  1. 300k for a dude uga is projecting at guard? Jeez. I thought our 50k a year with the pancake factory was going to make us an attractive spot for elite talent but if school are tossing out 300k to guys that aren’t at the level at Kelvin Banks, then that is insane. I wonder how long this will all last. It’s not like the guys funding these players are getting a ROI. This isn’t the nfl and the bag game and NiL seem to be reaching crazy levels. I understand a dude like Collin Simmons demanding big time money but not a dude that is a borderline tackle prospect.
  2. Texas did not have a holding call called against their opponent in big 12 play all season last year. In two big 12 games, officials did not call a single penalty against our opponent. Not a single holding call… let that soak in.
  3. He said that they it would tell us more about their recruitment regarding commitment timeline. He still maintains its Texas/ LSU for both. Simmons is friends with all the dfw guys at Texas, has a starting spot with his name written on it and has been mentioned as being smart with his recruitment regarding NiL. He knows he will have a Bijan like experience here if he shows it on the field.
  4. Alright…. Worthy made me want to pull my hair out last season at times bc the guy had such a special freshman season. Regardless, one of the most talented WRs to come through Texas. I will not be surprised when he starts breaking into Texas records this season. Elite routes, elite speed, plays tough. Hoping the hand is healed and Chris Jackson gets the best out of him because he has an opportunity to have a big season with Mitchell next to him. At his best, he’s a first round talent.
  5. Speaking of Simmons, the dude that did the Longhorn podcast did some home work and said that 70% 5 star top 10 national edge rushers have been 1st round NFL picks. Simmons would fall in that category. Imagine a defense in 1-2 years starting Simmons, Mitchell, Ant Hill, Derek Williams, Manny Muhammad, and Kobe Black. We’re talking about potential multiple 1st and 2nd round picks here and that’s leaving off a ton of talents guys. Those are guys Bama, UGA, LSU, tOSU have been poaching for years. Nice to see Sark be able to get these elite dudes on defense. We really need to win 10 games and win the big 12 and this program is going to take off.
  6. Some notes from Bobby and Gerry’s recent recruiting vid. - 5 star Ryan Wingo trending Texas. Mentioned Sark has a very good feel for this recruitment and is selling 3 open starting spots next year and life outside of football, things Wingo is looking for. 6’2, 215 pounds and can run. Looks like a guy we’ll see be the deep vertical threat to replace Mitchell/Neyor potentially. Arch also recruiting him hard. - Expects JJR to commit to Texas. - Feels like Texas is in a strong spot for Baker and they feel it’s more Texas and Ohio State than Oregon. - looks like Ivy is next for the guard spot after Saina picked USC. - expects Calhoun to pick UGA soon and then expect Texas to pick it up with Weston Davis and thinks Davis would want to visit. - Texas/ou for McKinley and driving distance is a factor. Texas has a shot here and is probably leading. - In a good spot for TJ Lindsey. Says he wants to play in SEC or he would pick Miami. Parents don’t him in Miami and like Texas. - We look good for Melvin Hills and they think he is severely underrated. Ole Miss going hard after Hills - January should pick us soon. Too much Dline coaching change at LSU and dad is a Texas alum. Similar build to Sweat. - Don’t look good for Robinson, Blockton, Hibler. Jayden Jackson has been recruited buy Ohio state and their D line coach since he was in middle school. But also has lots of family in Texas.
  7. This is a such a big get. We’ve been weak at center for over a decade. Gerry/Bobby have said that Cruz reminds them a lot of Creed Humphrey. Dude is a wrestler, shot put, has quick feet, and can handle a bull rush. Also mentioned that Cruz is a nasty blocker and has a Studdard like mentality.
  8. As annoying as EJ was, he wasn’t the boring snooze fest Roach is. I feel like they lost all their listeners on their recruiting podcast bc of how boring that fat fuck is. Dude would be out of breath just talking.
  9. USC and Miami did not to the extent that Bama, Clemson, lsu, aggy did. It’s why their recruiting has all of the sudden taken off. Cristobal knows the bag game and they seem to actually have NiL. Some of those schools had a bag game but they have a much bigger advantage now that they can legally pay people and are in bigger markets with corporate help. Hell USC is skipping even recruiting high school guys and are now tampering and buying productive players off other teams. I hope they keep doing it too. Saban should get a taste of his own medicine. They didn’t have a big bag game the last decade and it shows in their recruiting rankings like Texas. Not saying those schools didn’t have some sort of pay for play or didn’t recruit good players. Just saying that we’re going to see a big shift in the schools elite players will visit. All of the sudden, Bama and LSU are struggling to keep their own players in state. CTJ always gives us great insight and we should thank aggy for upping the ante. Many schools simply don’t have e the fan base or money to compete. I cannot wait till Texas One Fund starts incorporating some sort of point system where your donations for season tickets go to NiL. Our Death Star will be even bigger. Can’t wait for us to get Simmons, Mack, McKinley, Black and watch lsu cry.
  10. Texas was always a cool school and all things equal, most kids would pick Austin and Texas over other schools. What’s happened is that we’re not playing the game with one hand tied behind the back anymore. It’s not just us. Look at the schools where most of the top recruits are visiting. UGA, Texas, Miami, Oregon, USC, tOSU, Tenn. It’s no wonder Brian Kelly and Saban and running and crying to congress bc NiL isn’t fair. Fuck those schools, they’ve been cheating and paying since the mid to late 2000s. It makes me smile when I think about those Bama and lsu inbreds trying to compete with the big boosters and corporate NiL opportunities in big markets. I hope we put a beating on Saban this fall. That motherfucker has lucked his way in two two wins against Texas with our QBs getting hurt in the 1st quarter.
  11. Everyone has said this is purely a NIL recruitment. IT guys have also said the Duncanville coaches want their players to shut their recruitments down prior to the season. We don’t have a big QB recruit this cycle so maybe Texas has a big NIL package for him and he will start day 1 at Texas. We check a lot of boxes if the money is there.
  12. Kobe Black is an elite athlete. Anyone else here pumped they’re about to add another young 5 star athlete in the CB room to go along with Malik Muhammad and Terrence Brooks. Texas is getting back to being DBU.
  13. Cruz, Saina (sp?), and Brooks Ivy is being recruited as a center and we like Cruz so he was essentially passed on, still a very good prospect. Saina has big time offers and his HUDL is him just mauling and pancaking people. Gerry says Brooks is severely underrated and expects him to get a bump.
  14. Gerry mentioned he's been trolling Texas fans with his twitter pictures. I'm sure he's being fed bullshit by Hudson and doesn't buy it one bit bc I did notice as well that Gerry put in a 100% pick. IT never does that and they normally make sure they don't take away a kids moment by being blatant about it. I imagine Gerry put it in as a 100% pick for a reason.
  15. It seems like we have Cook in line to replace Worthy and Moore in line to replace Whittington. Hudson isn't a 6'4 deep threat like Neyor and Mitchell so he would essentially have to beat out two guys that have come into the program extremely polished and with a year already into the program. Wingo looks like the body type and profiles well to replace Neyor/Mitchell. I'm sure Sark is selling him immediate playing time. I haven't watched Freddy Dubose film/HUDL but it sounds like he's an athletic freak from a speed and jumping ability so I'm assuming he'll probably complete for the same spot Mitchell/Neyor will be playing.
  16. Gerry mentioned on last night live stream that Texas is going to basically keep evaluating and wait for senior seasons. They will also continue to recruit Smith through the season and see if his commitment sticks to USC. I really like this staff's recruiting method. They don't jump to plan B and take guys just to take guys like every other staff we've had the last decade. There will always be guys like Warren Roberson and Jelani McDonald that pop up later in the year. If not, I bet they go portal. We did take 5 talented LBs last class so it's going to be hard to convince dudes to ride the bench or compete with guys that have a year head start into the program.
  17. No point in melting down over Micah Hudson. It’s a position that has abundance of talent in the high school ranks and portal and one that Texas has recruited very well since Sark has gotten here. Not sure what Sark can do if the kid decides to pick Lubbock as a legacy and chooses to be coached by a RB coach instead of going to the likes of Texas, Ohio state, Georgia etc. Good luck to the kid.
  18. Tech also hired a former coach of his and Bobby mentioned it was playing a factor in his recruitment.
  19. I'm not even sure either school would take his commitment. Players that don't have it from the mental evaluation stand point have a very high bust ratio. I'm guessing the staff wants to take a swing at Stone, Wingo, and Hudson before moving to back up options.
  20. Baker hasn’t really visited USC much recently and he said so on his ON3 interview.. It seems like it’s Texas Oregon at this.
  21. Multiple people including Whittington have talked about how good Murphy has been in practice/scout team. I think part of why teammates also think highly of him is because of how he commands the offense and players. Leadership comes naturally to him where guy like Card and Ewers may not innately have it in them. Murphy has all the arm talent from an accuracy and arm strength stand point. His biggest weakness is his lack of experience playing games since he backed up a D1 prospect in high school till his senior year and now Ewers. I don't think Ewers is going to have the leash he did last year. If he shits the best the way he did the 2nd half of last year, he will get benched for Murphy. Sark isn't in a position this year to ride loses with a QB playing poorly with all the talent on the roster. With all that said, I think Ewers is going to kick ass this year.
  22. More of Kirkland interview talking about Bama game and some of the freshman/teammates. Interesting to see how teammates view each other.
  23. Watching his highlight, the kid has great footwork and pocket presence. Has an extremely quick release. He's going to end up a top 50 player nationally. Not too many QBs with his tape at his age and he plays 6A ball in Bama so the competition isn't shitty either.
