  1. Franklin was atrocious, but PSU lost because of inexperience on defense imo. Taking crazy angles and blitzes not getting home. The screen to Dobbins from the 4 getting all the way out to the 42 was far worse than any play calling gaffe.
  2. That annoyed me more than anything in the tweet. Just lazy and stupid not to @ them, especially since they're his top performer
  3. The big SEC game will be on CBS, not that it matters because while GameDay prefers ABC/ESPN locations, nowadays they know they have to break ranks several times a year for every conference except the ACC. Texas-OU is probably top of their list assuming both win this week. As mentioned above, they have no problem moving the talent into the stadium for the last 30 minutes or whatever.

The crazy thing is, we wouldn't have tried to score again. They were at their own 38, assuming an incompletion we would have run three times into the pile and either punted or maybe tried to throw for a game-ending first down. That punt cost him about a minute of the clock, 10 yards worse field position and he lost those precious two timeouts. It was just dumb.

That punt on 4th and 4 with a couple minutes and two timeouts left...in decent field position too. I mean that is in the same league as some of the shit we saw from Strong and late-era Mack. Hope someone asked him about it postgame
  6. Perfect thread to share some of those stories from the good days. I've always felt just like gambling requires luck, falling into those superfun situations at a table, bar, etc. is also pretty much blind luck. You can't plan when/where the celebrity or bachelorettes are gonna stroll up to your table.
  7. Called them Wisconsin too, on a punt early in the game. It's almost enough to make me watch this crew every week to see if that's just their thing. Ohio State should shred PSU, I don't see them working out their many defensive issues in one week. And McSorley can be forced into mistakes.
  8. If Train is ever invited to the Super Bowl, and Maroon 5 is in that direction imo, I'm out on the NFL.
  9. The Phillies had a nice season to stay in it so long, including good mid-summer results against some really good teams. But the offense was never there, and the young pitchers (starters and bullpen) eventually wore down and were exposed. We have some bright spots, decent farm system and a lot of money to spend. The problem is we really only have one position player (Hoskins) who you can actually see in a playoff caliber lineup every day. Even signing a big free agent bat isn't going to be nearly enough to fix the offense. The Braves are way more balanced.
  10. Proud that I survived until the Monday games! Was really tempted to switch from DET to LAR at the last minute but I was counting on the Jets to out-pathetic the Lions, especially on the road. Good luck to the remainers
  11. Yeah, Ajayi has value but Tyreek is a monster. The Eagles also like to prove Sproles is capable of scoring goal-to-go rushing TDs, and when Wentz comes back he'll be able to sneak from the 1. I doubt Ajayi has many weeks like this.
  12. I don't think any team offered more than a 5th-6th rounder for Foles. He played fine, considering he had zero deep threats without Alshon, and for some reason Ertz played like shit. The interception wasn't a good throw but it was also a lucky bounce to be picked. Foles was in total control the second half, got the ball out quickly and ran the hurry-up offense when ATL was gassed. I'm obviously really happy how that game went. Eagles defense remains outstanding, the offense will only get better/healthier and it is amazing to have a coach who you don't spend the whole game questioning his decisions. That was a big win over a fellow NFC playoff contender.
  13. Javier's in the middle/far side of Aria casino floor was really good Mexican imo.
  14. I think they did, at least as a successful indie touring act. "Let it Burn" is another good one. Live show was really high energy, too. Like Deej said, I could totally see this behavior from all kinds of performers going unpunished. But with social media and MeToo, these guys are finished.
  15. Indie rock band. This song got a lot of play a couple years ago
  16. I thought these guys did an amazing live show and were really talented musicians. I happened to talk with a band member's relative beforehand, and he mentioned the lead singer was kind of out of control and thought of himself as a Jim Morrison type. Now recently a number of women have alleged he and other members of the group engaged in various sex crimes in addition to generally being assholes. Sounds like much of the Chicago music community wasn't wild about them either. They announced on Twitter on Aug 29 they are disbanding, and canceled their fall tour. Twitter doc compiles allegations
  17. I hate these fucking things, never come close to winning. Just signed up and paid
  18. Ham's posts should have gone first, would make more sense. Bear is Chris Fallica, I think his stuff is informative. At least he brings info and not trying to be an actor or something. No idea what his pick-record is, but he always has solid reasoning for it. He's a Miami-Fla fan as I recall
  19. I like the Bear point spread stuff, and they may bump that content up now that it's being legalized.
  20. Hopefully Meyer's weekly teleconferences and press conferences are full of specific questions following up on this report. It wouldn't surprise me if he does away with his press conference once he comes back.
  21. They're gonna get torn apart by columnists and some women's groups. Not knowing what triggers a report in 2015 is inexcusable. It won't affect their 2018 season, but the way they botched the whole affair will linger. This is not a model program, and everyone outside Columbus knows that now. Any year they lose 2-3 games the heat will get turned up fast. And the AD probably slinks away next spring.
  22. Like I posted earlier, I predict the 9/29 GameDay from State College will have a somber sit-down with Rinaldi, who will ask tough questions but Urban will easily deflect them. Then cut to a panel including Laura Rutledge and Maria Taylor talking about how difficult it is for abused wives to escape their situations. Then later in the show, another panel including Herbstreit to emphasize that none of the current players have anything to do with this situation, and it's good to be back talking football again. Here's how the Bucks' front will shut down McSorley tonight etc etc
  23. That is a weird theory, I mean he plainly offered to let her read it alongside him. Although it would point to her starting to realize what a shitbag he is. I was struck that he managed to get out of bed and leave the house for probably at least an hour and all she said in the morning was, "You slept late." She's smarter than that imo.
  24. McMurphy probably has reported everything up to now, but if the whitewash report contains any blatant lies, he probably has the evidence and would publish that within a day or two. But it would have to really be a smoking gun to reverse the verdict.
  25. College GameDay already blocking off a segment for the stern-faced sit-down with Tom Rinaldi on 9/29 at Penn State
