools like MSU, UK, Vandy, SCAR wanting an easier path to bowl eligibility that comes from feeding on that 4th cupcake, and obviously 3) the $$$ that comes from hosting a cupcake is big - even after paying them to take the L, the home school gets all that ticket and concessions gate. Until Disney ponies up for the 9th game, the money makes more sense to host a directional school vs. giving up a home game every other year to a conference matchup if the TV-money is held equal. I think news reports said that Sankey was able to get over the Bama concerns but there was a roughly even divide between bigger/smaller schools with regard to the 8 vs. 9 game SEC schedule. SEC likes unison on decisions (or the appearance of unison), so it would not surprise me to see us stick w/ 8 games for another 2-year cycle.
  6. IU should be somewhere 2-4, they're being discounted due to history
  7. That must have been the game I watched then. tbh I thought it was kinda a cool tradition.
  8. Do they still throw a penalty flag on the visitors to start the game that home team declines for these?
  9. Almost...pussy, amirite or amirite?!
  10. So the answer is "no" then?
  11. Huh? Is there any evidence of this or is it conjecture? I can think of a much more logical answer, which is that Trump is stupid and entitled and walked out the door last time with what in his mind were "mementos" of his time in office that he wanted as keepsakes. That doesn't make it any less illegal, but there is a pretty big jump to "he was selling national secrets to Russia." Is there some other evidence of that I missed?
  12. What pussies! And to pre-empt the lame "you're comparing QE to Montana?" response, NO - I'm illustrating that every QB from pop warner through NFL HOF goes through runs where they have bad play, and that doesn't make them "pussies."
  13. Every single person on this board has taken actions in their life that other people would say "that was really pussy." Does that make everyone here a pussy then? No, because the sum of a man or woman is more than a few actions or a few football games. To label someone a pussy because they aren't playing the way you like is simplistic and lacking class. Unless that is you're asserting that you know enough to actually say QE is actually a pussy?
  14. There is a sizable difference that you majorly gloss over here between "QE is playing like a pussy" and "QE is a pussy." I'd halfway agree w/ the first. The 2nd is stupid and out-of-bounds and I'd hope someone who is so involved in paying players NIL would know that.
  15. People zipper in too early, then get mad that other people are "cutting the line" by not allowing people to merge at the proper zipper point.
  16. I just want to know who sucks more, Quinn Ewers or Chris Beard? I'm going with Beard, he REALLY sucked.
  17. OsU: Wicked Witch of the West Edition
  18. Friendly reminder to all that Sark said Xavier Worthy was fine all year and then we find out later he played the year with a broken hand. Coaches lie.
  19. Wadlington thinks he is much, much smarter than he actually is
  20. *Top 11 but yeah. I still have scars from Barry fucking Switzer announcing OU squeaked by Texas by 0.00000001 point in the BCS back in the day so I'm gonna expect disappointment until shown otherwise.
  21. Good news is by the time we hit aggy we will be really accustomed to seeing blitzes. We're about to get a ton of live game reps.
  22. Prefer not to rely on that and back in on the strength of our "brand."
  23. If we take a loss to aggy in the last week of the season there is a really good chance we'll be out.
  24. First, fake internet points are dumb. Second, RE: your context point, it illustrates that there are a lot more people out there who agree with @Thatguy, or at least that while QE has been sub-par we shouldn't pull the trigger on Arch yet. And, there is a super-vocal minority of some size in the camp of "QE is a total pussy and the reason we suck," "Put in Arch because he's gives us a better chance to win now," or "This year is sunk anyway let's write it off and get started on next year with Arch now." The first camp will rep posts they agree with but don't want to expend the mental energy engaging in a pointless slap fight with the other camp.
