  1. That's a good point; I still have no clue why Jimbo just stood there and let Trickett ruin that unit. Francois was bludgeoned throughout '16 and finally paid the price the next year like you said.
  2. You can keep filling your diaper if you want. In the meantime, I'll chat with the adults.
  3. FSU tanked because of his failure to hold their OL coach accountable for his bad units, lackluster QB development, and lackluster WR development. I don't know enough about FSU back then to explain why he wouldn't fire Trickett, but that's definitely a knock on Jimbo. As a HC, Jimbo's QB starters are as follows: Christian Ponder, EJ Manuel, Jameis, Everett Golson, Sean Maguire, Deondre Francois, James Blackman, Mond, King, and Calzada. The first three operated his offense at a good to great level while the next four generally did not. At A&M, Mond ultimately was fine in that regard while King is unproven and Calzada has definitively failed. I ultimately think they're on the upswing because Conner Weigman is extremely talented and pretty athletic. In my opinion, their recruiting on defense as well as Henson's development of their OL gives them a 3 loss floor going forward. You and everyone else can argue that Jimbo won't develop Weigman like he didn't develop FSU QBs from '15 onward, but I just think Weigman is a special prospect. As far as WR development goes, he has continued to let some talented guys wither like did at FSU because they're typically asked to run option routes and Craig is a terrible WR coach (but great recruiter). If they continue to get decent to bad QB play along with lackluster WR play, then they'll likely have season after season like this one in which their defense carries them. If my opinion of Weigman rings true and he operates Jimbo's offense anywhere near the level Jameis did, then they will compete for SEC titles. As far as Jimbo's coaching goes, I think their season turned starting with the Alabama game because he simplified their offense for Calzada by running much more RPO rather than his typical offense. Calzada just isn't a good QB because he can't quickly process reads, so the increased RPO frequency gave him easier throws and thus more completions. If he fails to develop King and/or Weigman, then y'all will be right.
  4. I posted who which team I root for on this page and it's not A&M. Your life will get better if you become less oblivious.
  5. You have no actual argument against what I said. Feel free to refute any one of my points with any amount of evidence.
  6. You're right that they aren't the next Bama. They will have as much talent as those teams in a few years but will probably still lag behind a bit because of Jimbo's old school approach to offense. Day has tOSU running with Georgia this year and for years to come because of his brilliant recruiting at WR and outstanding play calling/design. I don't think Georgia and Alabama are necessarily better coached than A&M though. Georgia isn't any more modern than A&M on either side of the ball, they just have better players and just as good of coaches/support staffs. Alabama's staff this year is arguably worse than A&M's; they just have a more modern approach to offense and an explosive receiver/better QB that has resulted in their offense being much more efficient and explosive. Saban will most likely let O'Brien walk and fire Golding this offseason, so we'll have to see who they hire and how they match up against Jimbo/Elko/future DC in order to assess who is on the better path going forward.
  7. I will never bet on anything with anyone from this site. It's absolutely moronic to think they're going to keep losing 3-4 games every year based upon how well they're recruiting at every position but WR (for now). Programs live and die by coaches and how they recruit/evaluate. Jimbo does both well, and if you can't explain why he's lost three or more games in six of the last seven years and the contrasting future that will be different because of recruiting, then there is no point in arguing with anyone. They've committed to creating a winning program, and you'd see that if you weren't so biased. Any program that properly commits to long-term improvement will reap rewards. My favorite program, Rutgers, seems to be on the same path thus far (obviously with a lower ceiling).
  8. Yes, 2021 Alabama is a step behind most of Saban’s teams there thus far, but they aren’t average. They will lose to Georgia by multiple possessions because Georgia has an elite defense and competent offense. I’d take that bet, but I don’t care to profit on their good outcomes. I guess I’m just puzzled that so many people on here completely write them off, but one guy on here was firing off takes on Twitter saying Herman was a better coach than Jimbo so it’s probably just blind hatred.
  9. Did I ever even say they’d beat Ole Miss? I don’t recall saying that, but feel free to quote one of my posts saying as much. A&M struggles to move the ball against P5 defenses when Jimbo runs his typical west coast offense. They beat Alabama because of how much RPO he incorporated, and he’ll be able to overcome running his dated offense with an accurate and intelligent QB (Weigman, King TBD). I don’t care if you take me seriously because all you’re capable of is surface-level analysis.
  10. Calzada, especially Calzada on the road, is a bottom of the barrel P5 QB. Ole Miss is a good team who finally got a few receivers back. You can place blame on Jimbo for not developing him or signing him in the first place, and both of those points are fair. They’ve played well enough to where recruits don’t care about that because they know King and Weigman are better. Their flaw is that their pace is glacial and receivers have to wait a while to see the field and/or never fully develop. I think they’ll ultimately overcome those hurdles because Jimbo finally incorporated more RPO into their game plans, and that’ll greatly benefit King/Weigman. If they start getting guys like Stewart and Johntay Cook, then Jimbo/Craig would have to really fuck things up to not have a quality WR corps. They’ve now built a floor of 9-3 or so against any given schedule, and they’re loaded with future draft picks on their defensive depth chart. If LSU makes a bad hire, then they’ll have minimal competition for recruits in this region for a while. They’re reaping the rewards of having a good AD who nailed a coaching search while getting whatever $ they want from their boosters.
  11. It’s pathetic how many people on here don’t understand how good of a recruiting staff/support org they have there. They’ll be just as talented as Alabama and Georgia by the ‘23 season, and losing several good players to the draft will only negatively impact them in the early stages of next season.
  12. They'll lose to Ohio St by 14+ on Saturday, but they still made a good move today. Your typical 10-2 B1G team beats about 1-2 year-end top 25 teams with the rest being average to bad. The key to elevating your program quickly in the B1G is to recruit the south and mid-Atlantic hard, and it's perfectly fine to settle for mid-tier 3 stars from those areas instead of the mostly slow (yet tough unlike most TXHSFB players) guys from the midwest. Penn St has typically played Ohio St competitively under Franklin (6-2 ATS) because of how athletic their defense is relative to other teams up there. Meanwhile, Harbaugh is 2-3 ATS against Ohio St so far despite having just as much/more talent than Penn St. Your defense is absolutely toast if it lacks elite/great athleticism at too many spots because Day will isolate receivers on your slow personnel early and often (or he could get Henderson in space). Tucker understands this and is turning over their roster to have a shot at keeping up with the Buckeyes and stealing a game if you're +2 in TO margin and/or create more explosive plays. They also have a great DPP who is savvy at identifying plus athletes in the transfer portal. Their roster just isn't good enough yet though, so a blowout is probably coming on Saturday because Day doesn't fuck around if his roster is significantly more athletic than that of his opponent.
  13. There's little downside to it since it's funded entirely by two of their mega-boosters. They're on an upward trajectory if they can get a few top 100 recruits each year (they have none committed rn).
  14. That's fair as well. It's tough to judge most teams from last year, but their defense is incredible this year while it was just good last year. I will say that Calzada is a massive downgrade from Mond, so you're probably right.
  15. That's fair. I think they're going to be better than Alabama next year if Saban doesn't effectively replace O'Brien and Golding. He hits on coordinator hires more often than not, so I'd still pick Alabama to win the west next season.
  16. The 2021 Texas A&M team would beat the '18, '19, and '20 Texas A&M teams more often than not. Is that clear enough for you to understand?
  17. That's fair; it's just my opinion. I don't hold any coach who fields a soft team in high regard.
  18. Sumlin started out great, but each of his teams progressively got worse. Jimbo's 2018 team was better than their '19 and '20 teams, but his team this year is his best yet at A&M. They're landing more top 100 guys each year than Sumlin did in a typical class, and not many of them are busting/transferring.
  19. What do you specifically disagree with? Only my last point is up for debate as far as I'm concerned.
  20. Dameyune Craig is an excellent recruiter. Andre Coleman is not. Jimbo has built a winning program there. Sark has not and will not do that. This isn't difficult to grasp.
  21. Eh Bruh Man is on the right track here. They're elevating into the UGA, Bama, Ohio St talent tier soon.
  22. Eh that last pick was pretty bad. The rushing dynamic McCarthy brings will make him the starter sooner rather than later.
  23. Someone will eventually do it in my opinion.
