  1. This was the entire Kentucky game. Anyway there are numerous other threads to Sark's idiocy this year. We are all in the same boat, the SS Hope.
  2. Sounds like he needs a $1T pay package. https://www.cnbc.com/2025/10/27/tesla-musk-pay-shareholder-vote.html Shareholders must vote to pay Tesla CEO Elon Musk almost $1 trillion, or he might not stay, Board Chair Robyn Denholm warned in a letter Monday. “Without Elon, Tesla could lose significant value, as our company may no longer be valued for what we aim to become,” Denholm wrote ahead of Tesla’s annual meeting on Nov. 6. The shareholder vote for Musk’s pay and other proposals closes at 11:59 p.m. ET on Nov. 5. Musk is key to the future of the EV maker as it moves beyond being “just another car company,” with a bigger focus on Full Self Driving and Optimus, Denholm argued. Several groups have publicly opposed the pay package in recent days, with Institutional Shareholder Services, the biggest proxy advisory firm in the world, recommending against its “astronomical” value. Last week, a group of unions and corporate watchdogs launched the Take Back Tesla website to oppose the pay package, noting Musk’s embracing of right-wing political movements and amplifying of conspiracy theories that have damaged the brand. Musk lashed out at proxy firms as “corporate terrorists” on a post-earnings call with analysts last week.
  3. I dig what Cig is doing at IU. But Cig, DeBoer are the exceptions. For every Sig, there's probably 20 or more forgetful names who sucked.
  4. and the replacement for Texas is? This is NOT the year to join the let's find a head coach lottery. Way too many vacancies and only 2 or 3 viable candidates.
  5. Timestamped. Sometimes the schemes and play call are just stupid. This is just one of many examples pointed out this season. Caldwell would've had the exact same results. There simply is no one to pass to. As I said in another thread, here's to hoping Sark checks his ego and starts calling plays for the situations.
  6. As a proud parent of 2 recent Texas grads, I feel your pain. I had to relive it when my eldest was applying to medical schools. Shit is fucking crazy now.
  7. Mack won because Vince. Ed won because Burrow. Chizik because with Cam. There are only a handful of coaches who won because they are fucking amazing coaches. Saban, old Carroll, and anyone who who coaches at tOSU are the only few who fit that category. Luck seems to be just as important as coaching acumen.

    So Joey McGuire...
  9. Schemes and playcalling matter. If Caldwell is getting blitzed on plays where all receivers are running 15-20 yard routes, he too will struggle.
  10. Louisiana is going to make what Putin is doing to Ukrainian hospitals seem like child's play.
  11. I thought I saw him yell at Simmons??? (may have been someone else) when Simmons almost jumped offsides late in the 4th. Looks like they were having words when the camera cut away.
  12. Kirk Ferentz laughs at the insanity of this shit. He has this shit figured out. Don't coach at a place with lofty expectations. Don't EVER win anything to raise the bar of what's expected of you. Win just enough to keep your fanbase hopeful, but not too hopeful.
  13. I have no doubt that Sark was/is looking to leave. I think he thought he could coast this year (based on how well his team looked the last 2 years), looked at his roster and especially with how Arch played last year, have another great year, and then leave a hero. He mailed it in during the off season because arrogance got the best of him. He's to hoping the huge ass piece of humble pie gets his ego knocked down a few pegs, and he gets his shit together for himself and the program.
  14. I'll go against the internet mob mentality and say that I don't want Sark to leave. I'm hoping the absolute turmoil of this season (some, probably most, of it his own making) turns him into a better person and coach. I'm hoping he can self reflect and make the changes required of him both personally and professionally.

We fired Mack. I would bet most NC winning coaches got fired. Saban and Urban are the only 2 I can remember who "moved on" on their own. Well, Urban was kinda forced to move on because he had a killer on his roster.
  16. No need to throw that shit in this.
  17. Teed off at 7:30am, before first light. Walked 18 in 2:45 hours. Shot a 77. Haven't had below 70s temp for a round of golf since April. With the overnight rains, there was no one on the course. Our own private course walking in sub 70 degree temps. Got damned it was almost like Colorado at 7000 feet in August. It was a glorious morning.
  18. I've watched a shitton of golf instruction videos. Most are the same but every now and then you'll have a idiot who just throws out some stupid shit. I've never seen anyone dumb enough to say your backswing doesn't matter. I find the below video to be the best and simplest to work on a fundamental swing from which you can improve. There's a lot of work that goes into it which he doesn't get into. But from a swing stand point, that's the best thing you can do to teach a new golfer for changing a swing to cure slicing. Drop the hands and rotate through the ball. This is THE starting point. From here, you can work on the other minute details like grip, how you take away from the ball, etc. The one thing I will add that's extremely important is to try to keep the wrist close together throughout the swing (including backswing to downswing to follow through. The towel through your arm pits is a great drill to work on keeping your wrist together and swinging with your body.
  19. Your first instructor is a fucking idiot. If your backswing is shit, you are going to have to compensate for it somewhere in the downswing and finish. Your swing starts at how/where you address the ball, grip, stance, hands/arm tension. Then it goes to backswing (how you take away the club, your hands and by default your club face relative to the takeaway, how/where you hinge your wrist (cupped? no no), then to what happens at the top when you initiate your downswing (do your hips get way in front of your hands leading you to being late and pushing/slicing everything because your club face will most likely always be open at impact, etc), then to the downswing (do you drop your hands, do you throw your shoulder over the top, what's the club face/hands when you drop your hands, how much lag, do you cast?, etc), then to finish (how well do you rotate through the ball, is most of your weight on your lead leg, are you early extending, do you flip, etc?). If you conveniently consider any of those parts irrelevant, then your swing isn't going to be a consistent, repetitive thing that you can build on.
  20. Sarks big culture thing is has openness and honesty. That's bullshit if he's not fostering a culture where people can call out his bullshit and shortcomings.
  21. Is there no one on the staff or team who calls out Sark on his shitty OC'ing? Surely someone (hopefully multiple someones) after the Kentucky game has said "What the fuck was that?" BUT, for his tenure, we continue to suck inside the 10 so I guess that's a NO. He can look amazing at times but then there are entire games where he's like a fucking idiot calling plays regardless of what is happening on the field.
