  1. At one point the ACC presidents had a snobbish attitude but they got over and added some programs that would help football.

The BIG presidents blabs about academics but the reality is they rejected Cal and accepted Nebraska who isn't close to Cal academically.

The PAC presidents have held onto to their snobbish attitude to the point of no return This is an ATHLETICS conference.

  2. If Klavikoff is fired the PAC presidents would hire another incompetent buffoon that will make mistakes until the conference is dead. I browsed a Washington board and several of their fans realize the presidents are ultimately responsible for this.

  3. I agree with Huard about Cal but Stanford's administration tries at football within their academic limitations and they have had several good teams in the last 15 years. An elite private school with only 8,000 undergrads isn't going to have great attendance but I don't think their administration can do much about that.

  4. SEC expansion has always been about increasing payouts for existing members and no one is going to take less money to be in the same conference with Florida State or UNC or anyone else. There's plenty of four year universities in the South that play football and if the B10 wants to have schools in every corner of the US, more power to them. That isn't the SEC's goal which was to get into Texas and that's done.

  5. I'm surprised at Arkansas and Tennessee but I know Arkansas had good support when Nolan Richardson had things going. I'm a UK fan but I know the money is in football. If basketball mattered financially, then the ACC would be worth a fortune. Most UK fans are tired of Cal and his one and done crap but our AD gave him a huge a contract. If he doesn't get to the Final Four this year I think it will be his last year because he's aware most people are tired of him.

  6. Kentucky is the only school in the SEC that has much fan interest in men's basketball. Players generally don't want to go to schools where there is little fan interest in the sport so it's difficult to consistently be good.

  7. Maryland is a basketball school that was in a great basketball conference and they only moved because their athletics department was in terrible financial shape. They had a lot of classic games against Duke and UNC and that's gone.

  8. Aaron Rogers and some other former Cal players have talked about the hostility they have gotten from professors. Cal's administration allows some professors to do whatever they can to sabotage football. You would think Cal would look at a peer school like Michigan and see how a winning program helps the school but they don't care.

But, but they’ve profited on being Ohio adjacent. Ohio recruits that would rather play in the SEC than the Big Ten have a short drive to Lexington. Stoops to his credit, and I’m sure his Ohio roots, has taken full advantage to above average results. Ohio recruiting is plenty big for tOSU, Michigan, and Kentucky.

I think UK has some facilities/attendance issues, but the tide seems to be turning in that state. Kentucky has football fever like the rest of us.

They should play Louisville annually to grow the sport in their state.

When Stoops was hired UK made overdue improvements to the facilities and increased coaching salaries. He has won 3 of the last 5 against Florida. When he arrived UK had lost 25 times in a row against Florida and most of those games were massacres. The only coach that has done better here is Bear Bryant. The boast is purely about recruiting. In the past other football coaches would recruit against Kentucky by saying we only cared about basketball and that unfortunately was true until Stoops arrived and got UK to invest in football.
