  1. Speaking of outdoor venues, I can finally confirm the Just Like Heaven fest lives up to its name. I avoid festivals because of the physical beating, but I figured if I'm gonna be outside for 7ish hours, the golf course at the Rose Bowl in mid-May is a pretty good spot. I also splurged on "Clubhouse" access which allowed us into the golf course clubhouse and had free food and alcohol (good enough selection). Saw all or part of: Washed Out, Phantogram, Two Door Cinema Club, Passion Pit, Death Cab for Cutie, War on Drugs and Postal Service. They have two stages on far ends of the golf course. At least one sand trap was being used as a real life sand box with kids digging and playing. The sound was better than I expected, I'm amazed what they can do with only like 15 minutes between sets. Passion Pit was my highlight because I assumed the main guy had hung it up years ago. They've barely played live and no new music in almost 10 years. But he mentioned they want to get out more often in the near future. Two Door Cinema was the act I didn't know much about but will definitely be following now.
  2. Actually no, according to the EPL itself. If you're thinking 2012, City led on goal differential going into the day but then were in major jeopardy of dropping points to QPR before the famous Aguero winner. So it seemed like they flipped it but technically not
  3. This will be the 10th time in 33 years of the Premier League era the title has gone to the final day, and the second place club has never overtaken the leader. So basically it's over, but at least there is some reason to tune in
  4. It is what it is. Most of City's CL exits have been just not creating enough real chances out of their massive possession advantage
  5. Seems like the team that spent the last 90ish minutes trying to kill the game and get to this point is typically rewarded in PKs
  6. If City follows its recent m.o., either Foden or KDB will bury one from about 20 yards after getting frustrated by not being able to get Haaland anything to work with up close. But RM will have counter opportunities as well.
  7. I wasn't expecting immediate capitulation by both home teams today. I wouldn't rule out a City draw at some point, but the others probably aren't running the table anyway.
  8. Those politicians might want to check where the Tigahs football team is during the anthem in Death Valley
  9. Outkick guy tried to confront Mulkey about that during the pc and she was like huh? We do what we always do
  10. If we make it to Friday, that's gonna be tough. Can't really trust any of the 1-2's
  11. I'm ready now if y'all are kicking people out
  12. Venmo sent 1 - North Carolina 2 - Iowa State 3 - Baylor 4 - Auburn 5 - Gonzaga 6 - BYU 7 - Florida 8 - FAU 9 - aggy 10 - UVA/CSU winner 11 - Oregon 12 - Grand Canyon 13 - Charleston 14 - Morehead State 15 - Long Beach 16 - Montana St / Grambling winner Wild Card: Texas Tech (6 seed)
  13. Would have had the backdoor cover if RT didn't call timeout for the "teachable moment" full court press / hand them two FTs. It's March 5, just play defense, cut the lead to 7 and let Baylor dribble out the clock.
  14. I think we'll cover the spread? Based on BU being on more of a high after a mostly easy whipping of Kansas. Also with so many days off coming up, no reason for our guys not to ball out until the final whistle, even if we're behind most of the time. Backdoor cover
  15. I rarely cry "refs" either but that was a trophy-changing call
  16. I like the theory that USA is bound for Philly on July 4, assuming a favorable path to the final 16
  17. Glad I'm not there this weekend, but really curious what it will be like. So many of the strip hotel rooms will be occupied by NFL or NFL-adjacent employees who have strict no-gambling clauses in their contracts. Then cheap-ass Niners fans who are always in Vegas anyway. Kinda suspect there will be a lot of empty $50+ tables at the mid-range casinos. I also think a lot of people fly out before the game on Sunday, which is unusual for a Vegas SB weekend.
  18. Where are they now update....
  19. John Ourand wouldn't be wrong about something this big. Congrats again to O's fans. Private equity generally sucks but has to be better than whatever the Angelos family would have done
  20. I've stayed in Livonia a few times. It's convenient to the airport and Ann Arbor, without going through Detroit. Mostly chain hotels and restaurants, but there are plenty of them so cost isn't bad. If you stay right by the airport (Romulus), there are practically no restaurants or activities. Game day traffic is kind of like Norman, OK...there just aren't many options so prepare to go early. Luckily there's lots to do and see around the stadium and the weather should be nice (or not as hot as Texas, at least). Glad to hear Detroit is rehabbing well. So much potential left over from the auto days
  21. Lots of fucking in this show. Reminds me of a saying I heard way back, I think it was about Upper Peninsula Michigan: In the summer, all they do is fish and fuck. In the winter, they don't fish.
  22. The Eagles winning at the Cardinals' stadium today would be salt in the wound here in Philly
  23. 11 am local kickoff, looks like a Cardinals pre-season game in there CFP expanding just in time, because the four non-playoff "NY6" bowls have been total duds
