  1. You would know best; I'd never heard of the person until this article but it appears they are very talented in whatever they do as they holds multiple awards, etc.
  2. The writers are very energetic and strong, 100 days in, it appears!
  3. Just saw it and can't believe how wrong this post was. Yes it was a fun enough movie, but GOTG2 was way better. GOTG2 was good. And while this movie was very mid, it blew Quantumania out of the water. All the movies lately have sucked, BP2, aforementioned Quantamania, the last Dr Strange, but this one was the best of the bunch and Rocket has always been my least favorite character and always annoyed me, so getting this emotional context actually helped to like him more.

  5. Undefeated in August, longest current win streak in the majors-- Houston has to be feeling dejected and maybe feeling a squeeze as Seattle has the second longest current win streak at 5 and after the Baltimore series they could feel the M's hot breath on their necks.
  6. We were lucky this was the A's is all I'll say while agreeing with you.
  7. Agreed, but with the next 4 against OAK, not as urgent. We sweep the A's and Houston gets swept by the surging O's, I think we can start a magic number countdown!
  8. Also, to add: Yoda, Rebel Alliance, Baby Yoda, Anime, Disney-anything etc. stickers on the car up to and including the The Hangover baby for Baby on Board.
  9. I do hail from Reata Pass which is in the county of San Saba, bein’ the which-a-why “The San Saba Songbird” is m’sobriquet of preference. But right now I would appreciate it if you would place your weapon in that receptacle by the swingin doors, which concealin’ it on your person in the first place was a violation of the rules of this establishment and an offense against local norms.
  10. Watched it with the family last night. This was, as the kids say, mid af. Not bad, but not great either. Feel like could have been done so much better, but it was fine. Jack Black's Bowser needed more screen time.
  11. 100% agree. Hailee Steinfield was awesome. Years later I was surprised to see someone of her skill at that young of an age married Bieber.
  12. A sweep today and a loss to the NYY and I’m really thinking wire to wire is possible…
  13. Ha! I'm challenging myself for this to be my last one and not wander into CR or DT and post in any hotbed threads.
  14. As an aside, I thought Barbie sucked (not the target demo, my daughters liked it) but it was interesting. Noah and Greta are to thank for that and to a lesser degree the casting folks and Margot/Gosling. Noah and Greta's masterpiece was the Netflix released White Noise. Really fantastic treatment on an almost impossible task, to turn that dialogue-driven novel into an interesting movie. Casting Adam Driver, who is quickly one of my favorite actors in Hollywood, was brilliant. I guess what I'm saying is Greta/Noah, and the creatives in Hollywood like them, they are doing interesting things that isn't IP-laden but it gets nowhere. Nobody went to see The Barbie movie because they thought Greta was going to make an interesting movie. They went and saw it because it became a vibe, thanks in large part to both a perfect storm of organic virality for pretty and interesting and fun people on apps like TIkTok while also hitting for the core target demo of girl tweens/teens/young women on the back of (an albeit brilliant, but massive) $150mm marketing campaign to get butts in seats. The end result is people are pleasantly surprised it's actually a good film where they were just expecting a good time/experience (a la Lego Movie).
  15. A little late, but Dane Dunning pitched a gem. I was at both great games; Detroit and now ChiSox. He eats up the bad teams really well but am worried about the shakiness against a top 1/3 team with good hitters for playoffs...
