  1. Similar to the many people who think "The One I Love" by R.E.M. is so romantic.
  2. For the sake of context, would be interested in knowing what some of the heavy hitters were. In the meantime, I guess I'll have to try ET, which for whatever reason I had consigned to the same category as Old Crow, Ancient Age, and some other "bottom shelf" bottles that didn't agree with me. And if I don't like it, it becomes a mixing bottle when entertaining.
  3. I'm going to have to try the other whiskies in their line. Lost Monarch at $30 outpunches a lot of bottles costing 2 or even 3 times that amount. I'm not sure that there's anything else costing $30 or less that I like better.
  4. Thanks for posting this, Hulla. I might not have heard it had I not seen this thread.
  5. My favorite part was the posts saying "we're gonna get screwed by the sip-loving refs when we play them again." They're already rationalizing losing to UT in the future. Rent. Free.
  6. Aggy (probably): We took so much out of Bama last week that we basically won the game for Tennessee. Whoop!
  7. The really corrupt aspect of the call that he stepped out is that one of the replays showing the sideline (which confirmed that Wiley's foot never came close to stepping OOB) depicted the official watching his feet. The dude was nodding the whole time as if to say "he's good." And the head ref still ruled he was out at the 1. Then it seemed like the refs shifted course and said that his knee was down before the ball crossed the plane, which was patently absurd. Just a clusterfuck of a shitshow, but that's normal for Big 12 refs.
  8. Worst-looking GW field goal I've seen since Dusty Mangum's kick in the '05 Rose Bowl to beat Meatchicken.
  9. That was some Texas-style pass defense on 4th and 9.
  10. Don't know how Texas is going to survive in this world of tough SEC defenses.
  11. Yeah, when they first called it down at the 1, I said that it actually might be to TCU's advantage.
  12. RIP Bruce Sutter. As a kid, I watched him come out of the pen many a time and confound hitters with the splitter. A reliever winning the Cy like he did in 1979 just didn't happen. https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/34795140/hall-fame-reliever-cy-young-winner-bruce-sutter-dies
  13. "Best 3-loss team in the nation" going up on the outside of Kyle Field as I type this.
  14. Three losses in a row to Iowa Snake -- time to put an end to that nonsense.
  15. I'm familiar with the one in Los Feliz. Did not know they had opened something in Carpinteria. Good to know.
  16. This may not be the greatest rec for those with kids in tow, but the Funk Zone in SB has a lot of bars, wine tasting rooms, restaurants, etc. Hit up Topa Topa and Lama Dog for beers -- they're located right next to each other. Had a great meal a few years back at Lark -- hopefully it's still good. Grab a cone at McConnell's for dessert.
  17. Aggy in August: Haynes King is gonna tear up the SEC! Whoop! Aggy in September: Haynes is trash. Max Johnson has experience and is a proven winner who will take us to the Promised Land! Whoop! Aggy in October: Haynes and Max can't cut it and are too injury-prone. Weigman is elite! Whoop! Aggy in November: Which portal QBs wanna come learn at the knee of the QB Whisperer??
