Every team that plays Ohio State close comes away bitching about red zone play calling. That's their trademark going back years, they seem to revel in getting pushed to the brink then they lock it down. I think it's why you so often see them on the score scroll beating some mediocre team 13-6 in the 3rd quarter before they pull away.

You're partly right - I'm thinking of Penn State damn near every game for the past decade, but also every other decent Big Ten team at some point, and us in the Cotton Bowl and yesterday. If we tried play action or something, Arch would have a defender wrapped around him before he picked his head up. Going grown ass man on them was probably the best strategy, but NOT in the form of a tush push with q QB who squats a-buck-eighty or whatever

  3. Penn State is also going crazy soft with their non-conference. Zero P4 this year or next, then they have home-and-home with mighty Syracuse in 2027-28. Plus Ohio State cycles off their schedule in 2026 and 2027. They're gonna dare the committee to leave them out at 10-2.

Easy.  Ya just don't lead 'em so much.

I recently finished "Dispatches" the 1977 book by Michael Herr (incredibly intense) and a lot of the dialogue in FMJ is word-for-word what he experienced covering the war. That includes the quotes above, "Hey little schoolgirl, I'm a little schoolboy too" and "No more boom-boom for this mama-san". Oh and a bunch of the "Come on board for the big win" conversation which is posted a little earlier.

FMJ is more based on a different book, "The Short-Timers," but it draws a lot from Dispatches.

This was well done. Like the Larry Nassar story, it's shocking and infuriating how many victims piled up over so many years. Really courageous of the many athletes who sat down for painful interviews. The recent OSU administrations have continued to fight legal claims even as the school soars into the stratosphere of athletic and financial success. Jim Jordan is as awful as we already knew.

  6. They can't come out and say "Iowa can't make the CFP without help" or "We need to keep Charleston Southern on our schedule" so instead we get weeks of posturing. Neither B1G (4 guaranteed spots) nor SEC (stay at 8 conf games) has a good argument. At least at this point we're basically having a stare down over whether Iowa or South Carolina makes it in a certain year. Not a ton of money involved either way.

  7. Sappy finale but I guess they know their audience. Same reason they were always brief and vague about the Gilead revolution and takeover. Viewers like us on this board would be into that but the show is about the women and their struggle.

  8. 16 of the Eagles' 17 games next season will be against teams who voted to ban the tush push. Of the nine teams that voted with the Eagles, only Detroit is on their 2025 schedule. Seems like they lobbied mostly non-west AFC teams who could force the AFC West (plus Buffalo) to face the tush push and maybe hurt their wild card chances a little bit.

    Watched this too

Plausible, but pretty cliche at times

      Hide contents

Whole family survives - the daughter just happens to get off the first plane that easily, and then is one of, what, 3 survivors when the entire plane was hit by a tsunami

Brother of the Thai tsunami girl being killed was pretty duh, saw that coming

LOL your spoiler is why I turned it off early

    Spoiler

Plane slams into a mountain, like 15 minutes later a bunch of survivors are already hanging out at the hospital

  10. ^ Same here. I think TWD got so bad, and I stayed with it so long, that it hastened my abandonment of this series. There's probably some really good parts happening, given the acting and cinematography, but not worth enduring even 1-2 weekly scenes that are TWD redux
