  1. Oh I had no idea that Bridgeland had gotten their own high school. I guess I should've figured that because of all the growth happening in Cypress/Northwest Harris County.
  2. Yeah the Berry Center is a nice facility.
  3. Cy Ranch actually is a solid program. I never thought one of those CFISD schools (besides Fair) would become a consistent contender.
  4. 290 might be the worst freeway I've ever driven on. People going 15-20 over, weaving in and out of traffic, while there are concrete blockades in place of shoulders because of the expansion was maddening. I haven't driven on it in a while, and I'm glad I don't have to. I swear at least half of the cars doing that were lifted F-250s that had never seen a speck of mud or a driver with a dick longer than 3".
  5. I said this a few months ago, and I'll say it again: Herman needs to hire Phil Longo of Ole Miss as OC. He knows to run a run-heavy air raid scheme and is familiar with recruiting in Texas from his time as OC of SHSU. Ole Miss' offense is excellent.
  6. Maybe, I'm sure there's a few other programs out there who'd be coming down on Herman harder than we are. I think losing to Maryland two seasons in a row justifies an increase in pressure on TH, but it started after last year's loss to them. He's clearly a dipshit for some of the hires he's made, the personnel he uses, his press conferences, etc., but I think the pressure should temper it unless he starts 2-4 or worse. Starting 2-4 is looking increasingly likely, but that actually needs to happen before we roll out the guillotines.
  7. That situation was unique in that their AD, Scott Woodward, already had a great relationship with Jimbo. Baggins has wanted out of FSU for at least three years if you believe the rumors. That plus an insane guaranteed contract was enough for him to go to aggy. Hell, he'd be LSU's coach right now if their university and athletic department weren't incompetent and/or broke. We could have a situation similar to that with CDC and Patterson. However, Patterson has shown no desire to leave TCU and probably detests UT.
  8. I'm sure many coaches are wondering that. The thing is, how many successful coaches (who are likely well compensated) at other programs would want to leave the comfort of their job for a job that's an immediate pressure cooker with hoards of hovering boosters and intense fan scrutiny? CDC better get the athletic department's ducks in a row if we're ever going to find someone proven to be great who will turn this team back into a giant. Thankfully, I'm optimistic about CDC and how he'll manage the situation.
  9. I watched some of the Clemson-Furman game, and I wasn't all that impressed with Clemson. I think they could lose if Dabo fucks around and plays Kelly Bryant too long. He isn't up to their standard, but Trevor Lawrence absolutely is. Also, Clemson's o-line isn't as good as you'd think based on the number of games they've won over the past five or so years. They struggle at run blocking. I think Clemson barely hangs on and wins like 27-23.
  10. When we hire a new coach eventually, I think it needs to be someone who's proven they can rebuild a program from the ground up. I don't want anyone who walked into a good situation and made them better. I think Muschamp fits the bill if he gets South Carolina to 10+ wins this year. This might sound ridiculous, but our players are just used to losing. The program is mired in a culture of losing, and I think there's a good chance Herman is going to lose the locker room if he can't beat at least one of USC/TCU.
  11. I like CDC, but I won't believe Herman is getting fired after this year until I see it happen. For how unified the boosters apparently were in getting him, I have a hard time believing they'll turn on him unless we miss a bowl game or worse.
  12. Yeah I'll admit that I'm intrigued by how CDC would handle a football coaching search. He seems to have brought in great coaches in softball and track. You're right about the donors though. Realistically, Herman won't be fired this year unless most of the donors have given up on him and/or he wins less than six games.
  13. I don't think Herman is going to work out here, but we'd scare off a lot of potentially good/great head coaches if we fire him after year two. That kind of coaching turnover shows the program and athletic department are unstable.
  14. He only has one year of eligibility iirc.
  15. Yeah, and I like head coaches with a background as an OL coach.
  16. Yeah, I suspect he'll have Oregon contending for the CFP by next year.
  17. I'm intrigued by Mario Cristobal at Oregon. I'd like to see him coach 1-2 seasons there first, but he clearly knows how to recruit at an elite level.
  18. I think it's a lot of what you said in the first paragraph. I doubt it's the city, but it could be the school. It's important to have the chancellor, president, AD, and coaching staff on the same page. It's also important to have the big donors on the same page. As of now, I think our roster is one of the 20 best in the nation. I think coaches also tend to fail when they hire a bunch of their underwhelming buddies in the first place. See Charlie, Kliff, Rumlin, (probably) Herman etc.
  19. Yeah that screen where we had trips right and CJ couldn't block was extremely predictable too.
  20. I'd like to see them play at least a full season, but I think Mario Cristobal at Oregon is going to be a damn good head coach.
  21. I'm disappointed about most of the position groups (especially d-line), but the dumbass defensive penalties that allow MD to keep driving are inexcusable. Oh, and the WRs can't block worth a shit. Thanks, Mehringer.
