  1. Her father was the one going through the debris at the camp in the UT shirt. I couldnt finish watching the interview.
  2. Sarah Marsh, Lila Bonner, Eloise Peck, Janie Hunt, Renee Smajstria, Linnie McCown, and Anna Margaret Bellows have all been recovered and publicly identified as victims. Lila and Linnie's parents are friends of ours.
  3. Not sure what the deal is with that Kerr country sheriff update. Obviously I hope that number is correct, but from friends in contact with Mystic Im being told 4 girls found, 21 still missing. That was last night. My down the street neighbors little girl was confirmed missing this morning. We were still holding out hope that her name being mentioned was still a rumor, I havent felt comfortable texting the parents. Our kids have played together a million times. We go to the same Church. It was the last one where I actually convinced myself there could be a chance. My 8 year old still has no idea kids are missing. This one is gonna land hard for my boys.
  4. No worries at all man. I think its all gotta be looked into. Like someone mentioned before, the scoreboard says a whole bunch of dead kids. Glad your friends kids are ok.
  5. I bet we have suffered Waldemar pickup in anonymity together. Finally being freed onto 1340 is cold beer after mowing the lawn level good.
  6. Its fine. Could be bullshit. I certainly hope everything is looked into. Thats kind of what Im getting at. I think theres a chance they couldve been more on top of it and slipped into some bad habits over time.
  7. Thats what is taking place. Ive been out there twice now and my body is completely out of whack at this point. You just cant help but expect the worst. The search teams are working extremely hard but in my opinion the reason the officials arent being more forthcoming, is because they're trying to figure out when they have to tell everyone they cant even find most of the bodies. Its my expectation that we lost a lot of wonderful people and a lot of beautiful little girls. Its such an important place to so many people, for so many thats their happy spot. Especially talking to the Mystic people, something that brought them true joy has brought them devastation on a level that they just cant comprehend yet. Theyre just paralyzed. And the bad news just keeps coming in. Sorry if Im sounding dramatic, but I do think something dramatic has taken place that will leave a major scar.
  8. Ive been going there my whole life between camps and going back and renting houses with my family. Now my kids are in camp. I think its fair to say anyone thats been going for over a decade has seen multiple flood events, some of which are exactly as you described. Water got THIS HIGH when I was there back in the day, Ive heard that stuff the whole time Ive been there. I can remember at least one summer at camp where it just wouldnt stop raining for days and the water slowly creeped up to the cabins. We just had our stuff on the bunks and the floors in these cabins are typically just concrete slab. Water goes back out, recedes to the river, and you go about your business. I certainly can see how someone might start to sort of disregard the warnings about flood severity. You hear that stuff but typically it isnt as bad at your place, so you just get in the bad habit of not taking the warnings seriously. Then all of a sudden you're distracted by the 4th of July and and it gets just a little easier to disregard the warnings, and by the time a flood like this starts to head your way, and you actually spring into action, its too late. This thing just moved too fast.
  9. Hes good. I havent seen him much, I went back to Kerrville to pick some Waldemar campers up. He kept holding his younger brother next to him on the couch this morning which is not like him at all. He internalizes everything and doesnt say much. Thanks for asking.
  10. My God. This is the first piece of good news I’ve seen during the whole deal. I really needed that thanks.
  11. I was with the parents yesterday at the reunification site. They were still clinging on to hope when I left. They all were.
  12. There’s multiple little girls identified, there’s multiple still missing. What happened in the last 24 hours is unthinkable, unspeakable. I’m having trouble sleeping.
  13. Not sure what you’re asking but I’ll give it a stab- I assumed all low water crossings into the area were destroyed or covered in debris but they seem to have held up better than expected. The state has been bussing people out, I don’t have details how the people get out. My best guess is they’re using military vehicles to cross a small stretch of impassible roadway. I bet the roads doing well is saving lots of old peoples lives. To be clear, it’s my impression the roads held up better than feared and it’s helping a lot with evacuations.
  14. I had to go to Ingram Elementary to register my kids name. That’s where they were flying in the mystic girls. To give the scene- I’m waiting in line to get my kids name registered and there’s women breaking down around me after receiving the news from the national guard that they hadn’t found any of the missing girls. Fast forward to tonight and they’re finding some of these families little girls, just not in the way we all hope. There’s no good news, it’s all devastating news.
  15. Just got back from the area. The storm really messed up that hunt/ingram/centerpoint stretch. It’s total devastation. I have family and friends that are completely stuck just waiting on the national guard to come get them. This is like a mini version of what happened in North Carolina/appalachia earlier this year. Us Texans can knock this out and get these people what they need. They’re dealing with losing loved ones.
  16. I got my boy out from La Junta. As far as I can tell the whole camp got to high ground well in advance of the bad stuff and watched the camp get obliterated. My son is 8 and they took the younger kids to the backside facing away from the camp and river and did a bunch of games and songs etc. One of the first things he said to me was he asked if they’re still doing the fireworks tonight. I love that camp.
  17. I’m an hour away. My 8 year old is at La junta. We know at least a dozen girls at mystic right now. Once I get there I’ll start a thread. For people to post updates
  18. We donkey punched all of college football last cycle and have been highly successful in the portal but yea I guess let’s have a good old fashioned freak out for the hell of it. The money is there, we are gonna get ours. It’s as simple as that.
  19. I don’t have much of a feel for recruiting at all right now, but I do feel confident we have the $$$ to put together a top 5 class. I was around a large group of coaches recently (was completely random but awesome) and they just rolled their eyes when I told them I went to Texas. I’m not worried in the slightest.
  20. Just got this in the mail. Great deal on a great rod. Over half off. TFO Tactical inshore
  21. Im exactly the same. A couple of times people looked at me like a leper for switching the handle on a spinning reel to the right side.
  22. The SEC destination for elite west coast recruits. There’s something about combining elite Texas and California kids to conquer the southeast that makes me feel like a million bucks. They never should’ve let us into their conference.
  23. It came up because I had seen we had fallen behind for Atkinson and then the next thing I saw about him was he was visiting. So I asked him about it and he said he still doesnt think we get him (because hes highly valued and Im assuming UGA or whoever will continue to pony up) but we are making him a competitive offer that raised the market for him. I just think its pretty cool that we can money whip our way back into big time recruitments. The implication is if they dont match he is willing to come to Texas. So due to our deep pockets, even in recruitments where we dont lead, we are able to be a thorn in the side of those who are more likely to win the recruitment. That puts stress on their budget, which could help us down the line in other recruitments and in the portal. I suppose that wouldnt be the case if our competitors have as deep of pockets as us but his implication is in this case they dont.
  24. I was surrounded by about 80 rabid LSU fans with 20 or so fans from other SEC schools. They hate us so much. At a round table during a golf tourney weather delay an old dog orthopedic surgeon LSU fan gave me the dig that it took being able to pay players openly for Texas to be good again. I just said, “Yea we are all real excited and loving this new era. It’s been really fun.” The scowl he gave was better than a birdie putt. Welcome to the fucking show you fucking dildo.
  25. Per someone writing the checks we are upping the bid on Atkinson and several others. He’s not gonna end up here but others will have to pay. We are managing things on a high level and even in recruitments we aren’t likely to win we are a big fucking problem for everyone else out there. It’s a fantastic time to be a Texas fan. I’m enjoying it immensely. Once it officially became a game of money and intelligence we rose to the top in a hurry. Fun times.
