Great idea. And while we're at it, we should commercially develop the Korean Demilitarized Zone, too.

Top 5 Gangster Movies of All Time
Any top 5 list of gangster movies that does not include Goodfellas, The Godfather, and The Godfather II is objectively wrong. Surprised that Donnie Brasco and Eastern Promises have not at least been mentioned yet.

2021 DL Barryn Sorrell
I'm comparing Sorrell and BRob in terms of the type of career Sorrell might have, i.e., what i think his ceiling as a pro likely is. I'm not necessarily comparing them with regard to individual attributes.

2021 DL Barryn Sorrell
Doesn't have the explosiveness or bend to be a great pass rusher, IMO, but he sets the edge well and has some heavy hands at the point of contact. In terms of the type of NFL player he could turn out to be, I think Brian Robison might be a good comparison. BRob started out as a sub and made himself into a solid starting LDE as a good run defender who (in his peak years) could also get you 5-9 sacks per year along with plenty of pressures and QB hits coming from the left edge.

Big Sky / Yellowstone
Buy a cheap cooler in Bozeman, hit a grocery store (there's also an Albertson's in Livingston right off I-90 when you exit for Hwy 89), and stock up on lunch stuff, munchies, sodas, etc., and save yourself the time and trouble of hitting a concessionaire in the park for lunch. That way you can eat lunch when and where you want when you're in the park. June is going to mean heavy traffic in the park, unfortunately, but you still should be able to see lots of cool stuff, e.g., Mammoth Hot Springs, Lower Geyser Basin (incl. Grand Prismatic), Upper Geyser Basin (incl. Old Faithful), and Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone. It'll be a full day, but well worth it.

The movie you just watched
Yeah, that elicited a chuckle from me as well.

The movie you just watched
Love that movie. The final scene between Bridges and Pine is worth the price of admission alone, IMO.

The movie you just watched
Saw it last weekend and liked (but didn't love) it. Agree that Law did a fine job, and I also thought Hoult was really good in his role. Jurnee Smollett, OTOH, was out of her depth. One of the things I didn't like was . . .

Legit kitchen appliances & accessories
Christ on a cracker, what the fuck am I reading here?? Beating on pans with a mallet and a two-by-four? There is not a pan in the fucking world that is worth going to that amount of trouble, and I'm including my cast iron stuff that I love.

Bourbon
It doesn't see much activity, but maybe you can rev things up a bit over there. I prefer the usual taste profiles of bourbon (e.g., vanilla, honey, caramel, cinnamon, etc.) over those of scotch or Irish whiskey, so my cabinet has far more bourbon than other types of whiskies. But every so often I'll pull the cork on some Irish or scotch, esp. when the weather is colder. A pour of Redbreast with a pint of Guinness is pretty damn fine.

Texas 2025 Roster
That's a room with talent, but it's a completely unproven room and the biggest question mark on the team IMO outside of "Can Arch be the man?" This position group is even more unproven and inexperienced than the TE group at the start of the '24 season, which is saying something. Fingers crossed that someone like Washington can step up and be something of a revelation like Helm was this past season, but at this point we really don't know if any of these guys will be able to perform (esp. in terms of run blocking) at an acceptable level.

Washington DC
Bumpity bump for restaurant recs. It's looking like we'll probably end up in Arlington near the Courthouse station for our trip in May. We've got a place booked in that area, but we can cancel without cost at any point up to shortly before our trip, so we'll keep an eye out for better deals or locations over the next few months. Now the attention turns to lining up some restaurants. I'll look back through this thread for ideas, but if anyone has recs I would appreciate it. I'm looking for something nice in D.C. for a celebration dinner, and also recs for places in or near Arlington (on the assumption that's where we'll end up staying). TIA EDIT: Got some great ideas from reading the thread. Too bad several of the D.C. restaurants bit the dust because of Covid. Could always use more ideas in the D.C. and Arlington areas.

Pulling for Buffalo over the Ravens, but will root for the team that wins that game over the Chefs. Wishing for a meteor strike in Philly. Will pull for Washington over whichever team happens to survive the strike.
