Getting old sucks
Lucky or unlucky, take your pick, but my dad passed away before he ever had a chance to go down the dementia road. I don’t have a family history of it. Cancer on the other hand? Got that history for sure. I’m getting all my normal checkups and screenings as they are suggested. I stay active and fit. Just turned 60. Getting old sucks but it beats the alternative as they say.

I caught the cancer
Just gonna lay it out here, but looking at pictures of breasts in the context of the oncology surgeon’s office is NOT sexy.

Vince Young Perpetual Appreciation Thread
Just being honest and open, but in that video, I would expect Vince to hit the 20 point hole every time. Maybe he's just jacking around because he's playing against a kid.

I caught the cancer
Surprised that a mastectomy was done. I’m expecting a lumpectomy and some radiation and get on with life, but all I know is what I’ve read on the internet so far. Appointment with an oncology surgeon this week.

She either wrecked it, or she liked it so well she never came home with her old car. I think the sales guy knows who he’s dealing with here.

I have so much metal in my body when I go through security I just point at the full body scanner. No way I make it through the metal detector.

Getting old sucks
That’s the challenge. My right knee bothers me but not to the extent that I want to get it replaced and spend two months just rehabbing.

Getting old sucks
More trouble since the replacement?

Getting old sucks
When are you getting the left one done? I’m the opposite. My left knee has been replaced in 2021, now right knee is on the clock.

Shit's Borked
Some new thing is happening where I browse the board, go away, come back and the page looks like the photo below. A twitter image in the top left quarter and nothing else. I have to hit the back button several times to get back to the board. I should try just a refresh I suppose.

4th of July Texas Flood
Here’s the Mo Ranch story: It was about 1 a.m. on the Fourth of July when the facilities manager at a central Texas summer camp saw water from the Guadalupe River steadily rising amid a deluge of rain. Aroldo Barrera notified his boss, who had been monitoring reports of the storms approaching Presbyterian Mo-Ranch Assembly, a recreation destination where an intercultural youth conference had been called off early just hours earlier. Despite an absence of warning by local authorities, camp officials acted quickly on their own, relocating about 70 children and adults staying overnight in a building near the river. With the kids safe, camp leaders including President and CEO Tim Huchton were able to avoid the catastrophe that hit at least one other camp near Hunt, where the 500-acre Mo-Ranch is located. “They helped them pack up,” Lisa Winters, communications director for Mo-Ranch, told The Associated Press on Sunday. “They got them up, they got them out, put them up on higher ground.” They had a plan and executed it. In another report I heard they actually moved a bunch of kayaks and canoes to higher ground also. The same thought process probably went on at La Junta as well. To @troph’s point all the camps should have an emergency plan and drill on it before any kids show up. It’s government’s job to require they have it in place and provide adequate warning.
